"And that's your final say on the matter?"  Remus asked his fists on his hips.

"Lupin, I cannot have people hanging about cluttering up the place.  I need a simple, orderly place to live and work."

"And I clutter up the place?"

"It's nothing personal…."

"Nothing personal?!  I'm good as a fuck toy, but otherwise just so much detritus?"

Severus hesitated.

"Fine."  Remus was out the door in an instant.

Severus grabbed the nearest item and flung it at the door.  The heavy glass jar and his heart shattered into precisely the same number of pieces on the hard stone floor.
