Peter made his way to the strange house at the end of town that everyone proclaimed would travel from one world to the next, a thing he found to be strangely odd but nothing too out of the ordinary for him; he'd been to so many random 'dimensions', timelines, alternate timelines, realms, whatever, that it was becoming something of commonplace for him. This was to him as going to Europe every few years was for a group of friends who got together only once those few years for that one trip--that was oddly specific. Man his brain was difficult to crack down.

Especially when meeting up with Gwen. He'd only met this Gwen a handful of times in one of those few reality hopping incidents, and while they'd finally grown to an understanding, it didn't change the fact she had her face. A face that both haunted and pushed Peter any time he spent even a tiny amount of time thinking about it. It was moments like that, or Captain Stacy, Ben, Jameson's wife, whatever and whoever had been a death caused by him, that hung like a weight around his shoulders. People didn't realize how much Peter held back his punches, and Peter didn't realize how much of the baggage he carried held back his punches for him subconsciously.

Sketchers carried him across the road towards the aforementioned building, wearing a pair of jeans and a button up flannel shirt, which was worn over his spidey-suit, and with backpack slung over his shoulder, Peter approached and came to a stop near the front of the complex. Looking up at it, his head tilted to the side a bit, then he looked down towards one of the last remnants of his time as a CEO, his Webware watch, checking the time, and then turned to drop his back on the ground and lean back against the wall, kicking a foot up behind him, onto the wall, and waiting for Gwen to arrive. He then popped out his phone and began to play some Candy Crush.

Any situation involving Peter Parker of any variety was always going to carry a bit of weight along with it. The Peter from her world haunted her everyday back home. It wasn't his fault. Being accused of murdering him, seeing it written in spray paint across billboards, having it published in newspapers and broadcast on news stations. The most devastating, though, was hearing Uncle Ben and Aunt May talk about it when she'd visit. Spider-Woman was a murderer to them, and that just made it all the more painful for her. She could've told them the truth about what Peter had been doing, and how everything had happened that day. She had all the answers to the questions they had, but giving them would only hurt them that much more and she couldn't -- wouldn't -- ever do anything to tarnish the memories they had of Peter Parker.

It was more than that, though. It was having held Peter as he took his last breaths not once, but twice. The first with her Peter, the second with another Peter Parker who'd been driven mad by the death of the Gwen in his world. It was enough to really do a number on her mental state. Being here helped, though. So many Peter Parkers running around actually was good for her. Even though it was jarring, understandably so, she was getting used to seeing his face without feeling like her heart was shattering.

That was why she'd offered to go exploring with this Peter when the time came. She needed this, and maybe he did a little bit too. So she'd gotten up that morning, ready to face the day alongside Peter, to explore some Pokemon territory and maybe find some things that they could use in town for one thing or another. She'd gone through the doors a few times now, but it never got old.

Doubling the bottom half of her Spider-suit as leggings and ballet flats, she pulled a long tank top and a cropped black leather jacket over it, and let the hood of her suit drape down the back. She tucked her hair back with a black headband and soon was arriving to the weird house where they doors were. Gwen found him there, leaning on the wall, and for the briefest few seconds her heart did ache. But she strolled up to him with a smile on her face anyway. "Gotta catch'em all, right Parker?"

Peter swiped a couple more times through his phone when he heard the voice of the other Spider-person on her approach, game immediately shut off and his eyes jumping towards her. There was a very swift moment where he hesitated at seeing her. Different universes didn't do much to change the appearance, and that was definitely Gwen Stacy's face looking back at him. Still, it was short and quickly a smile grew in response to her own.

"Well, maybe not all of them. There's quite a bit now, and I'm more of an OG guy myself," Slipping the phone into his pocket, he pushed off the wall and moved towards her, snatching up his bag along the way to throw over his shoulder, "It's good to see you. Even if the circumstances of our being here aren't all that ideal."

He watched her for a moment, then nodded back towards the doorways, "So I'm not sure anyone's mapped these, it's probably all random anyway, but any particular region you were looking forward to tackling yourself? Any particular Pokemon tickle your fancy?"

The 28 year old looked back towards and up at the building, eyeing it a moment, always a bit worried about their crossing over. It felt like any time could suddenly be the last, someone could get trapped or worse. It was messing with forces that very few truly understood, and no one understood well enough.

There was a kind of reality that Gwen had picked up on that the web most Gwen Stacy and Peter Parkers were tied in had a mixture of closeness, love, and tragedy. It was sad, terribly so. Gwen didn't want that to be what she and Peter connected on in this sort of reality they were in together. He was older than her by a number of years and Gwen didn't know his story. He knew Alpha Peter had a different sort of connection to the Gwen he knew -- which still might actually be her, they just had no way of knowing -- but she didn't know exactly what this Peter's story was. Nevertheless, he was a Peter Parker. That made him special.

The circumstances weren't ideal, though Gwen had her own reasons for not exactly complaining about being there. "The OG Pokemon were the best," she agreed. "I haven't kept up recently but it's gotten pretty excessive. I actually brought one home the other day with me from a later generation, but she's awesome."

Gwen followed his gaze and drew her jacket a little tighter around herself. Much as she wasn't that worried about going into the Pokemon territory, they really couldn't be too careful. Plenty of other people had disappeared and thre was no way to know how or why it happened. She and Peter could go through and not come back, and that wasn't a thought she liked to keep in her heart. It'd be fine. They'd be fine. She said it in her head enough times to believe it.

"I'd love to see some of the others though. They're pretty cute. I've been to he snowy place and a couple of the other cities. So you pick. We can go anywhere you want, Parker." She smiled at him.

The stories of Gwen and Peter were almost a creepy, sad, and tragic cycle that just never ended. They were fated in all universes to grow close, and one of them to die in some way to or with or around the other. It was a weird thing to know, and one that Peter was more than happy to break knowing this one. He wasn't sure if this was the Gwen he knew from his adventures against Morlun and the other Living Vampires, but she was Gwen, and he'd already made piece with one Spider-Woman Gwen Stacy that he'd not let his own past cloud interactions with a new one.

He chuckled, "There's got to be like thousands of them now, I don't even know how one would catch them all at this point... and which one did you manage to pick up?"

Moving towards one of the doors, he stared for a long moment, seemingly going through the pros and cons of each, when finally he just started doing the whole eeny meeny miny moe thing, and eventually settled on one and moved towards the door, pushing through into the Kanto region.

"So if we get stuck here, and can't come back? I'm just going to go ahead and say I'm retiring from Spider-Man and going full Pokemon trainer," And through the door he stepped, letting the warped realities mess with his head a bit as pressures and the oddity of just traveling through a different reality settled, and finally he stepped into the almost... cartoony world, "Holy crap, and I was expecting this all to be like very real."

The only Gwen and Peter she knew of who ended up together in the end were the ones from the world she'd been in before she wound up here, and that was only because they wound up together in death, which was a pretty morbid thought. Maybe, since this world was such an anomaly, they could beat the cycle and all the Peters and her (or any other Gwens that might show up) could stay alive and coexist without any issues. So far, so good, except for the time one Peter left, then came back.

"I wound up with a Sylveon who wanted to come back with me," she said. "I named her Sandy West."

The idea of going full on Pokemon trainer wasn't a bad one if they got stuck on this side of the doors. She hadn't really thought about that, and would really miss Mr. Stark and a handful of other people if that was the case. But it was a little late to worry about that now. "We can go on a Pokemon journey together," she said, smirking a little. It felt a little foreign, but also oddly familiar walking beside him. It must've been a Peter Parker thing, because she got that from Alpha Peter, too.

"It's weird, but also really cool." Up ahead she saw a few Oddish walking in a line, chanting their names. "Look!" She laughed. "There has to be like half a dozen of them."

"Sandy West?" Peter inquired, curious as to the meaning behind the name. Perhaps a reference to something that he was not privy to? He glanced back at her at the inquiry, then back towards the Oddish as she pointed them out, grinning and shaking his head, "Ah man. I want to be the very best."

He joked, and just watched them not trying to approach them for fear of scaring them off or something. Instead he just gazed until he noted a Pidgeot shooting past in the sky, making a gesture towards it, "We sure won't have too much of a problem with finding them, man."

As he moved through the field with Gwen, he looked over at her once more, "Did you want a Sylveon or was the fact that it followed you like it was choosing you or something? Also, did you get a pokeball, or did you think it was unnecessary? What the hell do they do in those things anyway?"

Now he was curious about grabbing one just to pull it apart and see how it worked. What happened to a Pokemon when it was pulled into the ball he wondered? Then shook his head, "So uh, how've you been enjoying our little home away from home?"

"Yup," she replied. "Drummer from The Runaways. Kinda like to honor women drummers and that was the first name that came to mind." Her Sylveon had seemed to respond to it and liked having an actual name so Gwen had just gone with it at the time.

Her eyes turned up to the sky to see the large bird streaking across it. It was pretty exciting, being in a world where Pokemon actually existed. "Oh, well, Mr. Stark gave me a pokeball in case I needed it but she just kind of came to me. I think she was sad. I don't really know why. I thought maybe someone had her as an Eevee and maybe she evolved into a type the owner didn't want? I don't know. That's totally reaching. But regardless, she seemed sad and I didn't want her to be alone." It was nice having her as a companion. "I dunno what they do in the pokeballs. I guess they sleep in there? Maybe they shrink and it's actually not that small for them inside. I guess they'd have to shrink regardless."

When he asked about her specifically, Gwen looked up at the sky again. Some Pidgeys were flying in a flock together. "It's been um.. Well, it's complicated. I miss my dad back home. And the Spider-person in me knows I need to be back there doing what I was doing, even if people didn't really like me or thought I was bad. But I also like it here. I like the people I've met. I don't want to lose them, and I will, if I get taken back." Sometimes she felt selfish, but she couldn't help it. "Then again, me not being home means my dad is safe, so, maybe it's best I'm here." She looked down from the sky and over at him. "What about you? Are you adjusting?"

"Nice. Favorite band, favorite drummer, or both?" Peter probed, eyes scanning the cartoonish horizon ahead of him, he could see in a field off in the distance some Tauros running, as well as other Pokemon of various types and sizes, it was actually quite spectacular to see in real life. As they moved towards the city in the distance, he slipped hands into his pocket and watched her.

"Well a Pokemon that follows you without needing a pokeball would definitely be nice; though, I'm going to be absolutely stuck on what happens in one until I find out now... and did Stark make it or did he grab one? Never know with him." Peter was still off about Stark. Back in his time, he and Tony had had quite a deep, close relationship and then that had been squandered by several instances of betrayal and heavy disagreements. Then Tony had kind of pushed against a great deal of his friends. They'd worked together again, and had been mending that relationship, but he still didn't feel like he could trust Tony. Peter had to remind himself that the Tony here wasn't his Tony, and he needed to not judge.

"Yea, I also feel like I'm shirking responsibilities by being here, but then again this seems like it's an important thing to deal with too: the fact we're even here is something big and reality breaking, which could affect all of our realities eventually. So, guess we'll have to try and face it and hope that what friends we have back home are taking care of themselves and what needs to be taken care of."

When Gwen asked about his adjusting, Peter shrugged, "I'm doing alright. I've gotten used to suddenly winding up in a place, or situation I wasn't expecting and having to deal with it. I miss home, and my time, and really hope everyone's okay. I guess I kind of fear that if this happened, what other things could have happened in our realities? Is something else happening? Was this maybe more intentional than we thought, are we trapped here while some crazy alien race is taking over our world?"

Peter thought, "I live in an unhealthy mental state."

"I feel like it's a betrayal if I say my favorite band isn't the band I'm in. Or was in. I guess maybe still am in," she said, and scrunched her nose. Honestly it wouldn't shock her if they'd tried to replace her by now. Although, the girls had apparently thought about it before and ultimately decided she couldn't be replaced? But that was a long time ago, so there was no telling. "Anyway, The Mary Janes are kinda like the Runaways, so my mind kind of went there when I named her."

As he went on to talk, Gwen glanced up at him and listened. It was still so strange to her, even after meeting a number of Peter Parkers, that he was a Spider-Person like her. Although, apparently she was the anomaly. Her and Miles. But they all sort of seemed to be on the same page. They were here, not home, and that was hard because they knew the responsibility they all carried. It was hard, sometimes, to reconcile that she wasn't at home being Spider-Woman, trying to take down Matt Murdock and Frank Castle while also kind of working with them to clear Spider-Woman's name. But being where they were, all of them at once, with more people coming and going all the time, Gwen had so many questions. Was there a reason they were all being brought to that place? Was there a reason some were being taken away? Was there a method to who was selected to come to town? What was bringing them there? Or who? Had they all really been plucked out of their worlds? Or were they just parallel versions of themselves, split and brought to the town? She didn't have anymore answers than she did when she first arrived and it was a little unsettling, but it was also out of her control. That, for her, was the most frustrating part.

Gwen placed a hand on his arm, and offered a little smile. "Me too. I think that's a Spider-thing," she said. "I think the hardest part is the not-knowing. We don't know what's happening back home, and we have no way of finding out. We don't even know how we got here, or why. I try not to let it get to me, because, well, I can't do anything about it. But that's even more frustrating. I don't like having to accept that. You've been at this longer than me, and I know I'm not.. I mean, I know I'm not her," she said, referring to the Gwen he'd known. "But I get it. I get the toll of the responsibility we carry so.. I guess what I mean is, I'm here."

"I think you can have a favorite band that's not your band. Like, if someone asks me who my favorite super hero, I'm like, "well being Spider-Man's pretty cool, but Captain America's amazing." So is Captain Marvel. That's why they're captains--by the way, they should absolutely be promoted at some point," Peter offered as they walked. He had to admit he was getting used to the idea of walking everywhere rather than swinging. He rather missed the swinging, but there weren't a lot of swinging options around them at any point. Unless one of the doors took them to a random large city.

The touch to his arm had Peter smiling and he looked back in her direction and nodded, "Thanks. The not knowing is the worst part, I have so many people back there who are counting on me and I'd hate to think I'm failing them. Then again, there's obviously something important happening here and maybe this is the place we need to be. I don't know. But funny you should mention not knowing, I am working on some way to try and at least get data from another reality. In particular mine, because I have some basis there. So far I can get a couple songs here or there, but they won't play the whole thing and it's fleeting."

Shaking his head he cleared his throat, "But enough about back home. Like you said, there's nothing we can do about it right now and we currently have other people relying on us to help out, so we can get that done. So let's brainstorm: power is pretty easy with Tony's reactors, but I suppose some electric Pokemon could help there. Maybe a water type? Grass type could help us grow things... any idea?"
