Just when the black sorcerer's treachery seemed poised to triumph, a fiery young hero, Lugh the Longhanded, appeared on the scene to thoroughly upset everyone's expectations.

Oh, I've been waiting for this. How much do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love how the extra strips of tanned hide fold over at Harry's waist, the strong curve of his torso pinning Snape to the tent wall, the torque of his body and urgency of his hips, the fact that he hasn't let go of his spear, which pretty much implies he straddled Snape almost without stopping to say "hail to thee, oh king." I love that Harry's on top and Snape is arching upward, head tilted back and throat bared in a way that invites Harry to ravish him. And his mouth, good God. This is a man who's ravenous, starving. It's also the perfect angle to spill his hair down his back, which, um, erotic much? Let's take that as a given. Along with the serpentine texture of that braid, which seems very Slytherin to me. And his face is so Snape, so strongly contoured, so harsh and proud and unashamed of his need, and he's basically sex incarnate.

I also love that Harry's body jewelry is gold, with phoenix feathers fluttering from his spear's haft, while Snape wears silver with green gems and a snake collar at his throat. His silver-mail gauntlet is fantastic. I've expressed my deep appreciation before for the perfect curve of Harry's arse and its enviable position, for the trailing fringe of Snape's shawl that brushes his nipples, for the lightning-bolt facepaint that gives Harry such a wild, powerful presence - but let me say that familiarity has not diminished nor custom staled my ~~tendency to swoon~~ love. I have still more love for the subtle art that makes their age difference apparent, without resorting to clichés. And last but not least, my hand fetish highly approves of the way Snape's spread and be-ringed fingers pillage Harry's hair, steadying him in expectation of devouring his mouth.

So much passion and beauty in a single image. Damn it, I wish I could vote!
