Who: Tony Stark and Gwen Stacy What: Tinkering lessons. Where: Tony’s workshop When: Saturday, May 25 Rating: Low.
It hadn’t been a great week so far. There had been too much that had left Tony feeling raw, and with more doubts than he might have liked for himself — Tony Stark had never dealt exceptionally well with self doubt, and apparently that hadn’t changed lately. Natasha and Steve had been supportive, not to mention the Doctor, Strange and more. But he still had his concerns about his own leadership skills and how he’d handled those disappearances even a few days later.
Losing Peter had been a blow, and Tony wasn’t sure it was one that he could so easily come back from.
A general unrest in the town was also something he needed to consider, but couldn’t seem to put his mind toward it, because it felt a little like a less interestingly written version of Lord of the Flies, but for the fact that most of them were adults here, and ought to have known better. In fact, it might have been the young adults - barely past childhood - that were the best behaved of the group. The young wizards and Avengers meant well, Miles was a delight. And Gwen was —
Well. Tony liked Gwen a lot. And had from the first time he’d talked to her. She was clever and funny and there was something a little sad about her, but not in a way where she seemed broken, or like she let it weigh her down. He respected that.
And frankly, he’d been a little delighted when she’d asked for lessons on tinkering. So. That’s what he was going to do today, no matter what his mood before this very moment had dictated for him. This was something he ought to enjoy.
