Title: Where I Belong
Author: Ariel arielhime
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: OOC-ness, complete disregard of the happenings of the last few books of the series (However, Voldemort *is* dead); mpreg, dark!Harry, character death (minor), angst, romance, slash, happy ending.
Prompt: Things (kinks) you would like included in your gift: I do love a happy ending. Mild angst is fine, mpreg is fine, if the characters are OOC, that is fine, too, dark!Harry is good, just not evil!Harry or evil!Snape...
Summary: Harry experiences a traumatic accident that makes him start losing himself. Can Severus help Harry before he loses him, as well?
Disclaimers: Severus Snape and Harry Potter, or any other mentioned characters from the series, are not mine (though I wish they were so I could have my wicked way with them). They belong to that lovely lady, JKR, who created them. I am just playing with them in order to create some (hopefully) enjoyable writing.
Author’s Note: The story was written on a sudden burst of inspiration after having spent much time trying to figure out what to do. I’d like to thank those who listened to me plot and put up with me for it. I’d also like to thank my darling sister, kelkatan, who beta read this piece for me. *hugs* All other mistakes are my own.

‘Harry’s Inner Voice’
“Spoken words”
~~~~~~~~~
The sudden feeling that something was definitely wrong made Severus Snape, Potions Master at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry stop suddenly and uncharacteristically in the middle of his fourth year Potions lesson. His black eyes went distant as if searching for what was the matter, unaware of the group of his students that were staring at him in concern. He may have been a strict teacher, able to reduce even the toughest of his pupils to tears with the perfect combination of words and looks, but he was still their teacher and as such, they cared. The fact that his normally impassive face showed a deep concern had all of the students in his class wondering what was wrong with their professor.
“Professor Snape?” One student asked timidly from her seat. She frowned when he did not give her a response. When she looked at her neighboring classmate, she shook her head and shrugged with a confused look on her face.
Severus picked up his wand and aimed it at the blackboard. “That is your assignment.” He walked purposefully down the main aisle, pausing at the doors of his dungeons classroom to look back at the girl who had spoken. “Miss Anderson. Please watch the class. I expect nothing to be out of place when I return.” He turned and stormed out of the room, leaving a class of even more worried students alone.
He stalked his way through the dungeons, hexing the staircases to remain immobile as he ascended them. Something was wrong and Severus intended to find out. The moment his husband of seven years crossed his mind, he froze mid-step. Suddenly, everything made sense to him. Something had happened to Harry Potter-Snape and that was the reason he felt it so deeply. With a quickened pace, Severus resumed climbing the stairs, trying to sense the location of his young husband.
Harry Potter, the grand hero of the wizarding world after defeating the evil Lord Voldemort during his seventh year at school, had fallen in love with his potions teacher, Professor Snape. The two had moved beyond their animosities and developed a tentative friendship during the young man’s final year at the school before the fall of Voldemort. When Harry graduated, Headmaster Dumbledore offered him a teaching position at the school, which Harry had accepted without a second thought. During his first year teaching, he and Severus developed a strong friendship, which soon blossomed into a loving relationship. They dated for two years before Severus proposed to Harry on the winter solstice, the pair bonding and marrying the following year.
Their ceremony was small and only people who were dear to the couple were invited. Besides the exchanging of marital vows, the two men bonded, immediately feeling one another’s magic flowing deeply within themselves. That precious magic allowed them to know when the other was in some kind of need and also helped them locate one another. Severus used the power of their bond to his advantage and as he moved down another hallway, he knew he was close.
The group of people gathered at the end of the hallway only heightened Severus’ concern. He felt himself hurrying, not acknowledging that he was now running towards the group. He did not even notice when some of the people turned and looked at him, tears in their eyes as he skidded to a stop, his eyes immediately drawn to the limp body held in the arms of his mentor, Headmaster Dumbledore.
“Harry..?.” Severus spoke; his velvet voice was abnormally laced with panic as he moved closer, dropping to his knees beside the young man and their friend. Grabbing Harry’s smaller hand in one of his own, Severus was relieved to feel the presence of a weak pulse. “What...happened? Where’s Poppy? Why isn’t she here? How about the...”
“Severus...” Headmaster Dumbledore’s light blue eyes lacked their sparkle as they met the potions master’s eyes, interrupting the man. “There was an accident in the corridor. Harry... seemed to have fallen and continued down the stairs. Poppy is returning. She...Oh, Severus! I’m... so sorry...the baby...didn’t make it.” The deep sadness the older wizard felt was apparent in his wavering voice.
The words stung Severus in a way that made breathing difficult. He and Harry had been expecting their first child in less than three months, several years after they had gotten married, and it wasn’t for the lack of trying. There were complications aside the fact that they were both male, which had caused many a heartache. When Harry had conceived successfully, they were both ecstatic. They were preparing for the new arrival and constantly prayed to all deities to bless their unborn child. But...now...
Severus turned his eyes to Harry’s, seeing the forming bruises on his handsome face before he began inspecting the rest of his husband’s form. Tears formed in his own eyes as he realized that Harry’s stomach, only very recently round and full with their unborn child, was indeed flat. Before panic and grief could consume him, he heard Harry’s whispered voice and immediately leaned over him, his trembling fingers brushing over the bruised cheek. “Harry. Love... I’m here...”
Harry’s green eyes were dull when he met Severus’ black ones. He had heard voices above him for several moments but all he wanted was his husband. His Severus. “Sev...” He shifted a little, gasping from physical pain before the last few words spoken by the Headmaster sunk in. “The baby... No, no... Our baby...” He pulled his hand away from Severus’ and placed it on his smooth stomach, feeling the reality that he no longer was pregnant with their child. “No...”
“Harry, please... calm down. You are not...” Headmaster Dumbledore’s words were cut off abruptly when Harry screamed.
The sound was heart-wrenching and horribly painful. Severus pulled his husband towards him, wrapping his arms around the trembling body. Each one of Harry’s anguished cries seemed multiplied with his own emotions and he found himself burying his face against the other’s neck, uncaring of the tears that trailed down his face. The two men clung to each other tightly for several long moments before the headmaster used strong magic to send them to their rooms in the dungeons to allow them time to grieve in private.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three months had passed since the traumatic accident that left both Severus and Harry constantly feeling that an important part of their lives was still being ripped away from them. They had managed to make it to the end of the school year, discussing many things and reassuring one another of their love and their bond. They had loved their unborn child and they shared that pain, to the point where they desired to move out of the castle to a home of their own and away from the constant looks of sympathy they each received on a daily basis.
As the school year was nearing its end, the professors informed the headmaster of their resignation. Understanding their reasons for leaving, Headmaster Dumbledore did little to change their minds, only offering his undying support and love as well as permanent places for them at the school should they ever decide to return. With his blessing, Harry and Severus prepared for their move after having bought a comfortable home in the country that allowed them to live comfortable and in peace, away from prying and pitying eyes.
Severus finished shrinking the last of their boxes and put it in his pocket when he turned towards his husband, blinking slowly at the streak of madness that filled Harry’s emerald green eyes. “Harry...” Severus spoke softly as he gently grasped Harry’s elbow, turning the young man towards him.
“What are you staring at, Severus?” Harry nearly spat the words at Severus, even though in his mind, the words sounded as soft as they usually were when they were making love. ‘Making love... what’s that...?’ Harry’s mind taunted him and couldn’t grasp why Severus wouldn’t touch him after they had lost their unborn child even though his heart understood that they were both still trying to deal with the loss.
Harry’s tone chilled Severus to the bone and he knew right away that something was wrong. He kept his calm, cool composure as he spoke quietly. “I’m staring at you, love. Something is off... what is it?” He threaded his fingers through Harry’s unruly black hair, maintaining their eye contact. He was sure he hadn’t imagined that look, especially with the way the words were delivered.
Blinking slowly, as if gathering his senses, Harry tilted his head towards Severus’ fingers, smiling slightly. “Nothing’s wrong, Sev. Why do you ask?” He slipped one hand into Severus’ free one, pulling their joined hands to his lips.
Shaking his head a little, Severus responded. “Your eyes... they give away everything. But... that look... it is one that I have not seen before.” He studied Harry’s face carefully, watching for any other signs.
Laughing softly, Harry smiled at his husband. “I guess it’s just the fact that we’re actually leaving here. Finally. After so many years, we will be going somewhere else. Together. Alone.” ‘That won’t help...’ He slipped his arms around Severus’ waist, pressing his face against the taller man’s chest as he held him tightly, trying to calm both himself and his husband.
Harry wasn’t stupid. He had been fighting his own inner demon since he had lost their child. When he was left on his own for a few moments, that voice – that horrible inner voice of his - would taunt him about things Harry knew to be false. However, he was unable to control it and would still be left in a momentary stupor afterwards. ‘Which would explain why your husband is giving you that disbelieving look...’ He clenched his eyes shut, willing that voice to leave him alone.
Severus frowned to himself as he held Harry close, brushing his face through his husband’s soft hair. Something was definitely wrong but Harry was trying to fight it. He knew that his husband still struggled with the loss of their child but he didn’t realize how deep it went. However, now with the way Harry was acting, he intended to keep an extra watch on his husband and make sure he would be alright. Sighing softly, he pressed a kiss to the side of Harry’s neck before whispering. “Let’s go.”
Pulling away, Harry lifted his head to meet Severus’s eyes. “Yes. Let’s...” He squeezed the other man’s hand gently before walking over to the fireplace. Neither of them had wanted to make a big scene about their departure. They said their goodbyes to the headmaster and a few others the day before, telling them they would leave the following morning and would keep in touch.
Turning to look at Severus over his shoulder, Harry tried to give him a smile but it turned out to be a wry smirk. He felt the madness take over him briefly before he shoved it aside, hoping that Severus didn’t notice. “I’ll see you at home, love.” He blew him a kiss, grabbed some floo powder and soon disappeared to their new home.
Severus stared at the spot Harry had stood at in front of the fireplace. He could not get over the fact that his husband was struggling and at the moment, he was at a complete loss. He clenched his hands, lifting his left fist up and looking at the gold band adorning his ring finger. Touching it reverently, Severus swore to the deities that he would make sure Harry was happy and well enough so they could live happily once again. With that final thought, Severus followed Harry home.
“Go away and leave me the bloody hell alone!!!”
The sound of Harry’s voice once again alarmed Severus the moment he stepped gracefully out of the floo. Looking around and checking the wards to make sure they hadn’t been breached, he quickly followed the direction where Harry’s voice had come from. Upon entering their new bedroom, he was surprised to see Harry fluffing up a pillow and setting some of his usual belongings on the nightstand. Nothing was out of the ordinary and there was no one in their house besides the two of them.
Schooling his features into its usual calmness, Severus leaned against the doorframe, watching his husband. “Tired of me already, Harry?”
Harry turned his head so fast that it was a miracle that he didn’t get whiplash. “Severus!” ‘You’re in for it now... he heard you...’ His eyes went wide as he realized that Severus did, in fact, hear him cursing his inner voice aloud. Immediately, he forced himself to calm down and play along. “There was a fly that wouldn’t leave me alone.” He gave Severus a sheepish look, biting his lower lip. ‘Do you honestly think he believes you...? You can do better than that...’
Raising an eyebrow, Severus studied Harry again. He knew his husband well enough to know that a fly would not merit that kind of reaction. The brief panic that he felt from his husband concerned him, but he decided to go along with Harry this once. “I do hope that you took care of the problem properly then.” He removed the final few boxes from his pocket and enlarged them, flicking his wand to send everything to their designated places.
“Yeah...” Harry watched Severus finish putting their last things away before he turned quickly. “I’m going to make dinner.” With that, he walked out of the door, not noticing the concern that crossed his husband’s face or bothering to wait for a response.

The next few weeks passed by slowly. Severus and Harry spent much of their time together. They added to their new house during the mornings, spent the afternoons working on potions, researching, or doing something artistic, and they cooked together in the evenings before retiring to their library for talks, readings, or games prior to getting to bed.
Severus thought that their time together helped Harry as much as it helped him overcome his grief on their lost child. He no longer saw streaks of madness cross Harry’s handsome features on a daily basis. He always wanted to approach his husband about that particular subject, but every time he tried, Harry would insist that he was imagining things or change the topic. Severus knew better and it bothered him for a while but when he no longer heard Harry making out-of-place comments, he began to think that he might have been over-reacting.
Though they did not talk about it often, Severus knew that someday he and Harry would want to try to have another child. Those were his thoughts when he had woken up one morning with Harry curled against him before he decided to get out of bed and get a few of the weekly errands out of the way. He carefully slipped from the bed and silently went into their bathroom to shower and get dressed.
When he emerged, Harry was still sleeping. Smiling softly to himself, Severus leaned over Harry, whispering in his ear. “Harry...love? I’m going to the store. I’ll be back soon, okay?” His smile broadened when Harry opened his sleepy, deep green eyes to look at him. “Do you want anything?”
Harry smiled at Severus as he snuggled further into the covers. Covering a yawn and blushing, he nodded as he looked at his husband. “Some chocolate ice cream would be nice...” He grabbed Severus’ robes and pulled him closer, kissing him softly. “Please?”
Laughing softly, Severus shook his head at Harry. “Of course.” He closed his eyes as he nuzzled his face against Harry’s cheek, smiling as he pulled himself away. “Get some rest. I will be back shortly, love.”
“Don’t be gone too long. Bed’s lonely without you, Sev.” Harry told him as he watched Severus stop by the door and laugh some more. “Be careful!” When his husband nodded, Harry smiled sleepily and closed his eyes, burying himself further into the blankets and into the lingering scents that were Severus. ‘You’re the one that needs to be careful...’ “Gods, no... not again...” were Harry’s words after he heard Severus leave through the floo.
A few hours later, Severus returned home and stood just outside of the door to the house, planning to put everything away before finding Harry. He expected his husband to still be in bed as was usual when Severus went out. But what Severus hadn’t expected when he arrived from the store was to see Harry in the living room, screaming and breaking things. So the shock of seeing his young husband, raging and out-of-control, in their living room had Severus staring at Harry with his jaw dropped.
When he noticed there was a streak of blood on Harry’s face, he set his purchases down and immediately went to his husband. “Harry. Harry! Please?!” He ducked just in time as Harry threw a glass vase over his head at the wall, hearing it shatter into hundreds of pieces. Severus noticed the madness had returned to Harry’s eyes and he frowned deeply. “Harry! Control yourself!”
Harry turned to look at Severus, his eyes wide and a wild look about him. He heard his husband and he desperately wanted to listen, but that voice...that dreadful voice in his mind would not let him. ‘Don’t kid yourself... I’m stronger than you... he doesn’t want you...’ However, the pained and worried look he saw on Severus’ face made him feel otherwise. His heart yearned for Severus as he fought with himself. ‘Don’t do it...’
A choked sob escaped from Harry’s throat. He turned his pleading eyes towards Severus, for the first time realizing that tears were streaming down his face. Lifting his hand, he touched his face and then looked down at the red wetness. ‘Blood and tears... a lovely mix... aren’t they...?’ Suddenly angry, Harry growled at his inner voice before meeting Severus’ concerned gaze. “Sev... please....?” ‘What the hell do you think you’re doing?’ He ignored that voice and reached out a shaky hand towards his husband. ‘Stop that...’ “Severus... please...help me. Make me feel right again. Please?!” He begged, hoping that his husband could save him from diving further into the madness.
Seeing Harry as broken as he was made Severus’ heart stop. He refused to think of his life without Harry since after they were married. The way he loved the younger man was something that had shown how much Severus had changed. He wanted nothing more than to grab his husband the moment he entered their home and protect him from the insanity that was trying to consume him. However, he waited, knowing that one wrong move could result in tragedy.
The moment Harry called to him, reached out to him and begged for his help, Severus pulled Harry to his chest, wrapping his arms tightly around the young man. “I have you, Harry. I have you.” He ran his fingers through Harry’s hair. “I have you. I love you. I love you and I’m not letting you go. Never letting you go, Harry.” He whispered in his husband’s ear; the intensity of his words slammed into his own heart. He did not realize that tears flowed from his eyes as he pressed gentle, loving kisses on Harry, anywhere he could reach. He was petrified of what was happening but now he knew he was going to make it right. “I’m going to show you that you’re not alone Harry. That you were never been alone. Nothing is worth losing yourself.”
Harry clung to Severus, his sobs still harsh as he buried his face against Severus’ black shirt. He could hear the truth in those words and he nodded, not wanting to let go and not wanting to give in to the desire to pull away and throw things just to silence that voice in his head. ‘Come on...you know you want to, Harry...’ Growling softly, Harry forced himself to pull away from Severus enough to meet his husband’s eyes. “Please Severus... show me... love me... please.” ‘No!!’
Severus watched the struggle in Harry’s eyes. The love and desire to be happy once again battled the madness trying to take over. After a long moment, he saw the spark in Harry’s eyes win and return with a vengeance. He licked his lips and whispered with his silky voice. “Anything you wish, my love.” With those words, he brought his hands up to cup Harry’s face, staring at him intently before kissing him deeply, pouring his love, his desire, his energy, and his entire soul into that one, single kiss.
Moaning, Harry lifted his hands and placed them over Severus’ on his face. He returned the kiss with such an intensity that left him in an odd kind of wonder. He slipped his arms around Severus’ neck and pressed himself closer. ‘Stop it! You’re...’ ...destroyed. Harry’s cleared mind finished for his inner voice before he felt Severus’ hands slide slowly down his sides and cup his bottom, squeezing playfully before lifting him up. He wrapped his legs around Severus’ waist as he continued to kiss the man he loved. Pulling away slightly, he panted. “This is what I need, Severus. Please... save me...”
“Harry...” Severus’ obsidian eyes bore into Harry’s emerald ones, truly seeing his husband once again. There was so much he wanted to ask about what had happened but the look in Harry’s eyes told him that other things were more important. “Anything...” He carried Harry into their bedroom and gently set him down on their bed.
Harry shifted and knelt on their bed, watching as Severus slowly removed his black shirt, slipped out of his shoes and socks, then pushed down his black trousers, taking his silk boxers with them. He moaned in appreciation as he raked his eyes over Severus’ naked body. The man was still perfection in his eyes. His moan turned into a groan when Severus slipped his hands under his own t-shirt and caressed his skin.
Severus smirked as he pulled Harry’s shirt over his head and tossed it on the floor. Normally, he would torment his husband by folding the discarded clothing and setting them aside properly, but this was different. His focus was on bringing his husband back to where he belonged. He trailed his fingers along Harry’s sides, watching his face before he leaned down and kissed him deeply, amused at how Harry’s body instantly melted against him.
Pulling away from his lips, Severus began working wet kisses down Harry’s neck slowly, dropping to his knees to worship Harry’s chest. He splayed his fingers against his husband’s back, pulling him closer as he feasted on one of Harry’s nipples. Harry’s squirming and delighted moaning only made Severus groan in added pleasure.
“Gods... Sev!” Harry was not sure if he was in heaven or hell. Only his husband could play with his body in a way that both tormented and pleasured him. He tangled his fingers in Severus’ long black hair, enjoying the silky smoothness. He closed his eyes and tried pressing Severus closer, grunting when the man bit at his nipples before he felt a ripple of magic that left him completely naked.
There were few things that Severus loved more than the taste and smell of Harry, loving him and making love to him topped that list. When they were dating, Severus remembered being nervous when he thought about kissing Harry for the first time. He had spent years in servitude to either one psychotic dark wizard or one manipulative yet ingenious good wizard. Neither one of them caused the feelings of nervousness that the thought of kissing Harry’s full lips did. Once he had that first exquisite taste, Severus found himself addicted to Harry. Because of his addiction, Severus stopped his worship of Harry’s torso, pulled Harry’s head to kiss him deeply before he began tasting the rest of his body.
Harry tossed his head back, crying out in pleasure has he felt Severus’ mouth on his straining erection. The pleasure was unbelievable and Harry briefly wondered why they hadn’t made love since... ‘the unborn’s death... You didn’t want Severus to think you were flawed.’ His inner voice, apparently having had enough of torturing his mind, made him see the truth. ‘You’ve always known... you just didn’t want to acknowledge it.’
Knowing and accepting were two different things. But now, Harry realized, as he carded his fingers through Severus’ hair and moaned with pleasure, he had accepted the truth. He had been terrified. Scared of losing Severus. Scared of his husband seeing him as flawed after having been unable to prevent their unborn child’s death. Scared of not being able to provide Severus – and himself – a family. He shifted slightly, turning his head to look down at Severus, who was still bringing a remarkable amount of pleasure to his body while looking up at him intensely; Harry smiled softly. His heart felt lighter, knowing that Severus still loved him no matter what. The look of love and desire in those dark eyes warmed Harry’s heart and he could do no more than give his husband a wide grin, one that was honest and completely genuine.
Severus felt the change in Harry as he pleasured him. Finally, it all became clear to him why Harry did not encourage their making love. His husband’s fears made sense. But just as he was going to do something about it, Harry’s acceptance to the situation and determination to move on flowed through their bond and Severus knew that no matter how much he loved his husband at the present moment, the next moment he would love him even more.
Intending to show Harry how much he loved him, Severus shifted again, using a hand to silently summon their jar of lubricant. He opened it and slipped his fingers inside, rubbing them against one another before he turned his eyes up to meet Harry’s. At the same time, Severus took Harry deeply in his throat while rubbing his fingers at Harry’s entrance before slipping one finger in carefully.
A strangled shout escaped Harry’s throat as Severus simultaneously took him in deep and prepared him. His thighs spread further apart as he tried to maintain some of his balance; though, only his hands in Severus’ hair kept him steady enough. However, when he felt a second... then a third... ‘Oh, sweet Merlin, a third...’ finger enter his body, Harry felt himself trembling from pleasure. Another second passed and those three fingers were repeatedly pressing against his prostrate, making Harry let out a pleasure-filled scream that ended in a garble. “Severus... oh, Gods... Severus! Guh...” He cupped Severus’ face, gently pulling him away from his straining erection. “Please... now...”
The sudden urge to pout at the fact that his enjoyment was taken away was replaced by the sheer need to do as Harry requested. Severus nodded as he slowly pulled his fingers free from Harry’s body, smirking faintly at the whimper of loss that escaped from his husband. He quickly grabbed the jar of lubricant and slathered some of it on his own erection, groaning in pleasure at the slightest touch. He had purposely ignored his own need in favor of meeting Harry’s. Now that his husband asked oh-so-sweetly, what kind of husband would Severus be if he were to refuse?
Severus stood up, his knees a little shaky after having been on them for a while before he slid his hands over Harry’s sides. He pushed him back onto the bed, his eyes trailing over his husband’s gorgeous body. How Harry could have ever doubted himself, Severus would never know. But he intended to make sure Harry knew he was desirable. Crawling on the bed slowly like a panther stalking its prey, Severus took his time to nip various areas of Harry’s body, making his way to lie flush on top of him, moaning at the delicious contact. Severus’ body felt as if it was tingling just from being so close to Harry and he couldn’t wait to be even closer.
Harry moaned in pleasure. Seeing Severus crawl his way up to him was perhaps one of the sexiest things he had ever seen. To him, Severus was the most gorgeous creature to grace the Earth and he did not care what anyone else thought. Sleek, sweat-covered skin met his and Harry closed his eyes with a small smile on his lips. His body was on fire from Severus’ touch and he could not wait any longer. He wrapped a muscular leg around his husband’s waist, shifting his body enough so that their arousals brushed one another, making them both moan. “Severus...” He whined... and he pouted. He knew Severus could not resist that combination when they were making love.
Severus took one look at Harry’s face and knew what he had to do. His husband was so handsome when he pouted in their bed, moments before they ended up making love. This was no different. He shifted his own body again and lifted himself onto his elbows, looking down and meeting Harry’s eyes. The love and desire was there in abundance and Severus smiled. “I love you, my Harry.” And he surged himself into Harry’s waiting body, rolling his eyes back and moaning his pleasure at the exquisite feel that was only Harry.
Screaming. That’s what Harry realized he was doing. Severus’ body felt so good above him and in him that he could not help but scream his pleasure. He clung to his husband, his lifeline, like there was no tomorrow. He squirmed on the bed a bit to get Severus to move and that resulted in his scream turning into a pleasured moan. “Gods... this... perfect... Severus...”
He knew that neither one of them was going to last much longer. The intensity of their lovemaking was incredible and Severus was surprised that neither of them had lost it already. The thought flew out the window as he felt Harry move beneath him, with him, making each of his thrusts repeatedly hit that part of his husband that would have him seeing stars. Their eyes locked and Severus almost forgot how to breathe. His husband looked so handsome and so alive that he knew was going to lose it. Not willing to reach the heavens alone, Severus slipped a hand between their rocking bodies and grasped Harry’s erection, stroking firmly in the same rhythm of their bodies.
“Severus!” Harry could not help but shout his lover’s name when he began pumping his throbbing arousal. This was near perfection and he struggled to maintain eye contact with Severus until he could hold on no longer. Before giving in to the pleasure, he pulled down Severus’ head and kissed him hard, deep, and full of love and passion, pouring his heart and soul into that kiss to let Severus know that he was okay...that they would be okay. His body shook has he came and the pleasure shot through him with an intensity that made him cling onto Severus and never let go.
Watching Harry’s face flush with pleasure and then feeling all of his lover’s emotions with that single, yet amazing, kiss, Severus let himself go, one thrust after Harry’s release. He moaned deeply against Harry’s mouth, wrapping his arms as best as he could around his husband. Both of their bodies shook from the lingering pleasure and he did not bother moving away. Their passionate kiss changed into soft, loving kisses that sent continuous tingles throughout their bodies. Once Severus felt both of their heartbeats return to normal, he pulled away, smiling and brushing the backs of his fingers along Harry’s face; his undying love evident in his dark eyes.
“I love you Severus.” Harry whispered, smiling up at his husband, pushing back long strands of black hair away from those piercing black eyes. “Thank you for bringing me back to where I belong.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Things became easier for Harry and Severus. Their love grew stronger even after Harry’s temporary slip into madness caused by the loss of their unborn child – a madness that no longer stood a chance of returning with Severus’ constant reminder of his love for Harry. They remained working from home – Severus making and selling potions while Harry tried his hand at various arts. They returned to Hogwarts on occasion to meet with Headmaster Dumbledore and several others, though neither man wanted to return to their previous teaching positions.
On their tenth wedding anniversary, Harry and Severus invited their friends and family to witness the renewal of their vows at their home. The cheery celebration that was full of love and care continued late into the evening, even after all the guests had returned home. As they gave themselves to each other all over again, Severus and Harry felt the surge in pure magic flow within them, allowing them to know that Harry had successfully conceived.
And nine months later, when Madame Pomfrey assisted in the delivery, a beautiful baby girl with black tufts of hair and emerald green eyes greeted her proud fathers and the world for the first time.
Finis.
