WHO: St. John Allerdyce and Carol Danvers
WHAT: A little door adventure
WHERE: Through the doors
WHEN: Wednesday Night
RATING: Low? Violence? Language?

Pyro had a date. Was it a real date? Who knew. Point being, it was a date. He asked Kitty if she wanted to have dinner, and it would be at his place because fuck going to that shitty little bar and deal with which ever Marvel she happened to be. Okay, he didn't hate her, but he still just didn't seem to fit in anywhere, and John was trying to find a way to adjust to this living and it just wasn't working.

Didn't help that he was a raging asshole.

Regardless of all of this! He had a date, and John needed to get stuff for said date. Which meant he'd have to door it, because frankly he didn't have everything he needed for this date. He wanted to wear something nice, and get some food and supplies to take care of cooking Kitty a knockout meal. Candles? Would those tall candles you saw in TV and movies be too much? This single thought made Pyro stop in his tracks while walking to the doors. "Nah. It's fine." He finally said out loud on the candles. He'd only get them if they were readily available. So he was at this point hoping for a nice easy door, like his first experience. Modern day, friendly normal ass people, willing to leave him alone while he did his shopping.

Once to the doors he said a silent prayer for his desires and opened stepping through. It was dirty and metal. Not what he wanted. Looking about, was when he realized he was somewhere he should be. It looked like... a prison. John knew the looks of prisons, and before he could remove himself he was being attacked by aliens. Either they thought he was intruding and that was bad, or he was breaking out, which was also bad. Dodging the first few strikes he managed to get his lighter out and sparked. He let the flames roar to life, which caused them to step back for a moment while he incinerated one of the aliens, but then more came at him.

It was truly impressive the amount of fire he was able to throw out before he was taken down. Screaming in rage he fought against the prison guards when he looked up and saw a familiar blonde. "NO! RUN!" He screamed while fighting against his captives that were putting a metal collar on him.

Watching Carol, his eyes took in her damage. She wasn't very well off that was for sure. They were trying to get their breath back from that fun encounter, and to say the least... John wasn't itching to go back through the doors. He'd have to, but he'd give it a few moments. Make sure Carol was tended to at least.

"Alright, sitting here is no good." John told her. "Lets get you someplace where you can tend to yourself." He held his hand out to get her back to her feet. Once she was up, he'd once again position himself to help her towards her dwelling.

"Yeah, you'll need quite a bit of rest. When I go back through, I'll see if I can get my hands on some more medical supplies for you." John laughed some. "Maybe something better than a t-shirt to stop your bleeding." Then he just focused on getting her home. Though her question made him sigh ultimately and laugh. What a silly thing.

"I got a date Friday." John answered honestly. "Wanted to get a few things to make it resemble something nice and normal." He glanced to her. "Or as normal as any of us get around here."

"Yeah...sorry about the shirt." She commented as she tried to stand up with a grimace, not arguing when he helped her. Carol wasn't too proud when she was injured. The truth was, she was a trained soldier and she knew better than to be that arrogant.

"Pancho's." Her answer to where to go. "I'll be okay after a few days of sleep. Believe it or not, this isn't the first time this has happened." She smiled in a way that probably hinted of her being proud of the fact.

"Friday, huh? Maybe there's something at the bar you can use. What exactly do you need?" She was keeping her mind off the pain. For now, it helped to stay busy.

"Pft. It was a shitty shirt anyway. Never liked it." John commented taking the thoughts away from her ruining his shirt. "Made me look fat anyway. That shirt, made my ass the size of a freight train." He commented further. Holding her up, and leading toward Pancho's John sighed.

"Must be incredibly convenient that you can rebound like that." Hell, it took him a day to rebound from the hangover he had given himself from the night of drinking during the party. A wound like that, he was almost certain would have laid him out for the crows to come feast.

"Well, I'm not entirely sure. This isn't something I know what I'm doing exactly." John chuckled. "I'm not sure if you know this," He looked to her. "I'm not very likable." There was a knowing smirk on his lips. "But I wanted to do something to show I was at least making an effort." He paused something considering. "You think a split skull and a concussion shows effort?"

She rolled her eyes at the comment about his shirt but bit back her own sarcastic remark. It hurt to talk and move at the same time. Instead, she concentrated on getting home and listening to him explain.

"Really? I would have never guessed." She deadpanned about his likability before smirking and giving a half shrug. Shit. That hurt.

"Worked for Maria. Well, sometimes. Sometimes she'd just spend the night yelling at me." Carol smiled at the memory, a sadness coming over her eyes.

"Small gestures go a long way. Wine. Candles. Maybe picking the right spot to do it, too? Where were you going to meet her?"

Everyone had different pains in different places. The physical pains weren't the one in Carol's eyes, but John knew his place and didn't pry. It would do neither of them any good to do that. Besides, she needed to focus on not bleeding out all over the place and surviving. He wasn't about to drag her this far for her to die.

"Yeah. Well I have only so many small gestures handy." Pyro muttered. "I was gunning for something to go with the steaks I had, like some potatoes or something." He shrugged himself. "Candles, a fancy as fuck red and white checkered tablecloth. You know the one, the ones from you see in movies." He nodded. "Try and find some wine." He sighed. Who was he kidding. He was never going to pull this off.

"Good plan." She nodded in approval and smirked at the fancy as fuck comment. "I don't know if you need candles- I mean, they'd be nice....but I think the effort would be appreciated. I can help with the wine if you want. I still have a few bottles at the bar. No glasses, though." She shrugged but clearly didn't mind contributing.

"Peter might be able to help you find food. Or Jan or Klaus? Reach out to them. I know you want to do it yourself- and it's cute- but you have people who would be willing to help you around here." She paused for a second, staring at him, then shaking your head.

"You're not a bad guy, John. Even if you want to think you are. I mean, I can't say I approve of torching everything in sight, but your motives come from a good place."

"I admit. Some of my plans are much better than others." He looked to Carol and smiled. "I'd happily take a bottle of wine off your hands. It's just one thing off the list of things I need to get." He nudged her lightly, and then after you're better, you can pour that drink for us." Speaking of the bar, it was in sight from this point. Thankfully.

"I'll consider it." He wasn't keen on asking for favors. Especially from those he didn't know. He'd make sure Carol was fine, go get a new shirt, clean up, and go bounding back through the doors and find the rest of what he needed.

Then her comment caught him off guard. Not a bad guy. Sure. Though he smiled something kind. "Just remember that next time you're mad at me." With his free hand, he waved it in front of them. "John isn't a bad guy." He laughed lightly.

"Some." Carol was still grinning. "Red or white. Your pick." Hell, she'd give him two or three if he wanted. Well, she'd probably put the limit on three. She still needed it to drink after all. "I'll pour anytime." Even if injured.

"Just don't go getting yourself killed, okay? I don't think your date would like it- shes probably already gonna be pissed because of that." Carol pointed to his head and winced at the sight. "Please at least tell her I didn't do that if she asked." Carol already knew her reputation with these X-Men.

"Yeah, I'll remember it. As long as you're not burning up innocent people for fun."
