WHO: Kitty and John
WHAT: Beating the heat
WHERE: outside their house
WHEN: Today

The first thing that Kitty was aware of when she woke that morning was the heat, enough that it had her throwing the sheet off her body and shifting away from John in the bed before she was getting up and into the shower hoping a cool shower would help cool her off. But the heat lingered even though an early morning shower and the heat didn't seem to want to break.

Even their animals were feeling the effects of the heat, Kitty found Lockheed hiding in the the fridge before she coaxed him back out again. Kasai at least dealt with the heat more easily than the rest of them, built for it as she was. Kitty wished she could say the same, but the sad fact of the matter was she had not been built for the heat in the same sort of way.

"Come on you two," She said to Squirtle and Lockheed, "We're gonna try and cool off a bit outside." She herded the two of them outside with her, trusting John would find them soon enough. Particularly once she started laughing as Squirtle caught on to her plan and the cool spray of water cooled them all down.

And Squirtle had the same silly as hell innocent grin as Kitty. Those two were feeding off each other, and they knew it. John could feel it, being ganged up on by the pair. How unfair. "You two are both anarchist trouble makers." John laughed.

Taking the poke to his side as what it was supposed to be, John gave a look of apology. Despite his feeling for Snowcone, he liked Kitty and behave better. He'd try at least. Maybe a little. "My biggest disappointment about him not being here." John stated honestly. "Is that your friend is gone. I hate the guy, but you don't.." John knew it didn't make up for him being gone now. "I'm sorry he's gone." He offered a light smile.

Then he heard the phone make a ding. Weird.

Stopping he pulled the phone out and was hit by the very large message across the network from Clint. Interestingly enough. John turned his phone towards Kitty so she could read it, with a perked brow.

"We're innocent." Kitty insisted laughing, glad that Squirtle was happy to back her up on this one, playing along happily like he hadn't just been out here spraying them both down only too eagerly.

She smiled when John changed his tone just enough to show off just how kind he could be when he wanted to, and she kissed him for his trouble. "Thank you." John could hate Bobby if he wanted, though she'd prefer he didn't, but small victories.

What was more interesting than Bobby and John's feelings about him was the message on the phone. "Vegas?" She asked surprised but pleased. "Okay, change of plans, we are definitely doing that." She told him, leaving absolutely no room for him to disagree with her decree. "Let's change and then go check it out, there will be air conditioning there."

This was who these two were. Playful with a pet, and serious about a serious topic. They could do both at all times. Especially since their minor stumble previously. Sometimes you had to stagger to get better footing. That is what they did. They were able to grow so much from that.

Frankly, all John wanted was Kitty's happiness.

Welp! That was settled. They were on their way to the great desert city of Las Vegas! No complaints from John. There would be plenty to do, but most of all it was another adventure with Kitty that was appealing. Feeling her tug to go back to the house, John laughed.

"How can I argue with that logic?" Pyro said, following Kitty back to their home.
