CHAMPION INTERVIEW # 32 - Beth H!
Original poster: snarrymod
Your Name (lj and/or Penname): Beth H (bethbethbeth)
Your Team: Team Wartime, baby!
1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
It was such fun last year, plus a lot of my friends were participating.
2. Which Harry Potter character is your favourite to write? To read? (any POV)
Definitely Severus Snape, in both categories, although I quite like writing Hagrid, oddly enough. Harry, in contrast, I find fairly difficult to write, even though I like him very much.
3.What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
The early stories in Telanu's "Tea Series" were my first exposure to...oh, you know what? I think that may be a lie. Now that I think about it, Resonant's story "The Familiar" might actually have been my very first exposure to Snape/Harry.
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
My first instinct is to laugh, but actually, Quidditch would be a kind of calisthenics, wouldn't it?
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work? What do you think is your best work? Would you link them here for us?
Oh, this is hard. The most underappreciated might be "Halfway House", but only because Snape/Hagrid isn't everybody's cup of tea (let me just say that this could almost pass for gen if you're scared of Snagrid) or maybe "Believe In You" (Snape/Lupin) which got sort of lost in the midst of all the holiday fests this year.
And my best work? Wow. Ask somebody else. *g* Okay, let's say either "In From The Cold" (Snape/Kingsley) or "The Mark of Cain" (Snape/Harry).
6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man' in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
Oh, absolutely (she says with false bravado). And not only that, but based on my August 2005 go at fortune-telling, Snape is going to survive Book 7 as well!
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
Personally, I prefer the news magazines like snapecast to stories read out loud (since I have a shortish attention span when it comes to listening to fiction), but maybe if Alan Rickman were to offer to read one of my stories....
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
Outside HP, I'd like to write Kirk/Spock in Star Trek or Duncan/Methos in Highlander, just because they're fandoms I loved but never wrote for.
In HP, hmm...is there a Snape pairing I haven't written? Maybe Snape/Filch?
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
I am so utterly non-kinky. I mean, I have read and liked just about every kink when written by good authors, but I don't have, as they say, bullet-proof kinks that...oh, I think I might have lied again. Does Spell-induced sexual desperation count as a kink? How about almost-public wanking? Drunkenness? Being strung up by ones...okay, that's enough. *g*
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
Yay!
Thank you, bethbethbeth!!
