Who: Gamora (mcu) and Klaus Hargreeves (Netflix)
What: Possible stabbing or friends or something
Where: Out the front of The Hargreeves house
When: Thursday night
Rating: Low

Coming to terms with being trapped somewhere wasn't easy, but it was made easier seeing as she was here with her sister. The two of them had claimed a house as their own and while they'd gone through a number of doors, they hadn't lead anywhere they'd rather be and they'd returned. Gamora had wanted a relationship with Nebula again for a lot of years, a proper relationship not a sparring partner and so it made it easier. Then there was Quill, he was there too and that was- well it was.

They'd been out drinking, talking and she'd learned a lot about herself, the future her. She'd returned home, checked on her sister and then headed out again. She wasn't ready to sleep, Gamora's body warm with drink and her head spinning with too many thoughts and so she walked.

Gamora hadn't got far when she heard a noise and she spun around, sliding a knife out of its sheath as she did. The metal of it glinted as the moonlight hit it, light spilling out of the house next to them illuminating them more than enough for her to see.

The town was filling out, people were showing up almost every day, well maybe not every day but often enough that Klaus could notice a sizable difference in the population of their little village. And not just because he and Ben were having to bring back more to keep up with the demand, but just wandering down the street at night like he'd been doing since he'd shown up was proving to be a sport that was growing in popularity.

He still didn't sleep well, not through the night most nights, well mornings? He didn't really sleep normal hours, not the point. The point was he was wandering again as he did, hoping for the corn chip to make a show maybe, or maybe he'd wander his way over to Bill's and bother him a bit. He wasn't letting himself get attached, not really. He just found Bill charming and exceedingly attractive and warm in all the right places. So he could spend time with him if he wanted.

Headphones on Klaus was meandering down the street, hands swaying a little to the music in his ears, dancing with himself as he walked when he rounded a corner and found himself suddenly face to face with a woman holding a knife and looking very much like she would be only too happy to stab him with it.

"Uh, hello." He said hands rising from where they'd stilled paused in the air around his shoulders to slip the headphones off. "That's a very... pointy knife you have there." Of course after the knife there was the fact that she was green. Could you comment on whether someone was green? Klaus wasn't sure, and decided maybe he'd try and hold that in for now.

Gamora wasn't as sharp as she usually might be, she'd had more than a few drinks but she was still perfectly steady, the knife held right at throat height. But the man she'd wheeled around to see was wearing headphones like Quill had shown her earlier and appeared surprised, shocked and utterly harmless.

Slowly she dropped her hand back down to her side, but she didn't put the knife away, not yet. "Another Terran," Gamora said as she observed him. This wasn't earth but there were lots of beings from there, the few she'd glimpsed none had been other like her. Gamora was used to that though, being the last, the only.

"You should be careful who you startle," she said and maybe the words were a little bit slurred, like she'd had just one drink too many. "Are you an Avenger also?" Nebula had said that there were some of them there, people who'd fought in the great battle and he had a device like Quill's for music, maybe they knew each other. "Or a Guardian?"

Another Terran, she'd said. And Klaus wasn't sure if she meant him or something else, but considering the knife he was a little less than eager to poke at her - at least much. He really couldn't help himself most of the time, things just came right out of his mouth whether he wanted them to or not. It was a blessing and a curse - truly.

"Have you considered that maybe you startle too easily?" He offered, raising an eyebrow at her, because well - he'd been wandering these streets for nearly two months now, he was allowed if he wanted. She was the one being startled by it.

And then she asked him about whether or not he was an Avenger, he'd heard that before - some of the others, the corn chip maybe, they were Avengers and she asked if he was a guardian and he scoffed. "Me? Do I look old enough to be a guardian? I know Ben looks young but he's totally fine taking care of himself, if you asked him he'd tell you that he was the one taking care of me I'm sure, as if I need it," He waved a hand at himself as if to illustrate the point that he did not need any taking care of, from his formerly forever teenager brother or anyone else.

"I am Klaus." He told her instead, because well he was and he wasn't any of those other things so an introduction seemed like the next best move.

Gamora was a weapon, she certainly didn't startle easily. It was just when you'd been drinking and ended up in a strange place that made no sense that you couldn't escape you watched your back. "No," she said as she slid the knife back into its sheath.

Then he started talking and Gamora tilted her head, confused and trying to keep up. This Terran was even harder to understand than her own. Not that Quill was hers, he just was the first, the one she knew. Well she'd come to know. She was getting a headache. Not an Avenger and not a Guardian then, just someone else.

A Klaus.

"I am Gamora," she said after a moment. "I do not usually startle so easy, many drinks were had, this place is very strange to me," Gamora explained. "Quiet."

"Maybe consider it next time." He offered as she put the knife away. Klaus was quite certain that like Luther she did not need a weapon to hurt him if she wanted, but he relaxed with the pointy bit out of sight for the time being.

It was obvious that she was maybe not having trouble keeping up, but was certainly a little more confused by what he said than maybe someone who wasn't green might be. She was totally an alien, Klaus decided. Not some sort of super hero like a lot of these people, but something else all together.

"Pleasure to meet you Gamora." She might be an alien but introductions were never a bad thing, unless maybe they were where she was from? It was hard to say really. But as with all things Klaus was simply going for it.

"Ah yes," He nodded when she explained about the drinks, "I know how that can be, I've been there myself. You have just one and then it turns into two and three and five and you might take a little E and follow it up with a couple more shots and-" He sighed wistfully, at those hazy sort of memories he had of the nights that he'd spent making sure that there was no possible way that any ghost other than Ben could make it through his high.

"That's why I have the-" He plucked at the headphone cord where it dangled down over his chest. "The quiet is nice, it's different, but sometimes it can get a little too quite." The initial novelty of showing up here and finding that there were no ghosts to bother him was something he'd reveled in, but the longer that it went on the more it started to grate, pushing at temptations that made it more and more difficult to maintain the careful sobriety he'd been fostering since he arrived.

"I will consider that yes," she said after a pause. Maybe he was right, this place had her on edge and under normal circumstances she might not have drawn her weapon.

Terran were not people you came across, they stayed on their own planet, they hadn't progressed like others had so it was strange to meet so many. Gamora didn't mind them actually, at least they posed little threat although some of them seemed to have abilities above the norm. She wasn't sure how it could be a pleasure, but it had to be something he'd said to be polite and she didn't draw attention to it.

"And then he's telling you he loves you and you don't remember why," Gamora finished like perhaps it was a thing that happened all the time. She looked back up the street to where she'd left him, all glassy eyed and so much that Gamora felt like she might drown in it.

And yet she hadn't run from him yet.

Everyone seemed to have the ear speakers and the portable music, which Gamora could understand, she'd enjoyed what Quill played her. "I understand, someone played me some earth music tonight. I liked it," Gamora said with a shrug.

What he hadn't expected was her finishing up his statement like it was a common occurrence to be told that someone loved you. But well if that's what she was dealing with Klaus could roll with it. He nodded though, like he totally got it. "It happens that way sometimes." He said with a sigh, "You've just gotta take a little time for you when that happens." He told her, "Make sure you're in the right space to hear that, and accept it." Where it went from there was up to her of course, but it took some work sometimes simply to hear what someone had to tell you and you had to be in the right place for it.

Klaus knew all about that. As someone who spent the majority of his life making sure he was not in the right place to hear anything real. Sometimes it happened whether you were ready or not, but if you could prepare for it? Well it could be a much better experience.

For everyone.

"Oh yeah?" He grinned when she told him that she'd been played some music earlier tonight. "So I guess that makes you an alien?" He tried because well she'd said it, earth music it wasn't the sort of thing he ever really felt like he needed to clarify when he mentioned music, but if she had - that must make it unusual for her.

"I can get you one." He offered, "The headphones and music, if you liked it." It seemed only right to offer, he'd given away a couple of them since he arrived, what was one more.

She hadn't been expecting him to actually have anything to contribute to what she'd said, Gamora had just wanted to say it and let it out of her tense chest. But what he said sat incredibly well with her, she needed to be in the right space to hear what he felt for her. Which maybe she wouldn't be until she had time to start feeling her own way about him. "That- Thank you," she said with a nod.

"No, I'm a Zehoberei," Gamora said as she frowned. It was understandable, he was of earth and she was the last one of her kind, Klaus couldn't be expected to know what species she was.

His offer was generous, so of course she was a little suspicious. People didn't tend to offer something for nothing. Then again Tony had been very generous with her and her sister and he'd said they were relatively safe here. But she could have her own music, something to cover how quiet it was here and she wavered, mentally and physically.

"What would you like in return?" Gamora asked him, curious at least what his price might be.

Zehoberei. Klaus was still pretty sure that meant alien, but he didn't correct her. He was probably an alien to her too when you really thought about that. And maybe they all were sort of technically aliens here? Okay he was going to hurt his head thinking things like that, Klaus shook his head to stop that train of thoughts right in its tracks.

"Huh, I don't think I've heard of that before." He told her instead, but to be honest he hadn't really considered the idea that there would potentially be different kinds of aliens - they were just all aliens after all.

"Do you - I mean, you're not normally on Earth, are you?" He tried next, carefully curious about the whole thing, because there was really so much he could have been asking right then - she was green after all - how could he not ask about that?

As far as the music went though, Klaus shrugged "Uh - Maybe don't stab me?" He suggested helpfully. Because at the end of the day that's all he really wanted, to make it through life without being stabbed. "Do you want this one?" He offered, ready to hand it over right then if she was interested. "I've got another one back home." And really a repeated run in with Gamora might just mean being stabbed and Klaus was keen on making sure that didn't happen. So if he gave her the player now they could avoid all future stabbing as per the arrangement.

When you were the last one it seemed important for people to know what she was, that there had been more like her once. "My sister is a Luphomoid," Gamora said, offering more information because he'd not heard of other species before. "And you are a Terran," Gamora explained because earlier he hadn't seemed to know what that meant.

She shook her head as she looked up at the sky, considering it for a moment. "There's no real reason to come to earth, you don't go far and the technology is so ancient, there's nowhere to land a ship, no work or trade," Gamora said.

"I will not stab you." That was easy to agree to although it didn't seem like enough of a trade and she liked clear terms. "I will also protect you from stabbing or harm done by others when I am able, in exchange for a music device," Gamora concluded. Klaus offered her the one he'd been listening to and she hesitated like he might pull it away as she reached for it.

But he didn't and she took it carefully in both hands, like Quill had, something precious.

A Luphomoid. And he was a Terran. "Huh." He said after a moment of considering that, both that there were names for what humans were in the great wide beyond, and that aliens were much more varied than he'd ever really stopped to consider. "Well you learn something new every day."

"So," He paused for a moment considering whether or not this something he should even ask but at the end of the day, Klaus couldn't help himself on his best days, why start now? "Is your sister green too?"

Well you couldn't blame aliens for not coming to earth, it was a shitty place to live and he was born there, he didn't think anyone should really want to come there if they had a choice about it. "Can't argue with that, this place really is the worst." He agreed, well not this place, because he was pretty sure they weren't actually on earth, but it was definitely modeled after earth, so you know it fit well enough.

She accepted the terms easily and even added on a bit more, like not being stabbed wasn't enough. "Hey that sounds great," He agreed, because Klaus well he could use that from time to time. All part of that not helping himself thing, but if he had someone like her looking out for him occasionally, that could only be a good thing.

"Great, there's lots of music loaded on there already, so you're good to go." He told her, she held it carefully, like she was worried she might break it maybe? He wasn't sure, but it looked like he'd put it into good hands. "And if you get bored of it later, we can trade it out and get you some new music to listen to."

She wondered what it would be like to be so clueless of the world, of universes far from your own. Maybe it was comforting to think of things as small, she wasn't sure as she'd never known it to be as such. For her it felt vast and lonely, although that had changed now that she had seen the extent of her sister's desire to be family once more.

"My sister is blue," Gamora said with a little head shake. "We are not sisters by birth, our father- he brought us together." She certainly wasn't about to speak of Thanos, of being ripped from their families and turned into what they were now, but maybe it needed a little understanding.

She probably wouldn't have been so forward with information at all if she hadn't been drinking.

Gamora was a weapon, bodyguard would be easy enough. Klaus seemed agreeable enough, most likely he wouldn't need protecting. But he seemed happy with the deal and she would hold up her end of the bargain, keeping her free of debt. She would have to show Quill, perhaps in the morning they might see each other.

She put the headphones around her neck and the player into her pocket, wearing it much like Peter did, because that seemed to be the way. "Thank you," Gamora said, a little stilted.

Her sister was blue. Things were just getting more and more interesting and Klaus was all about it to be honest. Maybe they were aliens but he liked Gamora and he had a feeling her sister could hang too. And then she explained because knowing Klaus he'd have had to ask, and that could have gotten strange.

"That-" Klaus hadn't ever heard that echo of familiarity from someone before, not about family. "That sounds a lot like my family." He told her. "My father brought us together too." He told her, honesty in the similarity of their situations. "From all over the world, he took us from our families and brought us together." But how much of a family could they have been from anyone they'd been born to who gave them up to Reginald Hargreeves. Even at his best he'd never looked like the sort of man who would have made a good father and the people who Klaus and his siblings had been born to just gave them up because he'd made the right kind of offer.

He was sure her situation was different, maybe better - maybe not. He couldn't say either way. But it was familiar.

At least they had the music to focus on, "No problem." He waved off her thanks, "It's what I do, if you need something just come and find me, my brother and I - we'll try and get it for you."

Gamora was surprised and it showed on her face, Klaus telling her about his family. He'd been taken from his family and there weren't many people who would know what that was like, maybe just them, Gamora had certainly never met anyone else who could relate.

"My father is dead now," Gamora said. "And my sister and I are free." She was glad of it, there was no sadness in his death, the universe was no longer at risk from the titan and Nebula was safe from him. Gamora had been glad to witness his end, just as he'd witnessed hers. He was truly finished and now they could learn to be something new.

It was very generous, but hearing about his family and talking with him a moment she found herself less apprehensive. "That is our house there, beside the Stark house," Gamora said as he pointed up the street. "Try not to startle my sister, she is perhaps less forgiving than I am," she added although she was nearly smiling with it.

It was weird, to find that he had something in common with an alien, was it bad to call her an alien now that she'd told him what she really was? Well he wouldn't tell her, that sounded like a fair compromise to him. But it was strange to find that even someone who lived a life that was no doubt far more interesting than his own - in space and dealing with all the things that happened out there - might have something in common with him was not something he'd imagined he'd ever find. And yet here she was standing before him.

He nodded when she told him that her father was dead and she and her sister were free. Just one more parallel. "Yes, my father is dead too." They'd kind of made their own paths in life to varying degrees throughout the years though, but there had been something very final about Reginald's death that had truly signified something that all of them had been running from up until that moment.

"It was no great loss, we're all better off without him." He added because it was true, they all were better off on their own. Even Reginald's scolding in the afterlife had reminded him of that. He'd known what was coming and hand't said a word about it. And they were the ones left picking up the pieces.

Klaus glanced where she pointed to the house that was hers with her sisters. "I'll make sure to keep from startling anyone the next time I'm out for my evening stroll." He agreed with a grin of his own as she warned him about her sister. And though he'd give her a wide berth he wanted to see her sister who was blue as well.

There weren't a great deal of people who would understand what it was like to be like them. She had felt like her and Nebula were the only ones and it reminded her there were all kinds of evil, Thanos hadn't been that special he'd just been very powerful. Even on earth there were men who took what didn't belong to them, left trails of destruction behind them it seemed.

"And without mine, to see him die was a very satisfying moment." Satisfying but also conflicting. Gamora didn't know who she was when she wasn't living under his thumb or trying to stop him. Now she was here and who she was was put into more focus because there was so little to do but think.

Gamora kept a tight hold of the music player as she walked backward toward her own house. It was half to continue talking to him, but also half because you didn't turn your back on a stranger. "And I'll see I look out for you, Klaus. Thank you, I'll go home and listen right away."

Klaus didn't need to be a genius to hear the satisfaction in Gamora's tone when she talked about the death of her father - strange that they would have so much in common. If they were drinking he'd have raised a glass for the both of them to the death of their fathers - the world, maybe even the galaxy was better off without them.

"I can believe that." It was only too bad Klaus had missed the death of Reginald, and even worse when he found out that his death had all been part of a larger plot to bring them all together again to save the world. Damn that man for never knowing when enough was enough. Would any of it have happened if he hadn't continued playing his games with them?

He sighed shaking his head, it wasn't the direction he'd seen them going and watching her move toward her house a but further Klaus decided they were probably in a good place.

"You have fun with that," He lifted a hand to wave her off as she made her plans to listen to the new music she'd been given and Klaus, well he was going to walk around a bit more and see what there was to find. "I'll see you around Gamora." And though she wasn't turning away from him he did turn away from her walking off into the night and letting her get back home the way she'd planned.
