What: Their Vegas trip turns into an Alien Attack!
Where: Las Vegas, Alternate dimension of some sort.

Peter had one hell of a hang over, and the details of the night before were more than a little bit foggy. The details of which would no doubt start filtering back to him slowly over time. But as he looked out on the early morning sunrise over the strip he frowned looking out over the horizon.

There were lights, and not just the Vegas lights, not the neon of casinos and spot lights encouraging people to come out and spend their nights and days throwing away their money, but hovering lights, that were rapidly approaching. But even that wasn't enough to really clue him in - not until the first laser beam shot out of one of the ships (they were ships!) and blasted the replica Eiffel Tower did Peter get it.

They were under attack, here of all places. Hung over and not at all dressed for the occasion. This was his punishment he thought, for what he and Carol had gotten up to since their arrival.

"Come on! Move move move!" Peter was already moving, he might not have the suit and well he might not be from here but he wasn't about to let people get hurt.

[OOC Note: Okay, this is being run as a standard party thread, just use your headers in whatever threads you start, feel free to punch an alien or run and hide, save the princess, or steal in the middle of the chaos, whatever your little heart desires. And most of all have fun!]

Gwen hadn't been involved in an alien invasion before. She'd dealt with an army of lizard clones but this was definitely different. That'd been hard enough but this was on a much bigger scale. At least there were other people trying to fight them. She wasn't going to be a hell of a lot of good other than hand to hand hoping she'd land a hit or two but mostly she thought she'd be best at getting people to safety.

"Aw man," she said, feigning disappointment. "I was gonna be so stoked." And then they were being flung out of the way of falling debris. "I'm okay. I'd be better if there weren't aliens totally killing the vibe out here. Also if the air wasn't so dry. I'm tapped out of web fluid." She knew the make up of hers was different than his and the others. It was unlimited, except it needed moisture in the air to take form.

"I can fight on the ground, and get people under cover. Not gonna be much help swinging in this go around. Unless you want to just, I dunno, fling me from building to building and I can catch myself. That sounds disastrous though. Are they shouting? Are the aliens jabbering at each other? They're so loud." She made a face as she watched two of them going back and forth at each other. Gwen stood up and threw the large sign that'd fallen near them at the two aliens and smashed them both into the ground. "What's our next play, Alpha?"

"Sorry to disappoint." He huffed, but he got it - he'd have loved it, to find some universe where Spider-Man was the one and only Sonny Bono? Truthfully Peter wasn't sure he'd have been prepared for the reality of such a thing, but later when the aliens weren't trying to get them he'd enjoy the thought of that. But yeah, Gwen was right, aliens were totally killing the vibe. And they had to figure out a plan. One that didn't rely on Gwen's webbing.

"Uh yeah, Not big on the fling you plan either." He agreed cause he wanted Gwen to remain in one piece. He took a moment to listen to the sort of shouting that the aliens were doing, not sure what to make of it before Gwen took matters into her own hands and got rid of them shouting and all.

"I think we better focus our efforts on the ground." And not just because she was grounded. "Make sure the civilians are out of the way, and since these guys have made it down - see if we can't take out some of them while we're at it."

He grinned at her, "Think we oughta keep count?"

If she was being honest, she was glad that the Spider-Man she found was Alpha Peter because despite giving him copious amounts of shit (that was what little sisters were for) she actually really looked up to him. So seeing him in the middle of an alien invasion when she didn't even have her web shooters for help made her feel relieved. She was competent and capable, but he had more experience than her.

"Yeah, yeah, for sure," she said. "These aliens are really stupid looking. Are their brains really outside of their bodies? Are those fish bowls? What the f--" She stopped talking when she saw one of them totally obliterate a sign with a ray gun. "Oh my god!" At least it hadn't been people. "Okay. Okay. They.. We gotta get these people out of here." She could feel bad about it later. "Let's get these bastards. I've already got two. You better catch up, Parker!"

"Yeah they're definitely one of the worst alien models I've ever seen." Peter agreed, it was ridiculous, how did a race like this even exist? Surely there was no evolution that would lead to something like that, and if there was Peter had a lot of questions for evolution. Of course it was right about that time that they took out a sign and well - yeah - evolution or not they had a crisis on their hands.

"Two? You're gonna have to do better than that." He grinned and got ready to take out these two guys and any other aliens that got in their way today. Peter was hungover and his head was aching and he needed a nap and a glass of water in the worst sort of way, but before he got to that point he was damn sure gonna take out some aliens.

Gwen had wondered how long it would be before they'd end up in some sort of situation where their enhancements and powers and abilities and all that stuff came into play. She'd seen it a little with Jan in that possessed Target and there were probably a few other incidents she hadn't been a part of. The Werewolf thing, maybe, but this was way different. This was a full on alien invasion. They were needed. And it seemed like this place didn't have any local heroes to take care of it for them so it was just as well they were there.

"This goes far beyond the calling of being a friendly neighborhood Spiderling, I'm just saying! Although Em Jay's got some loud neighbors in her building that yack at each other like these weirdos so maybe not." She jumped up to avoid a ray of light, then aimed her foot at one and smashed through its fishbowl helmet to take out another one. "Ugh, so gross." She scraped her heel against a curb.

"Yeah it really does," Peter agreed - New York didn't often have to deal with alien invasion it was always some scientist thinking he knew best, some businessman who wanted to get a little bit more rich, some accident that got out of hand - this was just - yeah like Gwen said, beyond the calling of friendly neighborhood Spiderling.

"Well let's get rid of these guys and get back to town so we can go back to being friendly neighborhood spiders and not slightly less friendly world saving spiders." This whole thing was a mess, the aliens really put a harsh on what was already shaping up to be a less than great trip to Vegas, and Peter was ready to get home and shower this whole trip off himself and try and put things right.

The sooner they all got home the better.
