Steve's answer was such a Steve answer, but it made her smile nonetheless. There was something wholesome and reassuring to hear him stay positive through this whole experience. She didn't know him that well, not like Tony, but she knew he was a born leader and she would follow him wherever he lead. It just ended up working in her favor that he ended up here! It was like getting the crew back together, in a way.
She only grinned back as he teased about the name. "Ah, it can't surprise you that much," she said. "The older Tony was one of the first people here! It only seemed appropriate. Especially given his current kinda-sorta-almost mayor status here." If there was one person Jan knew would always greet new people, it would be him. Checking in, making sure everything was accounted for and if anyone was in need, sending them in the right direction.
As he leaned against the counter, Jan jumped up on it, sitting on the edge with her feet dangling off. "So you're still pretty green here!" She grinned, giving his shoulder a bump. "Ummm..." She stared ahead of her, squinting as she tried to recall how long she'd actually been there. When had they arrived? "February," she said finally, looking over at him. "I remember because I was getting ready to go off into the great big world," her arms flung out to either side of her, maybe hitting him as she did so. "And Tony and I were getting some stuff together before we left and I was thinking about how I needed to make everyone Valentine's and mail it to them and then I remembered how I had to actually get a mailing address from everyone and how much time that would take and then..." She shrugged, as Steve could figure out what happened next.
"Is it weird that it doesn't feel like that much time has passed?" She knew a lot of people weren't happy with their situations, but things were starting to come up Jan in Starklandia. There were two Tony's, two Steve's, a whole handful of people she at least knew (but didn't necessarily know her, but that was alright), her shop, and a door that could lead to any kind of world. Sure, she would have LOVED a blasting range and a few more technical advances, but from what they had started out with, they were starting to come along.
