TEAM PHOENIX ENTRY: Pir8fancier "Stilllife"
Title: Stilllife
Author: [info]pir8fancier
Team: Phoenix
Genre: Post-war
Prompt: Miles to go before I sleep, Infidelity
Word Count: 37,155
Ratings/Warnings/Kinks: R
Summary: Snape is killed by Voldemort. But not really.
Author's Note: My usual stunning beta, [info]regan_v did the honors; my love for Snape is second to none. Except her. I heart her very, very much. This turned from a simple concept into a monster, so all errors, etc., are mine.

"Death did not make me stupid, Severus. You are in love with him, aren't you? The way you speak of him. Does he know?"

::headdesk:: D'oh!

Headmaster Potter! ::rubs hands together::

...and I must admit I went a little hog-wild. Never having traveled outside of Britain, I requested scenes of Greek temples, the African Savannah, the Irish coastline, Italian vineyards, Norwegian fjords, a castle in the Loire, fields in Brittany, a Buddhist temple in Thailand, a monastery in the Carpathian mountains, peaks in Nepal, the Australian outback, glaciers in Canada. The world was my oyster.

Wwwhhheeeeeeeeeee!!

"James is terrified of her."

Slytherin Lily?! Righteous!

I fell into my portrait and didn't move for hours, the grief was so tremendous.

...urgh...hasn’t he suffered enough?

My service to family of Potters and Evans would never end.

Poor Severus, paying and paying and paying and paying some more.

His portrait was a replica of my Slytherin bedroom, dominated by an enormous bed quite big enough for two men. Generally, I wasn't the sort of man to leap to conclusions, but I would say he had an agenda.

::sighs happily:: Finally – finally! – they are together. Oh happy day! It was a long and torturous road to at last get to this point. Lots of suffering and waiting. Words cannot express my joy and satisfaction.

The resolution of Snape and Dumbledore's relationship was excellent.

Draco presence in the story was well done.

Engrossing. Intense. Intricate. Multi-layered.

Brilliant! Outstanding! Peerless! An absolute masterpiece!

::Ovation::

YIPPEE! Thanks, it's nice when people do a line by line and you find out that the effect you, as the writer, were hoping for worked. Again, thanks so much! That line about being Snape being damned is really the crux of the entire fic. It is the HEART of the 37,000 words. Good on you!
