A few announcements, while you're waiting on the edge of your seats for your assignments ...

There's going to be so much wonderful Snarry this holiday - your mods are incredibly excited! (Incredibly cross-eyed, from staring at spreadsheets for hours, but still incredibly excited!)

We have a few announcements for now, while you're all waiting to receive your assignments:

Firstly, we're very sorry to those people who missed the cap, but we're not able to extend the fest beyond 100 participants at this time. We'd love to have you, and we wish that we could deal with even larger spreadsheets ... but let us encourage you to sign up as pinch hitters when the time comes. You can still write for this fest, especially if you write fast. :)

Second, we're going to ask you to think about the person writing for you. It can be stressful, writing for a stranger and wondering if there are any likes or dislikes that didn't make it into their sign-up info (We've been there, we've forgotten to put info or been writing for people who have forgotten to mention these important details. It happens - if you're as crazy as your mods, you've signed up for several fests and some of these details may have slipped your mind.)

Of course, you have to feel free to e-mail us at any time once you have your assignment, whether you have a question about your recipient (we'll forward questions and answers happily) or a question about anything else. But, to make your mods' lives easier, and to make the life of the person who's being kind enough to produce a gift for you ... you might consider posting a list of likes and dislikes somewhere publicly in your journal. One of your mods, [info]chiralove, has posted an example here: just a simple list of pairings, kinks and squicks, but it can be more elaborate and include plot scenarios and the like if you want!

We want everyone to be happy with the gift they receive and pleased with the gift they produce ... having all the information necessary to avoid potential pitfalls can only be helpful. If you prefer not to do this for whatever reason, that's perfectly fine - we're suggesting it, not requiring it, but we do ask that you at least consider it. Think of how useful it will be for all of your fests. :)

Finally, let us introduce you all to our participants! We're thrilled to have so many talented writers and artists joining us for the holidays ... so thrilled that we have temporarily forgotten how to code! It's that exciting! Actually, we just didn't want to type the code 100 times...we do remember it.

Here's a list of this year's participants )

We're so happy to have you all with us, and we're working to pair you up with the best assignments possible! We'll let you know when we know - remember, assignments will be sent out by September 18th at the latest, and your creations will be due on November 6th ... so start to think Snarry!
