Kate was a little late in running to meet Billy because, in her excitement, she had both hit her head and stubbed her toe while running out the door to meet him. She couldn't help but feel a teeny, tiny bit happy that he was here. She knew America wouldn't really share the sentiment and really, she didn't like the thought of another close friend of hers being stuck in this weird little town. But at the same time, if they had to be stuck somewhere, it was nice that they were all stuck together. It seemed they were only missing a few key people and their little band of Avengers 2.0 would have a pretty nice reunion. Kate knew there was one person she was really hoping to see but was trying not to hold out too much hope at the same time.

Brushing those thoughts (and the pain) away, she hobbled out into the courtyard, yelping with excitement when she saw the familiar face. Part of her felt guilty like she had wished him here. Even worse because it seemed Teddy wasn't with him. She could only imagine what hew as going through and hoped they'd be able to help him adjust here.

"BILLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYY." She practically flung herself at him, wrapping her arms around him in a bear hug. "Is it bad to say I'm so happy you're here?"

Billy waited as he had promised Kate he would, it wasn't like he really had anywhere else to go. He had no idea where this place was and while his general magic seemed to work his teleportation abilities were refusing to do anything. Currently he couldn't even use them to move from one side of the square to another which he found particularly annoying.

He had been pleased to find he wasn't completely alone here and when he discovered America and Kate were here he felt the little ball of anxiety in him uncurl just a little. He missed Teddy already, it felt like half of himself was missing without his fiance, but he had the girls which would definitely help.

Grinning he wrapped his arms around Kate tightly when she flew at him, "Not at all, I know what you mean. It's a bit of a crappy situation but you always make things better Kate"

His compliment only made her smile more and she realized she really was happy he was here. Yeah, he was right, it was a crappy situation, but at least they had friends to be stuck here with. That definitely didn't make it as crappy as it could have been, right?

But then there was the matter of Teddy. Kate gave her friend an encouraging smile. "I've been wondering slash hoping you and Teddy would show up," she admitted, looking down as her toe scuffed the cobblestones underneath their feet. "I'm sorry Teddy isn't here." She didn't want to highlight the fact even more, knowing he was probably missing his other half something fierce. "But! I've been here the longest and America and Loki showed up fairly soon after. And now you're here so..." She held her hands up in a sort of shrug, hopeful gesture. "Maybe he's on his way." Again, it was a weird situation. She didn't want to tell Billy that his boyfriend could be stuck somewhere else without him (she didn't want to think about the other alternative), but maybe focus that he could still be coming to join them here! Not the best of circumstances, but definitely the better of the two!

"Have you been anywhere around town yet? Do you need a tour?" It was weird to think she could actually show him the different areas and places in town now. "Believe me, you came at a good time. I arrived when we didn't have anything. At least I can offer you a cup of coffee and a slice of pizza!" She nodded her head towards the other side of the square. "C'mon, it's over here! You can tell me the last thing you remember happening before you got here."

Finding Kate and America and even Loki were here was much better than believing he was completely on his own.

"Thanks Kate" Billy said, it felt like part of himself was missing without Teddy but he knew his better half would hate him to wallow in the sadness. "That's the hope I'm going with, he'll end up here eventually too. He'll find me, he always manages to" Because if he could count on anybody it would be Teddy.

"I've been nowhere. Other than trying to portal home and use the message system thing I've not really done much of anything" he admitted, but being shown around was definitely something that would help. He was very glad Kate had gotten to know the area and, he assumed, some of the people. "Okay so last thing for me was New Avengers disbanding and Teddy and I deciding to just live our lives for a while. Planning a wedding being part of that" he added, just in case Kate was from before he and Teddy gotten engaged.

If there was one thing she could count on Billy for, it was the same optimism she tried to have when things looked rough. With their group of friends, it was easy to try and be realistic after all the things they'd been through, but Billy was right; in the end, they always found each other. That was the best hope they could hold out for and she wasn't going to stop. So far it was working in their favor and she hoped it would only be a few weeks before Teddy showed up on the network as well.

Kate was surprised to hear that she came from after Billy's time and wondered if this was one of those situations where she couldn't tell him the future...which would be hard since a lot of it focused on Billy and kinda Teddy. Everything had worked out in the end, but it had been a rough time with Mother and tackling all of their inter-group relationships. "Yeah, I kinda come from a time after you," she said, opening the door to COFFEE and letting Billy in. "I mean, not kinda, but I do." She flipped on the lights and walked over to start making them a cup. "It's one of those weird 'I can't tell you the future in case you go back' kinda situations, huh?" She looked over at him, moving out a chair for him to sit while she got their drinks.

"There's not too much in town to check out," she said. "I can take you to Jan's place for clothes and Carol and Alpha Peter have opened up a bar recently. Pretty cool considering we didn't really have anything in the beginning." Pretty impressive was more like it. There were days Kate still wondered how they had been able to get everything done. "But! There's this weird doorway that seems to be magical because it opens up to different places all across the galaxy! At least, that's what we're guessing?" She shrugged, letting the steam pour out of their espresso machine. "I went to Paris with Clint and that's where we got Bertha." She petted the machine as if it were a beloved companion. "Then America and I got trapped in this weird Lord of the Rings type place." She smiled, remembering how much she had wished Billy and Teddy were there. "We thought of you guys as we were running for our lives as orcs were trying to kill us. It would've been like old times to have you guys fighting with us."

Billy tried to look on the bright side of things, he didn't like to feel sad or depressed so as much as he could he brought positivity to things. Of course when Teddy was around that was much easier but he'd soldier on until his fiance was here.

"Urgh yeah probably, which sucks because now I am totally curious. Just tell me that Teddy and I remain awesome" he requested with a grin, watching her as she set about making coffee. It was kind of weird to be helping themselves in a coffee 'shop' but it made sense that this was how it was working here. People were resilient overall, especially with some of the people who it seemed were here.

"I'm impressed" he nodded as he sat, "I like the idea of fetching things from other places. That sounds like fun" Then he gaped at Kate's next words, "I am beyond jealous right now Kate, I do hope you are aware of that. Now I'm here you and America have to take me with you if you go anywhere from now on" he declared, a Lord of the Rings world sounded amazing.

Kate only hesitated a little bit when he asked after himself and Teddy. "You guys are always awesome," she said, the grin a bit stretched as she turned back around to pour them a cup each. There seemed to be enough for another round later, although Kate was beginning to wonder if they should have gotten something a bit stronger if they were going to have this conversation. You're thinking on it too much. They ended up working everything out, right? Right. So she hadn't lied to Billy...they really were awesome because they worked everything out.

It made her miss Billy's other half even more.

"Maybe there are some things I can tell you," she said, handing him a cup and holding hers between her hands. There was nothing like the feel of a hot cup of coffee and she sighed. "I mean...you could at least ask and I'll think about it?" But that probably wasn't a good idea either; from what Kate could remember, a lot of what happened had to do with Billy and turning into that super powerful sorcerer that Loki was trying to provoke.

"On second thought, let's talk more about the Lord of the Rings land," she said with a laugh. "Next time we go out, I'll make sure to send you a text so you can come along!" She gave him a pointed look. "No promises it'll always send us somewhere cool and nerdy though. I wasn't a big fan of the zombie land." She shuddered, taking a sip of her coffee as she thought about it.

"Have you claimed a room yet?"

It was tempting, the idea of knowing what would be his future - if they ever got back home of course. But he knew the danger of messing with timelines so it was probably safer not to know anything - not matter how much he really wanted to know. "No, let's stick with safer topics" he sighed before grinning at her words, Lord of the Rings land definitely sounded something like something fun.

"Anywhere can be made fun Kate, you know that" he winked at her, "You, me and America? How can it not be?"

He shook his head, "I've done nothing yet" he laughed ruefully, "Any rooms near you?" Being closer to those he knew would be somewhat reassuring.

Kate snorted at his remark that anywhere could be made fun. "You would think," she said, although now that he was here, maybe it was true. She had done her best to make America happy here, but she knew her friend was still struggling. Maybe getting more friends here would help lift her spirits!

"We all need to do a doors trip now." She walked around and plopped down in a chair next to him. "The trio you said and maybe Loki?" She was sure he would complain most of the time, but it seemed like he needed to be invited to add to the group dynamic. He was apart of the Young Avengers after all, right? Or was that more from a time after Billy? This was getting confusing now...

She perked up when he said he really hadn't done anything yet. "I'm sure there are! America and Clint are by me too! We should go scout a room for you and fix it up!" Was it too soon to introduce him to the doors? Probably...although Billy could definitely take any punches thrown his way. "You seem to be handling all this pretty well too," she said, staring at him over the rim of her cup. "Although crazier things have happened, am I right?" Really, this just seemed like another chapter in their crazy exploits.

"Why not? After all he has a knack of attracting trouble and what can be more fun than that right?" Billy said with a smirk, Loki had caused a lot of trouble for them but even he had to admit it was more fun with him around. Mostly.

"That sounds great, it'd be good to have a space of my own you know? Since we're stuck here for who knows how long" Billy didn't like the idea of being stuck here, especially without Teddy but if he had to be he wanted to have a place that he felt more comfortable in. A place of his own. "I'm trying" he shrugged, "Not like I'm a stranger to alternate realities but it's frustrating not being able to control it" he admitted.

Kate couldn't help but laugh at his continued optimism, finding it was a breath of fresh air. She had tried to keep a positive spin on it, but even the monotony of everyday life here was starting to get to Kate. There were only so many times you could venture through the doorway and hope to get lucky.

She felt even more fortunate that Billy had arrived when he had. Going through with him would make it more fun, watching as he experienced it each time.

"I think America will be able to empathize with that." Kate worried about her bestie and how her frustrations seemed to remain. She didn't want to brush them off like they were nothing, but she also wanted to see her happy. Not that it was all doom and gloom with her, but Kate knew she was still struggling.

"After this, we should pop by America's room, see if she's around! I bet she'd love to see you!"

Billy was sure he'd have moments of pessimism but he also knew if he fell into a depression and Teddy arrived his fiance wouldn't be pleased with him so he would try and stay as positive as possible.

"She struggling?" Billy asked, worried for their friend. He'd do what he could to help her adjust, as much as anybody could anyway. It was a weird situation.

"That would be good. I'd love to see her too" he agreed readily.

"Big time." She looked at Billy, giving him a sad smile. "I think she's just as frustrated as you that her powers aren't at 100% capacity. I'm sure it's a strange situation for her to be in and I'm sure I'd be struggling if I suddenly lost my accuracy or something." Kate had an idea what America was going through, but not completely. All she could do was be there for her friend and try to keep her happy. With Billy arriving, she had no doubt they'd be able to support each other.

"I'm really happy you're here," she said, throwing an arm around his shoulder. "Just need Teddy and we'll have a complete team!" She held her mug out to him for cheers. "Now what do you say about going to find America?"

	"Yeah, it's super frustrating having your powers on the fritz. I probably rely on them too much but they've pretty much always been there you know?" Billy shrugged, he was hoping all his powers hadn't gone but he hadn't tested many out for fear they had.
