WHO: Nebula and Quill
WHAT: Meeting during the plague
WHERE: Around town
WHEN: Today

Nebula decided that illness was not something that she appreciated, though she was not in danger of losing her memory the way it had felt in the first couple of days, she was still not feeling well - the way it lingered and left her feeling weak and less capable than she was normally left her quick to anger. She had snapped at Gamora though she knew that it was not truly her sister's fault for her situation.

She needed to get out of their home for sometime, she had heard on earth that fresh air could be good for one's health, so she would see if she could find some of that sort of air. She walked slowly, trying to decide whether or not she had found the fresh air she had heard about frowning as she went.

"Quill," She called out when she caught sight of him near his home. "Where is the fresh air?" She asked him as she approached with a little more determination in her step than she had felt up to that point. "I require it."

Nebula glared at Quill's assessment of her looks, Gamora was right they should just kill them all, Quill included. But that was likely the aches talking and not the part of her that did actually have some measure of affection for Quill and some of the other Terrans.

She looked around them when he told her the fresh air was anywhere outside and breathed in deeply, "No - this air is not fresh." She insisted, "It smells no different than the air inside our home." And if it truly were fresh she had no doubt it would smell better, different in some way to what they were breathing in regularly. And if this was fresh air she would feel better now as well.

"You don't look like shit," She said after a moment of internal debate about the quality and healing properties of the air around them. "What have you done?" She asked eyes narrowed as she looked at him with some measure of suspicion.

Yeah, that was maybe a bit of a harsh assessment of the situation at hand. Quill most certainly didn't think he'd done anything offensive enough to die over. Not today anyway. Heck, not even in the last month or so.

"It is fresh air," he said, shrugging apologetically. "They call it that because it's out in the open instead of the same stale air that's in your house. There's a breeze. It's fresh."

He rose an eyebrow though, a little unsure of the sudden accusation. "I didn't do anything. I had a cold before, but it's gone now. What did you do in order to get sick?" he countered. And then, because he couldn't help himself, "Is Gamora okay?"

She considered what he had to say, taking it in with a measure of displeasure at his explanation of what made the air fresh. "How can this air heal Terrans then if it is the same as all air?" She asked then because it did not make sense, there was no healing happening as she walked around out side breathing in this air instead of the air inside her home.

So he had been sick, but then it was gone. That did not make sense, she and Gamora were still sick and it did not seem that it was simply going to disappear no matter how well they hydrated or rested or sought out fresh air. "I did nothing. It was done to me." By who or when she didn't know but someone or something had tone this to her, it was nothing she had done.

"My sister is sick as well." She said her tone softening a little more. She knew Quill cared for her, and she knew on some level that all of this was not Quill's fault, any more than it was the fault of any of the other Terrans. Well maybe not all of them - she felt certain there could be blame laid upon at least one of them.

Peter looked around a little quizzically like maybe the sky or air might give him an answer to her questions. "I don't know. I don't really think that's a thing. Like, maybe just getting out of your house is the thing to make you feel better?" At this point, it wasn't like Quill remembered much stuff to do with Terrans other than what he'd drilled into his own brain to remember -- but that was all pop culture. Ninja turtles and footloose and the best music. An eight year old version of him didn't know anything about Earth health and wellness, so it stood to reason that now neither did a 30 something year old.

"That might be true," Quill said, frowning. "But I don't know if it's from anyone here. The doors won't open. Seems suspicious." He had spent some time poking around looking for answers - he wasn't completely useless.

It really, really sucked to know that Gamora wasn't feeling good either, but he'd figured as much and didn't want to make himself a pain in the ass when she probably just wanted to sleep about it. "Is there anything I can get for you both?" He asked, trying to hide his sad puppy expression.

She frowned, that was not the answer that she wanted to hear. "Terrans. Are. Idiots." She said after a moment of sitting with that knowledge. She hated it, hated the feeling of this illness weighing on her and making her slower and ache-y. This was why they should have been in space, she'd never gotten sick there. Never encountered anything that could not be fixed with a quick diagnostics run and a readjustment of her limbs. But here she was with these lingering symptoms that no amount of hydration or fresh air seemed to cure.

"Very suspicious," She agreed when Quill told her that the doors weren't opening either, she and Gamora would have to put their plans to find new weapons on hold until a little later when they were opening once more. There was some force at work, one that not only pulled them here but also made them sick. A small part of her feared Thanos - that something he'd done had created this place, and put them all here. Maybe to get them out of his way. But it was too involved, Thanos might have been strong, and even brilliant in some ways, but he was not a man for plans with so many moving parts.

"Hydration." Nebula answered immediately when Quill asked if he could get them anything. "Gamora favors tea, the green kind." She added because she knew that he would want to provide for her most especially.

To be fair, there was a part of Quill that didn't really disagree with that. As much as he wanted to because he was from here (well, not here, but most people here were from earth), well. Most Terrans did seem pretty dumb these days. Not their fault probably, they hadn't been to other planets yet or anything. But they were. He just gave a vague sort of shrug right along with some raised eyebrows that probably said more than words ever could.

"Hydration," he repeated, standing up a little straighter because he was a man on a mission, now. "I can do that. Green tea. Got it." COFFEE had tea, he was pretty sure. It was true, he did want to provide for Gamora, but it wasn't like he was a monster, okay. He liked Nebula well enough, and kind of thought he could get to liking her even more. "And you? What's your fave?"

While Quill was perhaps more than Nebula would have chosen in a partner or a friend, he was eager. And that might have been the sort of thing that would grate on her regularly, under the current circumstances though - it was perhaps exactly what they needed. And she knew her sister would appreciate that. It was a small thing, but Nebula wanted that for Gamora, wanted her to find those kinds of connections once more and see what she could become now.

She nodded when he made note of the green tea, that was most important. As for her - well Nebula wasn't sure about favorites. She paused to consider it for a moment, what would her favorite be? "The green tea tastes like grass." She said first, Gamora might like it, but Nebula did not think it was as good as her sister thought it was. "The tea called chai is better. I like that kind."

Yeah, he was eager. And even before now, back when things had been normal he'd been pretty attentive on top of being overly chatty. He couldn't help it, the feeling like he needed to fill the spaces of silence with extra. Or to just remind people he was still there. Whatever. It was what it was.

"It does taste like grass," he admitted a little ruefully. "And most the rest tastes like... more boring hot water. But if it's what you want." Quill would get it for them and not question their obviously wrong judgement (even though it was obviously wrong). "I can do chai. Probably. Yeah. I'll find some." He paused, considering. "And you know. It might be better if you enjoyed the stupidly named fresh air while sitting on your porch?"

"Sometimes boring hot water is exactly what is required." She did think he might be right about the hot water part of his estimation about tea - but she would not say as much. That they agreed about green tea tasting like grass was enough for now. That and his agreement that he'd find tea for her as well in her chosen flavor.

She was surprised when he suggested she enjoy the fresh air on her porch but nodded. "Yes." She decided after a moment, that would be better, she was tired and she didn't want to continue wandering around the town for something that clearly did not exist in the way she had imagined it. "It will be better." And with that she turned on her heel and made her way back to her own porch where she could maintain her fresh air pretense and rest some as well.
