I.
"Sir, Dobby is sorry, but Professor Snape is telling you your potion’s not ready."

"What?" Remus sat up at his desk, grading forgotten. "Severus is never late."

Dobby’s ears drooped. "The professor is very tired all the time. Your potion-" The elf’s arm twitched, a remnant of the urge to hit himself when speaking ill of his masters. "It takes all his time."

Remus rose and quickly moved to the door, muttering, "I didn’t know. How could he- I shouldn’t have let him-"

Dobby grinned and blinked into Snape’s office, a goblet of Wolfsbane now in his small hand.

II.
"Professor Lupin refused his potion, sir. Dobby is trying, but-"

"He took it from you last month!"

Dobby shrugged just as Remus burst into Severus’ office. "Professor Snape, a word."

Snape glared and came around his desk. "You stubborn fool! You don’t need the potion from my hand for it to work!"

Remus paused, confused, but answered Severus. "No, but you haven’t spoken to me in two months and I thought we had-"

Dobby smiled, disappearing silently. At least the men were talking again after Harry angered Professor Snape. He hoped the human lip-touching would follow. It seemed important to them.
