2009 Round of snarry_holidays sign-ups!
Welcome to the sign up post for Snarry Holidays 2009! We will have open sign-ups from today, August 20th, through August 26th at 6pm EST--or until we reach our participant cap of 60, whichever comes first. If you dropped out of the last round or have had difficulties turning in your submission in the past, you might not be eligible to participate (only a very small number of people.) Please feel free to check with the mods at snarryholiday [at] gmail [dot] com if you have any questions about your eligibility.

We strongly encourage everyone to sign-up at IJ. If, for some ~~dire~~ reason you can't sign up on IJ, this post is mirrored on LJ and on DW

If you are unable to sign up because of time constraints during the sign-up period, feel free to e-mail us or to ask a friend to sign up for you by proxy.

If you have any further questions, please refer to the Rules and FAQs for Snarry Holidays 2009. Remember, everyone will receive their assignments on September 1!

Optional Prompt/s (up to three):

1. Harry returns to Hogwarts to teach ... something. While there, he rediscovers the Half Blood Prince's textbook ... and figures out a way to bring Snape back (from the dead, from hiding, whatever).

2. Time-travel. Everyone thinks Snape died. Really, he was sent back, or forward, to a place. Harry, in his grief and desire to tell Snape a few things, winds up in the same place. Severus is not pleased, but, eventually comes around.

3.Albus Severus returns from Hogwarts with fantastic tales of the Great Severus Snape. Harry assumes his son has been talking with ghosts and portraits - until Snape shows up at his house, looking like he's 36, and upset that he's alive. (I'm v. partial to this one.) The rest, is up to you.

I like plot with healthy doses of porn. The only things I don't like to read about are the things I've labeled as "squicks." The fic doesn't have to include all the "likes", but Snape and Harry must be recognizable from the books.

Genres, kinks, requests: Domesticity is cute.... As is established relationship. Making them work for a relationship is good too though. xD Um, all the angst you want is fine as long as it has a happy ending. I love either Harry or Severus being protective or insecure. Generally best when each is one of the above. : ) Protective is even better than insecure, though. I love it. ^^
Squicks, dislikes, cautions: Just stick with the rating and I think we're mostly good... Threesomes and twincest are no-nos, though, even if mentioned in passing. Oh! And no partner betrayal. Never ever ever. They'd just never do that to each other, sorry.

Strengths: I'd say probably narration over dialogue. Or maybe even not so much that, but introspection over action. The reflection, the "thinking" moments- I'm better with those. Not so much the Quidditch matches or fight scenes. xD
Squicks: Basically just need to keep whatever I write PG-13 and I'm good. No incest or threesomes, though.

For the gift that you will receive
Fic or art? Either/or. It’s all good with me.
Slash, pre-slash or gen: Slash or gen. Pre-slash leaves me frustrated.
Genres, kinks, requests: I’m a sucker for romances. If you add a dash of action/adventure, a pinch of angst, or a truckload of AU, it’s also ok. Kinks: bottoming from the top (especially Harry), slight dub-con, sex in risqué places (i.e. where anyone can walk in on you)… Once upon a time I had a kink for bondage with silk ribbons or the like. I wouldn’t mind revisiting it. What I’d really like to read is a well written ‘you’re the ‘u’ in my UST’, ‘bickering is love’ story. (But truth be told I’ll read most everything.)
Squicks, dislikes, cautions:Water sports and the like, as well as explicit rape scenes are a strong NO. Fisting, blood and breath play are in the grey zone. Harry/Severus death only if You can write it so that it’s not depressing.

1. Watch “Across the Universe” and write me the story it inspired.

2. To save Snape after the snake bite he takes his new, untested potion. He heals but gets the powers of an incubus as a side effect. As Harry struggles with his new feelings for the man and MoM’s attempts to make Snape their scapegoat, Snape himself struggles with his new powers and the inexplicable obsession with the Chosen One.

3. Harry Potter meets MD House.

Maximum rating: Be as explicit as You want.
Other info to aid in the creation of your gift: If You can make me laugh through the tears, I’ll make You life-sized chocolate Snapes’. (For reference read “What might be done” by LoupGarou1750.)

Strengths: Pure romances, twisting up a cliché (or so I’m told), I’m not all that bad with banter, and I was told my Snape is IC. (What I totally suck at is enumerating my strengths. =} This was bloody hard.)
Squicks: Water sports and the like, as well as explicit rape scenes are a strong NO. Fisting, blood and breath play are in the grey zone.
