“How’s dating Severus going?”
Harry groaned. “I think he hates me, Hermione.”
Hermione stared. “Harry, that’s not possible. He’s been in love with you for years.”
Harry sighed. “Every date’s a disaster. First, we went to that Quidditch match, which he hated, then to that wine tasting, which I hated... We’ve nothing in common, Hermione.”
She pursed her lips. “You know what they say. The way to a man’s heart...”
Harry looked blank.
“... is though his stomach,” she prodded.
Harry’s eyes narrowed.
“You mean, cook for Severus?”
She smiled. “You cook for him,” she predicted, “and you’ll both be cooking.”

“Thanks for giving me another chance, Severus,” Harry said, ushering him in.
Severus entered gracefully. “It could hardly be worse than our other attempts,” he said. “What gave you this idea?”
Harry smiled. “I got some wise advice. Shall we eat?”
The meal devoured, they sat together, talking quietly, finally communicating clearly.
When Harry, vibrating with need, leaned towards Severus, he was enveloped in a passionate embrace.
Several kisses later, an aroused Harry asked, “Why did it take us so long?”
Severus smiled as he carried Harry to the bedroom.
“Took you forever to find the way to my heart.”
