Summary: Remus wants something desperately but he'd never ask for it. Severus is quite a bit more direct.
Remus learned early not to expect to get what he asked for.
He'd formed an ambiguous relationship with his god, when wondering what he’d done to deserve being bitten had turned to anger.
His feelings for Severus ran along the same lines; with his bewilderment at wanting Severus turning into despair.
Look at me, Remus demanded silently as he did every day as he sipped his tea at breakfast. Touch me.
“Lupin,” said Severus’ voice abruptly. “Are you deaf?”
“Sorry, what?”
Severus’ hand rested openly on Remus’ bare wrist as he looked him in the eyes. “Pass the bloody sugar.”
