Merlin, this was all a bloody mess. How had it all spiraled out of control so quickly? Of course, when Neville had originally told El what he had done, she knew it wasn't going to be pretty, but never in a million years did she expect the reaction from the rebels. Nearly turning on one of their own? And what's more, accepting a self proclaimed psychopathic murderer so easily into their ranks. El may have some blood on her hands after everything, but she had never killed anyone. And she definitely hadn't bragged about it. What made all of the damn rebels want to give her sympathy! She hadn't been made to do any of those things like Draco Malfoy! It was like they all lost their damn minds.
And then there was Neville. The man who didn't want everyone looking to him for answers, or relying on him for all their problems, and yet he was trying so hard to take the blame for her. It almost... irritated her. He was always the martyr, and she didn't think that was very fair to him. She wanted her fair share of the punishment, but he wouldn't allow it.
Sometimes, this place was tiring.
Instead of worrying on it too much, she did the next best thing, and went out for an hour or so and came back with alcohol. While she really didn't want to feed the habit, she felt it was almost necessary in the moment.
Moving to lock the door, El tossed the brown bag that contained a cheap bottle of whiskey on the bed before hopping on it herself. They only had enough to afford one queen sized bed in the room, instead of a double, but she didn't mind all that much. She'd sleep on the floor if she had too.
"Cheer up, buttercup. I brought you disgusting booze. That has to count for something, right?" Tilting her head, she smiled at him before she sat up and moved to her bag, pulling out a tank top and shorts to sleep in. She found her way into the bathroom and only took a few moments to change before she headed back out into the main room.
"I thought about getting pizza too but... something tells me we'd both prefer a liquid diet tonight."
