“Severus,” Albus hissed, the ghostly effect ruined by eyes that twinkled, even in death. Severus shook his head.

“Albus, what are you doing?”

“Haunting you.”

“Why? I did everything you asked.”

“He’ll make you happy, Severus.”

“Ridiculous. Plus, he doesn’t want me.”

“Severus...”

Severus sighed. “Fine! I’ll humiliate myself, since you’re determined...”

Knocking woke him up. As he dragged himself to the door, the vivid dream faded.

“Potter...?”

“Hello, Severus. Albus suggested I stop by...”

The twinkly-eyed ghost smiled as his name was bellowed down the hall. Harry will keep him too busy to care about me, he thought, satisfied.
