Change of Heart

Apparently Severus was against adopting, and all Harry wanted was a family, children, a home.

Harry’d pushed, and Severus capitulated, agreeing to look at the war orphanage.

A little girl charmed Harry immediately, yet Severus seemed unimpressed. Harry resigned himself to disappointment.

After a calming walk, however, he returned to find Severus, three children in his lap, playing.

“Oh, Mr. Potter!” The orphanage director was beaming. “Your husband has explained that in addition to Alice, you’d like her brothers, too!”

Harry’s mouth fell open.

“It would be criminal to separate them,” Severus said, eyes sparkling.

Harry smiled tenderly. “You’re right.”
