Who: Bill Weasley and Klaus Hargreeves
What: Bill arriving
When: Thursday night
Where: The square
Rating: Smoking and hello and a little closeup PG magic probs

Bill had been going home from The Burrow, a quick floo should have landed him back in his own fireplace but instead he found himself in the middle of a deserted but quaint little square. To his left the embers of a fire burned, the smell of coffee hung in the air and surely this wasn't one big fireplace so how had he gone and ended up here? Wand in hand he tried to apparate, only to stay right where he was. That was two things that didn't add up and that he didn't like, not one bit.

He stoked the fire with a simple flick of his wand, so that the light might grow a little and show more of where he was without drawing attention if muggles were about. But even when he could see more, it only made it more confusing as it showed things to be rundown and appear even more deserted.

The heels of his boots clicked on the stone as he walked the perimeter of the square, wand in his hand inside of his pocket, just to be safe. Things had been happening, He Who Must Not Be Named had returned and killed a student, but could that possibly have anything to do with this? It was hard to believe but still Bill was cautious, these days you never knew.

He wasn't quite sure what had delighted Klaus so much, but at least it was because of him, what wasn't to like about that? It was a muggle thing but he'd been to a movie theatre and enjoyed it, he could see the appeal. "Glad to be of service."

It wasn't a big place and they didn't come across anyone else on their journey but he could see lights on in buildings, they certainly weren't alone. Bill would get a better look around in the daytime, if he hadn't found a way out of there by then. At least he knew he could make his way back to the square even once they'd arrived at Klaus' house.

They stepped inside and Bill stopped to wipe his dragon hide boots. Klaus told him to make himself comfortable and he sat on the couch for a moment before getting back up. He pulled up the cushions, finding the springs broken and repaired them with a few simple spells, even fluffing it up some before he sat again.

Bill reached up to take the glass with a grateful smile before he leaned back and crossed his long legs. "I'm a Cursebreaker, I work for a bank," he explained. "Lots of people lock away wealth and history before they die and I recover it." He took a sip of whiskey, keeping it small, by the smell he knew it was something to savor. "And what about you, Klaus?"

Klaus returned with drinks just as Bill was doing something to the couch, and then as he sat he realized that where it had been broken it was fixed. "You wizards," He said shaking his head, "You really are something else, I could have used someone like you a long time ago." After all the little things he'd seen some of the wizards in town do, Klaus was absolutely certain he'd have loved having a wizard around basically his entire life if that had ever been an option. As it was though he was certainly happy to make do with the here and now.

And right here and now there was Bill, sitting comfortably on his couch explaining that he was a cursebreaker, which sounded like exactly the right sort of thing for him, though Klaus had no idea what someone who was a curse breaker might look like other than the specimen before him. "Sounds like that's probably pretty interesting."

Klaus sat close, turned on the seat cushion so he could face Bill, one leg tucked up beneath him. "Me? Oh you know, a little of this," He held his hand out in one direction, "a little of that," and then the other. "Mostly, I do my best to avoid things like work whenever possible." He admitted easily, Klaus was never shy about who he was, and who he was back home - well he didn't do things like jobs, at least not real ones. He only ever did enough to have just enough cash on him for his next high.

"Here though - I guess I'm in the supply business." He shrugged, it was strange how it had happened, but it turned out he had a knack for the kind of robbery that allowed him to make multiple trips through the doors and come back with small things that everyone seemed to want at some point or another. "You don't realize how much you want some things until suddenly it's not an option any more."

It was impossible to imagine life without magic, because for Bill he'd always been surrounded by it. Growing up they hadn't known any muggles at all, being a pureblood family who lived far away from the nearest neighbour there was just no chance to come across them. "Well you can use me now, love," Bill said as the corners of his eyes scrunched up in a smile.

Klaus' answer wasn't really an answer, it was casually evasive but it wasn't like Bill was going to push for details. There were lots of reasons he might not want to talk about what he did and that wasn't his business. There were times Bill would have enjoyed a life trying to avoid working, but at the same time he just enjoyed the challenge of his job far too much. Not to mention he lived in fear of being as poor as he'd been growing up. "Too busy saving gents like me to have time to work more likely."

The supply business. Well Bill knew what that meant. He'd met plenty of different kinds of people in his life, he liked to go out and Bill loved a party so he wasn't about to turn his nose up. Not to mention him being in that business most likely explained the drink. "So how long have you been here then?"

"Oh believe me, I plan on doing exactly that." Klaus promised Bill when he offered himself up to be used. A big strong man like Bill, there were so many ways Klaus could use someone exactly like that in his life, and add magic to it all - and well that was an offer too good to refuse. And Klaus made a point never to refuse things that he really wanted.

He huffed lowly and nodded when Bill gave his estimation of what kept him busy and nodded sagely. "Oh yes, you can't believe how much time that takes out of my day." Today especially it seemed, but all in all this was something that was not totally new - but certainly unexpected for him. But if it got him people like Bill, Klaus thought maybe he could handle being the one to find the new arrivals to town and sharing a drink with them. "Not all of them are quite as charming as you though, I'm afraid, but that's the way things are here."

"It's been ..." He paused and frowned as he counted back, it had been a month when Five arrived, but a few weeks had passed since then. "Nearly two months I think." He said finally, it was hard to believe even for him. Two months was the longest amount of time he'd been sober since he'd started using in the first place. "Others have been here longer of course." He added, "We're all just making the best of it while we can."
