Two Wizards Dancing
~
Severus sat, arms folded in front of him, waiting for the Unspeakable to finish his perusal of the Pensieve memories he'd proffered. When the man had quietly removed Severus from Auror custody the afternoon after the Battle of Hogwarts, Severus had gone with him willingly enough. At the first mention of the Doctor, he knew what the man really wanted. The room they were in was nondescript, deliberately that way, Severus assumed. It seemed something an Unspeakable would do.
The Unspeakable raised his head out of the Pensieve. "Ah yes, it really was the Doctor," he said. "I should have known. He does tend to pop up at such times."
"You know him?" Severus sighed. "He's an odd man."
"He's not actually a man."
Severus' head snapped towards the Unspeakable. "He said something about being a Time Lord, actually," he offered.
"He told you that?" The Unspeakable pulled out a parchment and began jotting notes. "Well, he's certainly decided to share a lot this trip, hasn't he?"
Severus raised an eyebrow. "This trip?"
For the first time since Severus had been taken into custody, the Unspeakable smiled. "You didn't think you were the first wizard to encounter the Doctor, did you?"
"I hadn't really considered it, actually."
The Unspeakable nodded. "Probably for the best. Right, well, I'll have to Obliviate you and then--"
"What?"
The man sighed. "Well we can't have you running about telling everyone about the Doctor, can we?"
"I hadn't planned to tell anyone."
"Not even the Wizengamot?" The Unspeakable was watching him closely. "Let me be clear. This is classified information. We cannot allow any discussion of him to slip into the public domain, even if it's information that will keep you out of Azkaban."
Severus swallowed hard. "I am accustomed to having to keep secrets," he ground out. "I have been a spy all my life."
The Unspeakable nodded. "We are aware of your history." He hesitated. "I am authorised to offer you a bargain. If you take a vow not to discuss the Doctor with anyone who is not already aware of him, we'll allow you to retain your memories of the past few days. You shall have to find a way to defend yourself from the Wizengamot charges without using that information."
If he lost the memories of the last few days, he would lose what might be his only memories of kissing Harry. The choice was easy. Severus nodded. "I accept."
"Excellent." The Unspeakable made another notation on his parchment. "Shame you didn't get inside his machine, though."
"His...machine?" Severus asked. "The blue police box thing?"
"That's the one. We know it's called the TARDIS, we even captured it once, but couldn't get inside. There must be untold wonders in there."
"Indeed." Severus kept his face impassive. Something told him now was not the time to offer that information. A better time would come.
Fortunately the Unspeakable didn't seem aware of Severus' nervousness. "Shame." He sighed. "One reason we have such difficulty keeping track of him is that he tends to show up wearing a different face each time, but it's clearly the same man. Do you know anything about how he does that?"
"Polyjuice I assume?"
"Not as far as we can tell." The Unspeakable slipped the parchment back into his robes. "It seems to be a part of his physiology. Anyway, unless you have other memories of the Doctor to share, I believe we're done here."
Severus met the man's eyes and shielded like mad. "That's it."
"Excellent. Then good day to you, Mr. Snape. And good luck at your hearing."
~
Severus looked for Harry as subtly as possible. He had said he would testify on his behalf. Bloody Potter. He probably got distracted by a Snitch or a broom! Or a pair of tits. Severus shuddered.
Exhaling, Severus tried to focus on his defence. If only Albus had left some tangible evidence of his innocence. I can share my own memories of what occurred, but I doubt they will believe them.
Harry had made it clear he was interested in Severus, but Severus had also made it clear that there would be no relationship of any sort if he ended up in Azkaban, which he thought entirely possible. Someone needed to be blamed for the mess, and as the Dark Lord was gone that left very few candidates.
Closing his eyes, Severus began to meditate. Something made him open his eyes in time to see Harry slipping into the room, Granger and Weasley next to him. Lovely.
To his surprise, Harry's friends actually smiled at him before taking seats in the gallery, and while Severus struggled to maintain a stoic mien, Harry walked towards him. "Sorry I'm late, had to testify at the Malfoy hearing," he whispered as he sat down next to Severus. "They were acquitted!"
Well, there goes another candidate for the public to blame. "Which ones?"
"All of them," Harry replied.
Severus raised an eyebrow. No wonder he'd almost been late. That must have taken some persuading. "You really do have a'saving people' thing, don't you?"
Harry blushed. "Maybe. I promised I would, so I had to try."
"Indeed." Severus again revised his opinion of Harry. Is he always going to surprise me? "People often say they'll do things and then don't, however. It's human nature, especially for someone like you, who is quite busy."
"You didn't believe I would be here?" Harry looked hurt.
Severus stared into Harry's eyes and swallowed hard. "People often say things in the heat of the moment that they do not mean," he whispered. "It's understandable."
It was clearly a day for shocks as, without hesitating, Harry leaned close and clasped Severus' hand in full view of everyone in the room. "I meant everything I said."
"Harry--" Severus tried to conceal their linked fingers under the table, but Harry wouldn't allow it.
"I'm not ashamed." Harry's face had the stubborn look Severus had come to recognise from years of observation. The one that said,'Don't bother to argue, I'm bloody well doing this'. Severus relaxed.
"Then neither am I," he said evenly. The resultant glow in Harry's eyes almost allowed Severus to forget that he was on trial. Almost.
"Let the hearing of one Severus Tobias Snape for the murder of Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore begin!"
Severus' attention narrowed to the faces of the Wizengamot members staring down at him, although the warmth of Harry's hand in his kept him calm.
"First witness, Kingsley Shacklebolt."
And so it went. To Severus' pleased surprise, Minerva, Horace, even Trelawney took the stand in his defence. When Minerva looked over at him while she told the judges that she knew he hadn't meant to kill Albus, Severus' hand inadvertently tightened about Harry's.
"Harry James Potter!"
As Harry rose, relinquishing Severus' hand, Severus felt cold for the first time since the trial started. The look Harry shot his way during his testimony was enough to combat that, however. Severus flushed, certain that everyone in the courtroom knew something was going on between them.
Harry's testimony was compelling, even the hardened and seasoned judges were hard pressed not to respond to the Wizarding world's saviour naming him a hero. Severus rolled his eyes surreptitiously as the judges, one by one, leaned forward and watched Harry's face intently. Fortunately, Harry didn't mention the Doctor. Severus wondered if the Unspeakables had got to him, too.
When it was his turn to testify on his own behalf, Severus stated his case slowly and deliberately. He admitted that he cast the Killing Curse on Albus, and stated the reason why, and the vow Albus had made him take. He said what he could about the circumstances surrounding the Battle of Hogwarts, eliminating all mention of the Doctor and not looking towards the corner where he knew an Unspeakable was hidden and probably weighing his every word.
The Wizengamot took just fifteen minutes to deliberate, during which Harry wasn't allowed close to Severus. Severus spent the time meditating and contemplating what he would do in Azkaban should he lose.
"Innocent of all charges!"
When the verdict came, Severus blinked, unable to quite credit that he was free. Like the Elder Wand flying to the hand of its master, Harry was at Severus' side, tucking himself under Severus' arm, snuggling in.
All around him, people were congratulating him, hugging him; Minerva, tears in her eyes, even snogged him, the first time she'd ever done that. Severus, gobsmacked, watched events unfold as if they were happening to someone else, all the while in the back of his mind the words'I'm free!' were repeating.
It was a bit overwhelming, the press of people jolting Severus out of his stupor. Severus and Harry fought their way towards the door until Harry, realising they were getting nowhere, nodded towards Granger and Weasley.
Harry's friends were apparently pros at dealing with the press. Seconds later the room was clear, and when Harry whispered something to Granger, she flushed and laughed. The next thing Severus knew he was being dragged into a small room next to the Wizengamot hearing chamber.
When the door closed, the silence was deafening.
"Are you all right?"
Severus' mouth opened, but nothing came out.
Harry smiled, clasping his hands. "I imagine it's a bit of a shock," he said gently, "but I knew you'd be set free, I just knew it."
Severus exhaled. "You've never shown any aptitude for Divination before," he rasped. "How could I have known this time you would actually predict something correctly?"
Harry laughed, shaking his head. "Shall we go, or do you want to stay here?"
I actually have a choice, Severus marvelled. For the first time in decades, my life is my own. He stared down at Harry. Except it's really his, isn't it? "I'm not sure."
Harry gazed up at him for a second, then, drawing back, began undoing his robes.
Severus gaped. "What are you doing?"
His clothes halfway off, Harry grinned at Severus, but the uncertainty in his eyes was clear. "Getting naked. I thought you'd want to celebrate."
"Celebrate?" Severus' mouth went dry as Harry stripped to his boxers. The bulge of his erection was unmistakable. "Are you mad? Anyone could walk in!"
Harry stepped close. "I think you need this," he said simply. "I think you need to know that I'm not going anywhere and that we're both free to do what we want now." Reaching up, he pressed his lips to the corner of Severus' mouth. "I know you thought you would lose and we'd be separated, but you won and we're together. So let's just...be together, yeah?"
"Anyone could come in--"
"No one will come in," Harry said confidently. "Trust me."
With my life. "Oh? And why's that?" Severus was trying to concentrate but Harry's hands undressing him were too distracting.
"I told Hermione we needed some alone time, I asked for ten minutes." Harry blushed.
"Ten minutes?" Severus' right eyebrow went up. "That's all? You don't have much faith in me, do you?"
Harry shook his head. "No, it's me I don't have much faith in at the moment. I'm afraid I'll come as soon as I look at you."
Severus smirked, eyes going heavy-lidded at the moan Harry made when Severus cupped his cock in his hand. "Come, then," he purred. "If I recall how I was at that age, you'll be ready to go again in two minutes."
"Want to come with you," Harry whispered, arching into Severus' hand. "Let's do it together, okay?"
With a naked and eager Harry against him and the sturdy wall behind, Severus could hardly say no. Undoing his own robes, he freed his own straining erection with shaking hands, groaning as Harry pressed closer.
Their pricks slid together, and Severus grasped them both, sliding his hand up and down, squeezing and pumping them as one. It was so much more pleasure than he got with his own lonely hand.
Harry's mouth was moving over his chin, his jaw and he was thrusting his hips in rhythm with the movement of Severus' hand. "God," Severus moaned.
"I can't wait until we get home," Harry babbled, his hand clutching at Severus' shoulders as he tried to get as close as he could. "To have you in me--"
That was it. Severus' cock spasmed in his hand and began to spurt, the slick semen making his movements easier. Harry cried out, shuddering against Severus as he, too, came.
Gasping, Severus leaned back against the wall, holding Harry close, carding fingers through his soft, messy hair as he caught his breath. Harry was cuddling, pressing the occasional kiss into Severus' neck.
A rap on the door made them both flinch. "Let's go home," Harry whispered.
A thrill went through Severus. Yes,'home' sounded like exactly where he wanted to be.

Pomegranate juice the colour of blood stained Harry's lips. Ripe, tempting. So tempting. Severus rubbed his finger over the corner of Harry's mouth, spreading the juice onto his lips.
Harry was stubborn, though. He wouldn't look at Severus; instead, he gazed off into the distance as if remembering his former life.
"Look at it," Severus murmured, his voice a whisper in Harry's ear. "So red, so juicy. You're so hungry."
Harry was weakening, Severus could tell. His lips relaxed infinitesimally. "Just a taste," Severus said. "Aren't you hungry?"
Harry nodded, then, eyes firmly fixed on Severus, he took a bite.
It was still raining, the ground soaking wet, but Severus didn't care. Potter's legs were now wrapped around him instead of taking aim at his head; this would be a satisfying encounter.
He thrust again, smirking as Potter moaned in response. The smirk disappeared, however, when Potter arched his back and tightened something that made Severus gasp.
"Harder," Potter demanded.
"Yes," Severus hissed, speeding up.
His orgasm took him by surprise, as always. He oughtn't be able to feel, yet with Potter, he could.
The first drop burned, yet Harry wouldn't stop. This was their only chance to be together, and after Harry's long quest to find Severus, he would endure any pain to keep him.
Severus' tongue wrapped around his and he moved closer to collect more of the egg's essence. Harry moaned. Severus felt so good and it had been so very long...
Once the last of the phoenix egg spilled out, Severus covered Harry's mouth with his own and they sank to the floor of the cave. "Phoenix...aphrodisiac... Sorry," he managed.
"Don't worry," Harry gasped, welcoming him. "Don't need it."
Everything had been leading up to this moment, Severus realised. From his claiming of his infant son from Lily's death-pyre of a house, to his defiance in the face of Albus' meddling, to the moment his Harry had finally confronted evil incarnate and, with Severus' help, defeated him.
All that had been life-changing, and yet they were both trembling as Harry faced his peers, took his seat, and was judged.
Harry closed his eyes. He's having a conversation in his head, Severus decided, watching him closely. When his eyes opened, he seemed content.
The Snitch tattoo on Harry's shoulder fluttered as if it, too, was excited by the sight before Harry. I can't say I blame it, Harry thought, feasting his eyes on his lover. His bound and blindfolded lover, who, while at his mercy was still in control. Somehow. Harry didn't know how Severus could do that.
"Well," Severus asked, lips curved in a smirk. "Are you waiting for an engraved invitation?"
Harry's hand clenched the whip reflexively. "You're ready?" he breathed.
Severus' cock jumped as if trying to give a non-verbal reply.
Severus ran his fingers through Harry's hair. It had been an emotional day, but they'd survived. Severus hadn't been sure either of them would.
Harry shifted in his sleep and Severus tightened his arms around him. It seemed to settle Harry, who once again relaxed, emitting the occasional soft snore.
The floor was uncomfortable, despite the abandoned cloak they were lying on, but Severus was hesitant to move. Harry had been working up to this confrontation for days, he deserved to rest.
Glancing at the clock on his desk, Severus smiled to see that Harry's hand was pointing to'safe'.
Harry opened his eyes, only to see Severus, who handed him a potion. Harry accepted it. "What happened?" he gasped, throat dry.
"A fire." Severus clasped his hand. "I almost lost you."
Harry sat up, closing his eyes as the room moved alarmingly. A moment later the bed dipped as Severus slid in next to him. "You'll never lose me," Harry whispered as he was gathered into Severus' arms.
Severus' chest rumbled with laughter. "Yes, you would be the type to haunt me," he said dryly.
Lifting his head, Harry smiled, brushing his finger over Severus' mouth. "Love you, too."
"Well, well," Severus purred in Harry's ear. Harry struggled but he was quickly immobilized. "What's this?"
Harry's eyes widened in consternation. The duel, oddly, had been arousing, and now Darth Snape had him trapped against the railing.
"Apparently you've enjoyed our encounter," Snape murmured, his hand... Harry groaned. Snape's hand was in his pants, caressing his erection! Harry swallowed hard. Snape was far closer than anyone had been in a long time.
"Let me go," Harry gasped.
"Now why would I do that?" Snape asked silkily. "It's time we bond, Harry. After all, I am your father."
Severus fingered his ear, raising an eyebrow. "Indeed. Your evidence?"
"You claimed you'd never played poker before, but you're winning." Harry's pout was adorable.
"It's a relatively simply game," Severus murmured, hiding his smirk behind his cards. "Surely you didn't think I would be confused by the rules."
"No, but I thought I might win one round." Harry sighed and stood up. "Looks like I'm losing my shirt."
Severus eyed Harry's taut stomach and recast his Winning Charm. It might be considered cheating, but it was worth it. Strip poker was definitely something he could come to enjoy.
Subconsciously, Harry'd always known but hadn't cared. So what if Severus kept strange hours? He was good to Harry, that was all that mattered.
That fateful night on the roof the blinders fell from Harry's eyes. Severus was Grendel. Grendel was Severus. Nothing in Harry's world was how it'd seemed.
When it was over, the other dead, Severus eyed Harry.
Harry silent, simply held out his hand, and here they were.
Running a hand over naked Severus' back, Harry sighed. This was okay, Severus was still being good to Harry, in his own way. And that was all that mattered.
Whoever'd said war is hell was right, Harry thought glumly. The fading memory of a single kiss months ago wasn't much to sustain one's spirit when on the front.
Wiping away his sweat, Harry dodged another bayonet. The battle was almost over, he could tell, but the state of the overall war was beyond him. All he had to do was avoid being killed. Severus wouldn't be pleased if he returned dead.
A ragged cheer went up and Harry looked up, a grin widening his mouth. The opposing forces were holding up a white flag. Finally!
He was going home.
~
Harry looked harder somehow. He's grown up without me, Severus thought, inspecting Harry carefully. War had made him tougher, clearly. He even moved differently, as if his body had changed. Severus hoped to explore those changes very soon.
For a moment, however, Severus hesitated. Had Harry found someone else? Someone younger perhaps, another beautiful soldier?
That thought had plagued his nightmares over the months, but now that Harry was back, standing in front of him, Severus didn't care, he had to touch.
"Welcome back," he whispered.
Harry grinned and lunged, and just before they kissed, he murmured, "Now I'm home."
It'd been a good day, netting them much treasure, the best of which was currently trussed up, arse in the air, emitting an occasional whimper.
The dice game had been hotly contested, but this prize, worth it. Severus smoothed a hand over the boy, eyeing his twitching hole. Unable to resist, he ran his thumb over it.
"Please--"
He even begs prettily. Severus smirked. "Please, what?"
The arse shifted. "Anything."
Severus raised an eyebrow. "Anything? Be careful what you ask for." Spotting the belaying pin, Severus smirk widened. "Very well," he purred, hefting it in his hand. "Anything it is."
Hermione sighed, waiting for the ceremony to begin. This wedding was a fiasco. Harry was clearly miserable and Ginny... Hermione bit her lip. Magenta was definitely not her colour.
"Ready for the show?" Ron whispered conspiratorially.
Hermione narrowed her eyes. "What are you up to?"
Ron winked. Before she could question him, the wedding began.
When Snape walked in, dressed in a hospital gown, and whisked Harry away, she stared at Ron. "You're the Secret Keeper. How'd he find us?" she whispered as Ginny raged.
Others might call it a nightmare, but not me. He's dead, I saw him die, and yet, in my dreams he comes, hovers over me, stares at me with hunger, fangs shining in the moonlight.
In those dreams I pretend to sleep as he slowly draws back my covers, exposing me. I've taken to sleeping naked for that reason.
Sometimes he bends over me, salivating as he contemplates where first to taste. Anywhere, I beg mentally. I hold my breath, waiting for him to take me.
One night I'll open my eyes, welcome him. One night he'll have his fill.
