Who: Nyx Ulric and Natasha Romanoff
When: Three minutes after this.
Where: Around Town.
What: Nyx meeting the new Natasha.
Rating: Fairly low.

Nyx wasn't normally one for welcoming people, but with the town brimming with this strange disease, and Tony being tied up with his own things regarding that, and Ritsu taking on some of his duties he had taken on, the Glaive had some spare time that he could lend out to show the new woman about. Allowing her to take in the sights and the things she may need to know or not to know. Really, Nyx didn't know what the hell he was doing so he was sort of winging it.

Now the tea was easy.

Since Ritsu moved into the house, tea had become more regularly done, since Nyx wasn't just making it for himself. At any given moment there was boiling water being made, and with the help of BB15, their electric kettle worked incredibly well. That droid was wonderful to say the least. So, tea made, in a thermos, Nyx scooped up his belt with the kukri's on them and out the door he went. Normally he didn't feel to be armed in town, but he wanted to travel quickly and to do that he was going to warp about. Thermos under one arm he drew a weapon from his sheath spun and threw it towards town center. While the blade spun high through the air, he took the time to attach his weapon's belt to his body and then allowed his magic to yank him through the air and reformed grabbing the weapon through the blue energy dispersion, and one more throw his weapon was soaring into the town center as he appeared catching it in midair, then landing with a slide from the speed of the trajectory. Thermos in hand, he looked at his wrist where his watch was. Well, damn good. Just under three minutes. At that point, Nyx looked about for the woman he was to show about.

The illness that was ripping through the town was something alright. Though, Nyx refused to leave anyone to their own devices at the time of need for most. Not everyone had someone to look after them or give a shit. Or some were shoving everyone away from them because of the risk of seriously harming someone, like Carol. Nyx wasn't having any of her shit during this time. Regardless of it, it didn't seem to be jumping person to person in it's current form. It seemed like if you were going to get it, you got it. There was a raise in his brows. Dressed to pry the information out of him. Now that was intriguing, but Nyx only kept his same friendly smile in place. "Well, that's interesting. Why dress differently, when you could just ask later?" It was basically an open invite for them to cross paths later on. "I mean, unless I'm just that horrendous to deal with." Nyx let his smile spread some at that.

A polite nod to the thank you and he continued along their way. Especially over the last couple days he had a chance to really learn where people were and certain important people. So while they made their way about, he pointed out places of interest other than the three normal hot spots in between their conversations. Nyx slightly shrugged. "Honestly, it's so second nature to me that I don't even think about it. Someone has a weapon on them, that makes sense." Nyx nodded some. "There is an elegance to hand-to-hand combat. Possibly raw." The things about blades though, were the precise nature. Firearms were a thing where he was from, but it just felt so... barbaric. Uncivilized? Being able to shoot a man dead, while there was the option for a more honorable combat was something that never would likely sit well with Nyx. That being said, he'd shoot a person multiple times if that was the weapon he had and he had to protect himself or another. There was no time for judgement when lives were on the line. Sometimes, you just dealt with the hand you were dealt.

While Tasha understood the pocket dimension things, where he didn't even understand it fully was nice. It meant he didn't have to stumble through explaining it in simple terms it was explained to him. "Tactical simulation?" Nyx inquired politely. "Like training?" It brought back memories watching the new recruits learning how to warp and use the magic at their disposal along with the combat training. Well, most of those from his home had that part down in some fashion. As she asked to backtrack for a moment, Nyx stopped and faced her so he could give his focus on her statement or question, but ultimately smiled at her shifting his self deprecation of being lowly. "I... haven't actually gone looking for anything for myself." He shook his head to her. "I am typically on the hunt for someone else." Truthfully, he didn't really need anything more than what he had.

"That is true." The Glaive matched her gaze. "There is plenty of time to be had." For him, a lifetime. "Though many are working on getting people back to where they come from." Then Nyx's face got a little sad. "One of the bigger mysteries at hand, is we've had people vanish without notice. One day here, the next just gone." He frowned heavily, the notion obviously bothering him.

Natasha sort of just looked at him, what a ridiculous way to put something. Mostly on her part, but the way he took it in stride was quite endearing. She shook her head and waved it off, "of course I'd like to ask later, although," her eyes were made big as if there were some far off comical worry, "you might not want to be around me, which would be understandable."

The pause and the beat in conversation was just nice, it wasn't a quiet that Natasha felt the need to fill out with idle chatter. "I have to think about it more often than I'd like," she shrugged a little while they went on, "clothes and close quarters dictate things not be bulky in case of you know, x happens - and x almost always happens," no matter who would try to argue differently with her, there was always room for prep and weaponry. She took in a big, deep breath of the air, it smelled fresh, but not quite the kind of fresh that you'd find in the great wide open or the woods or anything. It was, well it was interesting. "It's not something that I engage in very often, but there is an element of, there's a kind of adrenaline spike there that the other ways just don't really match up with, y'know?" -- she was sure he did, was the thing. While she was trained and proficient in knives, it just wasn't something that she was all that interested in - a clean shot from three buildings away? That was clean, quiet and impressive. At least in her estimations. Though she'd never begrudge anyone who preferred the up close combat style over her methods. But then on the other hand, she was also a big fan of hanging people in meat lockers, so really it depended on the day.

"Yeah, actually," she brightened at the question. "I knew someone who got pitted against a bunch of other people a few years ago in this big battle simulator that wasn't quiiite the same as this but," her tongue clicked, "it wouldn't surprise me. Although pocket dimensions don't either, so. I am surprised at all the different people, though," humming softly with a bit of a skip in her step -- of course that changed when he'd said he hadn't looked for anything for himself. She knew that story, or at least a song that was very similar. "You don't even want like.. cake," the question was absolutely innocent. She wanted to ask if anyone ever asked him if he wanted anything, though with the names that were kicked around in conversation, she doubted very much that he'd be left in the wayside like that.

Natasha's face fell a little, the poor thing - he didn't seem like he liked the idea of people leaving all that much. She tutted under her breath, "some people will want to go, some'll want to stay, it's a lot quieter here than it is back home, so, you can't tell those things -- " she stopped and found a tree to lean against with a stretch, "yeah I think.. the legitimate boy genius said something to that effect. It's strange that there aren't -- I mean it's not, you guys don't seem to know when the shipments are coming so why would the higher ups say when anything's leaving," frowning a bit, she uncapped the tea and took another long sip. "Have you been here very long, if you don't mind my asking?"

Now this was a fun twist in conversation. Nyx scoffed a small chuckle. "I do believe firmly, I would be quite comfortable in your company again." Nyx promised lightly. "You are by far not the worst person I've met here, and I think this..." His finger gestured to the pair of them. "Will be an incredible friendship." It was just facts, to Nyx.

There was never a moment of need in their conversation. Dead air wasn't heavy or felt like it had to be filled, in fact it was just comfortable. Nyx would admit, he felt at most ease with people who were also military folks, considering they knew his mentality. Probably why conversations flowed so well. Plus it was little peeks into this woman. Such for him, he was a soldier, and often on battlefields. On occasion on guard duty or even infiltrating a facility or at the end an airship. Regardless of the what, he wore the same uniform, but it was also fairly well fitted for him. It seemed for her though, depending on what she needed, her wardrobe shifted appropriately and so did her armament. Very interesting. "Regardless of where and what." Nyx started. "There has to be preparation or readiness. Something is bound to happen at any moment." While she explained the adrenaline, Nyx found himself understanding her words almost on a spiritual level. He nodded. "I do." He confirmed.

"Hm." Nyx muttered to himself. "I'd be interested in this tactical simulation or what did you call it?" Nyx didn't understand most of this technological talk. It reminded him a little of Tony and all the nonsense he rattled off about this and that with tech. Also, not being caught off guard from pocket dimensions was also weird for Nyx. Was his world so far behind others that it was lacking? Nyx didn't feel that, but it seemed like most people had experienced these things where Nyx was left in the dark about it. Truly inconvenient at times.

Nyx took a moment to think about how to answer the question. "It's not that I don't want things, I just don't aim for myself." Nyx admitted. "I seek out things that I think people may need or want, or if someone has things they're looking for, I go looking for those items." The Glaive looked to Tasha. "All these people are away from their homes, and wanting to return. I figure if I can make it just a tad more comfortable, and offer a friendship... then I am doing more than not." Nyx offered a smile. "So until they can go home where they belong, I'll just do what I can." Nyx laughed a little. "And the so called higher ups are dicks."

Nyx pointed out a few more people's houses then answered her question. "I've been here for about two and a half months or so."

Oh, she very much wanted to ask him if he'd ever been accused of being a bit of a romantic, because the way that he was wording things - it just seemed to wind in that direction. There were worse things to be, after all. "You don't know that," countering, "you might hate the kind of music I like," nodding like it was the end all answer to all things, "causes big rifts between people where I come from, at least when you're in your twenties," unable to stop the absolutely unattractive snort/giggle that came with that statement, she waved her hand, "excuse me," between giggles, "and I laugh at my own jokes."

"You would think that and you would be right," this would have nothing to do with the times that Maria Hill tried to confiscate her private armory - except it absolutely did. "Unless of course, you're just being shown around in a completely unassuming place with a new person who has a very flashy knife," gently teasing Nyx again while she looked up at the sky from where she was leaning, "then it's textbook calm and there's nothing to worry about." It was interesting, this person, this incredibly sweet, welcoming person who very well could have tried to take her head off if he'd wanted to seemed incredibly gentle, but you could just tell that the rigors of warring things and fights and battles were written all over what he'd projected. She wouldn't want to be on the business end of that knife though, she knew that much. It seemed like another instance where it would just make her heart hurt a little more, there were things you did on your own accord of course, but people didn't say things like lowly without other influences.

She considered what he'd said for a moment, "what she told me about it was - this guy had backers, people who were paying to watch, it was like ..do you guys have gladiatorial combat? It was like that and he had a ringer and they wound up killing off the other.. four people? It was a mess," she tutted and shook her head. "If it's all the same, I hope you don't wind up in something like that," giving him a small, genuine smile in the process.

Natasha held the thermos out and shook it a bit, "hydration, come on, I've been keeping you out, you have to share," before listening to the rest of what he'd said. "That's acceptable," it wasn't, but she wasn't going to push it. Too many people that she had good relationships with were dangerously selfless, and it did sort of sound like that was the direction his words were going. "But what if they hear you," whispering not so quietly, "no, they always are, that's not surprising. ..that's not very long at all, so, you could potentially still find the way out, yourself, right?"

Nyx? A romantic? Hardly. He just figured he was just a very real person with very real feelings, and just expressed himself wholeheartedly to people. Not quite heart on your sleeve situation, but life was much too short to hide your feelings. A slow smile crept across his face. "Though, the thing that truly brings people together is differing in personalities and interests. Sure, there has to be some similarities, but if we all loved and hated the same things." He glanced to her. "Then it'd be quite boring." Then that snorting giggle brought a nice smile. It was cute. "If we don't laugh at our own jokes who will?" He chuckled lightly.

When she made a comment about being toured around by a man with a flashy knife, he reached behind him and revealed a second one. "Two flashy knives." Nyx commented as he flipped the weapon in the air and catching it by the blade and holding it out to her with the handle facing her. "Where I come from, you do not only worry of the impending war, but the deamons at night." He just shrugged nonchalantly. "It's a way of life, really." Though one thing she was correct on, was he was insanely lethal with his weapons of choice. Though as he said, it was just the tip of his lethality considering the magic he had at hand. Though, just because he had all the power at hand didn't mean he should use it so frivolously, and he just didn't see himself anymore important than the next person.

He was just a simple man, simple soldier, that used his abilities to help others.

Gladiatorial fighting for ones amusement, was disgusting when it involved death. Sure, feats of strength between equals in hand-to-hand combat was a thing, but that didn't end in death and after you shook hands and were still friends. "That's horrible." Nyx conveyed. "Lives are not supposed to be thrown away needlessly." It really bothered Nyx.

There was a polite smile as she insisted that he partake in the tea. No harm, no foul. Nyx took the thermos and a swallow of the tea. It was quite good, but he wouldn't admit it at this point. Though as she made her whisper about him being heard there was a kind smile. "Then it would be a pleasant surprise." Nyx confirmed, but his face grew incredibly grim at the prospects of himself going home.

Nyx shook his head. "That isn't possible." He was at least almost certain. The Glaive looked to Tasha with dark eyes. "I'm dead."
