Sirius had waited until later in the day, because that was when Miles got off of work -- a strange concept, but who was Sirius to disagree with it when he got hand delivered coffee out of the deal? And in the mean time had invited plenty more people to just show up with them and check things out. No reason not to -- buddy systems were all fine and good, but going as a group had plenty of merits too. Divide and conquer, shouting loudly, never running out of people to chatter at, the usual.

Mind, he'd went and grabbed his best mates for coming along too, James and his Remus. They had to be there.

And it was worth it, all that (little) effort of coordination, once he opened up the door and a tropical scene of palm trees, bright sun and a sprawling city that boasted a beach nearby all stretched out before them.

Perfect. It was absolutely perfect.

And so, of course, he was quite pleased with himself. "Beach eventually, you all!" he decided, stepping through and oohhhing over the sunshine. "You won't believe how brilliant I am at a doggie paddle."

Sirius really needed to give Miles lessons in cool, he thought, because the poor kid was amped to eleven over just about everything. Not that Sirius wasn't too, but he did it while wearing sunglasses and leather jackets, so it was clearly very different.

Well, that and the fact that he wasn't as impressed with magic, since that was what he'd grown up with. Animals certainly had it where he was from, although he didn't know that many people tried pitching them against each other. He wasn't sure how he felt about that, even though it was in a park and seemed like it was meant to be a good natured sport. He'd have to find Remus and get his opinion.

"That is brilliant, that," he admitted of the shape-shifting blob-y one. He liked an animal that could turn into a different one -- obviously. "What do you think they're fighting over?"

"Dunno," Miles was looking around for some clues. There were people cheering on either side and two people holding balls that looked very determined. He bet they were the owners.

"I think it's some kinda game?" Then it occurred to Miles as he made a face. "Whoa, you don't think this is like a dog-fighting ring, do you? Like, they make them fight?"

Actually, that's exactly what it looked like. And Miles was a little bit horrified. "That's messed up."

Sirius glanced over at Miles, a little curious over his reaction. "I don't know," he said thoughtfully. Sure, it looked a little like a dog fighting thing, but also kind of not. There was nothing vicious going on, not really, and there were mostly children in the crowd of people watching -- most of them with their own little animals next to them who looked rather happy themselves.

"It might just be a game," he said after a beat. "This seems pretty public for a seedy underground sport, innit?"

"So...pro-wrestling." Miles noted, too, the others were watching. Some seemed to be waiting to fight. He cocked his head as one of the yellow ones zapped the fatter one with what looked like electricity. People cheered at the spectacle, and when the other one went down, someone hurried over to check on them. It was alive, whatever it was, just dazed.

Miles wanted to ask more questions, but the people were now starting to move around a bit as the little yellow one hopped up and down in victory, the owner patting it on its. And Miles immediately wondered aloud. "I wonder how you get one."

Because, of course he wanted one of his own. This looked so cool, how could he not? "Do you think they're like pets, or..what?"
