WHO: Kitty and John
WHAT: Beating the heat
WHERE: outside their house
WHEN: Today

The first thing that Kitty was aware of when she woke that morning was the heat, enough that it had her throwing the sheet off her body and shifting away from John in the bed before she was getting up and into the shower hoping a cool shower would help cool her off. But the heat lingered even though an early morning shower and the heat didn't seem to want to break.

Even their animals were feeling the effects of the heat, Kitty found Lockheed hiding in the the fridge before she coaxed him back out again. Kasai at least dealt with the heat more easily than the rest of them, built for it as she was. Kitty wished she could say the same, but the sad fact of the matter was she had not been built for the heat in the same sort of way.

"Come on you two," She said to Squirtle and Lockheed, "We're gonna try and cool off a bit outside." She herded the two of them outside with her, trusting John would find them soon enough. Particularly once she started laughing as Squirtle caught on to her plan and the cool spray of water cooled them all down.

It was hot. It was so hot. John was dying in the bed he shared with Kitty and the moment she was gone, the bed was cooler. Double edge sword. Cooler, no kitty. But cooler and John immediately sprawled out to take up the whole bed in hopes it would cool him off.

He laid there for a long moment before he heard Kitty laughing outside. What in gods name? Sitting up, Pyro looked out the window for her, but could see her. With a deep long sign as he was already sweating, John went searching for his dearest compatriot. Finding shorts over pants, John followed the shrieks of joy and his pokemon talking to her.

That was when he looked out the back door. Seeing her and their whole household having a blast with Squitle doing his thing. The portable sprinkler. He was soaking everyone down, and running around chasing not only Kitty but Lockheed too. That was when he looked off to the side to see the Ninetales hanging out. "Not a fan of water, Kasai?" Which she held her nose up to the idea. Looking back at the fun being had, Pyro pet Kasai for a moment just watching the shenanigans unfold.

The day was going to be hot regardless, Kitty was fairly certain of that, but that didn't mean they had to be miserable about it and her afternoon was proving just that. She and Lockheed laughed as Squirtle chased them around in circles her shrieks of laughter ringing out. It was bound to draw John out sooner or later, and that was part of the point - to get him out of bed and cooling off with them a bit.

Sure fire might be John's thing, but this heat was something else entirely.

"You gonna join us?" Kitty called out when she caught sight of John, laughing as she pushed hair out of her face, dripping wet as she stood there dripping wet, her shirt clung to her as she tugged at it Squirtle shot at her once more and she shrieked again laughing.

"Not me!" She told him, "Get him!" She pointed her finger at John where he stood off just watching for the moment, rather than joining in with their fun.
