Who: George Weasley and Penny Clearwater What: Taking a shower and talking Where: Her house in glasgow When: Friday evening
Since splitting with Fred, things had been surprisingly hard for George. It wasn’t just the fact that he wasn’t used to being on his own, but his lack of hearing had almost gotten him caught when he’d settled into a dingy flat in Nottingham. They were almost through the door by the time he’d gotten out of their, only having time to stuff his book of experiments, and his wand into a bag before leaving out a back window (the sound of apparition would have alerted them to his presence immediately. He hadn’t grabbed his journal, and that crippled him more than he would have imagined.
Without a way to contact his family, or any other rebels, George found it hard to get back on his feet. He couldn’t get a job-- there wasn’t much out there for him, and being that he had only one change of clothing and a lack of shelter, it made it even harder. He’d squatted when and where he could, but most nights he found a secluded enough area to sleep, often on the ground tucked away under shadows. All of this left his clothing mussed and a layer of grime all over him. He wasn’t a sight to take in.
He wasn’t proud of the fact that he’d stolen a journal, but he needed it. It was almost impossible to get by sometimes without the assistance of others, and he was quickly realizing that. Even though he knew that he was close enough to where he’d last seen his family, he didn’t know where they were. It was likely that they’d moved on, and he had no way to talk to them until he’d taken the damned book. He’d make up for it later, he vowed.
By the time he’d gotten to Penny’s it was in the late afternoon, he was tired and sore and very clearly dirty. His clothing was worn and wrinkled, and he’d looked worn down, but the idea of a bath and a safe place to sit for a moment roused a smile to his face.
Impatiently, George knocked on the door, adjusted the small backpack he had on his shoulders and calling out to her. “Penny? You in?”
