A/N: First, thank you to the mods for creating the Games in the first place and for having the patience of saints. [info]leela_cat did a phenomenal job with this in a ridiculously short time. Whatever coherence the fic has is due to her heroic efforts and hand-holding. Also thanks to Team Phoenix for putting up with my fumbling captaincy and for helping to make this an enjoyable ride. *g* I love long fics myself. It's just that I've noticed grumbles here and there about the, um, embarrassment of riches in fic fests; also a few discussions on preferred length of reading material. Lots of fandom seems to want fics they can gobble down in one sitting, especially if there's pressure on them to vote. I do sympathize; I just wasn't thinking of it that way when this fic took over my life was being written.
