A/N: Is it sick and wrong that while reading about political theory (mutual assured destruction) of the Cold War Era, this popped into my head?
The chest he leaned against vibrated.
Harry slumped against it, boneless.
The breath was released as words. The voice at his ear was rich as honey, deep and dark and hypnotically, sinfully alluring.
Humming absently when the voice paused, Harry let it flow over him, imagining its silky smoothness caressing his skin the way its owner’s deft hands did.
Harry only abandoned his fantasy for reality when the chest rumbled, then moved, displacing him from the lap in which he lay sprawled.
“You have no idea what you just agreed to, do you?” Severus smirked. “Were you listening at all?”

Severus pulled the sleeping boy—Harry would always be a boy to him—closer.
He was neither popular nor handsome. But when it came to gaining and holding a lover’s attention, Severus had two advantages he used ruthlessly: his intellect and his voice.
He was aware of his voice’s effect on Harry; he was not shy about using it, to persuade, cajole, or seduce. Tonight Severus had done all three, and now he was free to indulge his weakness.
Tightening his embrace, he buried his nose in the bird’s-nest of dark hair and took a deep breath.
Home.
Peace.
Harry.
