Who: Kitty Pryde and St John Allerdyce
What: A date? Maybe? Kinda? Sorta?
Where: At John's to start
When: Friday!

Dinner. It was such a simple thing and yet as Kitty made her way over to John's house that evening she couldn't help but wonder what exactly she was getting herself into. Things would be so different if they were back home. She'd have still been sorting out things after Piotr and well there was the school to consider and well - he was dead. So she supposed trying to fame this in the context of being back home it was a moot point. This never would have happened there.

But she couldn't help the comparison, maybe it would be a little like Bobby inviting the new Pyro to join the team, bringing him to the wedding. How weird was it that she could find these kinds of similarities between her life and Bobby's after everything? Too weird maybe. Not that it stopped her from agreeing to dinner, or made her want to not spend time with John. He was a little rough around the edges maybe, but he was trying and that was something.

So there she was at his door once more, this time without plates and bottles and all the things she'd had the last time she'd been there. Just her on her own. Maybe she'd run the brush through her hair just a few more times than usual that evening, but she was allowed.

Breathing was overrated. Pyro wouldn't mind suffocating just a little to keep kissing her, not that he'd admit that. That was insane after all. The way her fingers weaved with his, and the soft feel of her hands made him glance at their hands combined. There was a lot going on in his head, that John knew he'd have to work through. Nothing bad, but particularly what all this meant. It wasn't like he bounced into intimacy very well. "Well, I think you're absolutely crystal clear, Kitty." John said with a smile. "I'm pretty slow, but even I can get this one!" He laughed lightly.

Though the greatest thing about them, and this was the fact that he didn't have to worry about the Brotherhood pulling him away from her to do something that she'd disapprove of and all this would be ruined. It was just them, and that was all he needed. Though, he'd have to figure out that intimacy thing.

Looking over towards the backdoor, he smirked. That was when she came to cheer him up, and they drank well into the night and danced. That was just the thing he really needed, and she took upon herself to deliver. She was truly too good for him. "I think that would make for a nice way for us to finish the night." John looked to her. "I've been told I'm real good at starting a fire." He touted with a smile. One quick kiss to her mouth, and he moved from her. "You head on out, and I'll be right there." Sliding from her he went and fetched a throw blanket, just in case, and then using his abilities, he pulled out the fire from the candles to his hand and once stepping out the back door, he tossed the flame into the fire pit of his engulfing the flames.

"I got you a blanket, just in case." He offered unsure how to present it.

They could do this, Kitty decided, they had both taken the time to be open about what they were feeling, there would be more chances for that of course, but this was a good first step. And when John teased that he could be good at making a fire, well Kitty just laughed softly. "I'll be out there." She promised.

Letting him go and take care of a few things, Kitty made her way out back once more, to the same spot where she and John had their last very good night, it had been fun, despite the rocky start. She'd laughed and danced and for a little while forgotten all about all the things that normally filled her mind with worry every day. And instead she just let herself have fun, with Pyro of all people. He was such a surprise.

And when he offered her a throw, she couldn't help but smile in the warm light of the fire. "Here," She reached out for it to take it from him, "Sit down," She nodded toward one of the chairs, and after he did, she sat with him, pulling the throw over them both, though they probably wouldn't need it - the night wasn't too cold and with the fire he'd created for them she thought they'd have been more than fine. But this was nice, the solid press of his body, and the warmth of both the fire and the throw. Kitty smiled, satisfied with everything and she let herself lean against his chest and rest her head on his shoulder.

The moment that Kitty shifted and sat with him, he knew, he just simply knew they'd be just fine. The warmth of her body against his just told him everything he needed to know.

While they settled in, John watched the flames while letting his fingers trail through the locks of hair on Kitty's head. Just simple smooth motions. His mind dancing through the thoughts of the night and the days to come. Things were so incredibly different here, and the fact that if they were back where they came from... not only would they have been enemies but also he'd not exist anymore.

This place was... paradise? Heaven? Wonderful? Pyro didn't know what to call the place in his own words, but the one thing he knew, is he didn't want to leave. The things here and the people, or person, that were here. This was he needed.

"Thank you for such an incredible night." John said suddenly. The way the night went wasn't as he expected, but it was as he hoped deep down.
