WHO: Sirius Black and the gang (so really, basically everyone is welcome here!)
WHAT: ADVENTURES, ROMPING. POKEMON.
WHERE: The Alola Door- Hau’oil City
WHEN: Saturday
RATING: Low

Sirius had waited until later in the day, because that was when Miles got off of work -- a strange concept, but who was Sirius to disagree with it when he got hand delivered coffee out of the deal? And in the mean time had invited plenty more people to just show up with them and check things out. No reason not to -- buddy systems were all fine and good, but going as a group had plenty of merits too. Divide and conquer, shouting loudly, never running out of people to chatter at, the usual.

Mind, he'd went and grabbed his best mates for coming along too, James and his Remus. They had to be there.

And it was worth it, all that (little) effort of coordination, once he opened up the door and a tropical scene of palm trees, bright sun and a sprawling city that boasted a beach nearby all stretched out before them.

Perfect. It was absolutely perfect.

And so, of course, he was quite pleased with himself. "Beach eventually, you all!" he decided, stepping through and oohhhing over the sunshine. "You won't believe how brilliant I am at a doggie paddle."

Sirius had recognized this guy as the younger version of the corn chip that ran around in the very early mornings, and everything had fallen into place from there. Only joggers worried about stepping on glass and nails without shoes, obviously.

He was still on the look out for more of those little animals, but sometimes it was nice to take a step back and see the forest for the trees, or whatever that saying was. The point was, it was lovely here. Like a proper holiday.

"Will you swim?" He asked, and it wasn't like he wasn't 500 percent loyal to Remus in every way, shape and form, but that didn't mean he couldn't hope another bloke might take his shirt off now and again.

Steve was busy surveying his surroundings that he'd zoned out the people he was with. Normally, he could multitask but the surprise and wonder of the location had gotten the best of him. So, when Sirius spoke to him, it startled him just a bit. "Sorry, what?" he asked with a chuckle. When the words finally sunk in, he blinked and shrugged. "Uh, I don't know. I hadn't packed for that." A small excursion that might involve a scuffle? Yes. Fun in the sun? No. Perhaps, though, that said a lot about his life.

He cleared his throat. "I take it that going for a swim has now shifted to the top of your list?" he asked with a half grin. Steve knew not everyone's priorities were the same. For some, venturing through a door was a pure thrill seeking adventure. Perhaps it was just the soldier in him that kept him cautious and nervous. Venturing into new territory was...sometimes hard. Especially when there were so many unknown factors.

It certainly did say something about his life, and it was nothing that Sirius might have approved of. Mind, he was always ready for a scuffle, and only ever needed one item in order to be. He could wear swim trunks at the same time, even. Occasionally, Sirius felt some real pity for those who weren't wizards.

"We can find swim wear," he pointed out, gesturing to the place. "Look at that tree. It's tropical. They sell things like that here, no doubt." Because yes, now that Steve mentioned it, Sirius did very much want to go down to the beach. "Isn't it on yours? What would you rather do?" He wasn't necessarily asking because he'd bend his own opinion, but because he was curious.

"Uh, I don't know," he replied. "I wasn't sure where we were going to end up." He rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled in that Oh Gosh, Gee sort of way that Steve sometimes did when he got genuinely flustered. This was, by far, the most confusing event. He'd prepared for all sorts of things since he'd been taken on ice. Sure, things were fine and dandy, even a bit silly, back at the academy, but that was the safety of the academy. More often than not, there was need to prep for the next mission and any excursions often involved having his suit at the ready and diving in to coordinate the team where he could because villainy was afoot (wow that sounded old timey). This? Popping into a place where that was, basically, paradise? At least on the surface? If he were honest, put him a little more on edge. What was the catch? What was lurking about that wasn't sure of?

"I was hoping, I guess, to get a lay of the land before I relaxed too much," he replied honestly. "No sense in letting your guard down and all of a sudden giant robots fall from the sky and start causing destruction." Because that happened once, you know. He tilted his head, though. "But hitting the beach after exploring a bit does sound like a nice idea. We'd probably have to figure out how to get money. I doubt that they'd barter for things." From his experience, very few cultures bartered anymore.

There wasn't always a catch. Sometimes paradise was just paradise. But then, Sirius Black was pretty spectacularly great at finding the silver linings in situations that others might be wary of. Maybe sometimes even to a fault.

But he was cocky for a good reason; he was one of the most talented wizards of his time, and ever placed he'd visited since ending up in Starklandia had been pretty much magic free. He was at an advantage, and he didn't think that was going to change here on the beautiful beachfront.

Of course, he was also used to the level headed thinking of Remus (who he might not have always agreed with, but loved enough to just take his caution and words of advice anyway, usually) and so Steve's caution wasn't really all that surprising. "Alright alright," he said with a huff. "We look around first. Then when robots don't come and murder us, we get to the beach. And find money." That wasn't hard. Sirius simply needed to see whatever the currency was in order to duplicated it and then they could go from there. Was was cheating, but he wasn't morally inclined enough to care in a situation like this. "Easy. C'mon, let's check the --" He paused, as a little owl with what looked to be a bowtie made of leaves flew past them. "Oh?"

Steve merely chuckled and gave Sirius a bit of a nod. "Deal," he said. "Where would you like to begin?" They were, after all, at a bit of a crossroad, weren't they? This new land was their oyster. Or something like that. The money part though didn't seem as problematic. Back in the day, you offered a few people some help in their stores or with some chores, and many were fairly kind about it. But then, that was 30s. Today? Who knew. Still, even if they didn't get money to spend, the experience was what mattered.

Before Sirius could finish his thought, their attention was stolen. With wide eyes, Steve watched as a little owl-like creature soared above them. It was...adorable. It even had a bowtie made of leaves, and he half-wondered if, perhaps, the owl belonged to someone who had an interesting choice in pet attire because it wasn't like the animal would choose that for himself, right? "Whoa." It was the only thing he could think of to say. It certainly was not like any of the owls he'd ever seen. It was certainly rounder. Almost cartoonish. Certainly a bit larger.

Whoa was right -- Sirius would agree with that absolutely and he stared after that bird who'd flown toward a little patch of land that seemed more nature laden than the beach and city ahead of them.

He chewed on the inside of his cheek for a moment and tilted his head one way and then the other in thought - not completely unlike a curious puppy. "New plan," he said after a beat. "I think we should go on a nature expedition." Listen, you couldn't just see a cute little bow-tied owl and not want to see it again. That was silly.

New plan? Steve hated plan Bs if he could avoid them, but... Well, it's not like they were at war or anything. "What're you thinking?" he asked. He smirked, though, as he heard the young man's "plan" for a nature expedition. But, in fairness, Steve's curiosity was piqued as well.

"Well, that is part of recon, so..." He motioned for Sirius to take point. "Lead the way, fearless leader." Something told him that the kid would do whatever he wanted anyway. At least they'd get to see examine the creatures. He wondered just how many people put bowties on their owls in this place.

That's right. He was the fearless leader. Sirius tilted his head in general agreement with that declaration. And if to prove it he a) fixed his hair behind his ear and b) brandished his wand before stepping away from the beach (sad) and into the brush of bushes and sundry.

He didn't see any more owls, right away sadly, but the place sounded a bit of nature which seemed good enough to him. If he was alone, he might have gone to Padfoot mode in order to check things out better. "You're awful stuffy for someone so young," he decided as they snuck along. "What's up with tha--oh look!" No little bow tied owls, but there was a cute little blue lion... thing nearby.

In a lot of ways, Sirius kind of reminded him of Tony. Loud. Self-absorbed (though he'd gotten better recently). But personable and just a tad bit showboaty. He chuckled and let the young man take the leader. Keeping his eye out for unfriendlies. Just in case. When Sirius spoke, he shook his head. "I'm closer to 100 years old than I am to 18."

However, he stunned to silence as his eyes fell upon a ... blue lion creature. It was...adorable. That was the second strange creature in about a minute. He half-wondered if the reality they were in was just over run with them. Which begged the question: what kind of reality was this? He shouldn't be entirely surprised. After all, he'd encountered Lockjaw. A big giant alien bulldog that belonged to the Inhuman.

"That's weird," Sirius said, glancing back over his shoulder. "You know that's weird, right?" Wizards tended to live a long time, but by one hundred, they'd start at least showing that age. More than showing it, really. But whatever. If he wanted to be stuffy and old, that was his own business. Just so long as he never yelled at Sirius about being on the wrong lawn.

He flopped down so that he was sitting criss cross in front of the little lion creature (and boy, he did like lions, even if he'd never really met one before, and knew that generally they weren't blue) and sat surprisingly still for a young man who rarely did that sort of thing at all. "He'd really cute," he said to Steve, even if he was still looking at the creature, it's weird star tail and all. "What do you suppose it is?"
