WHO: Miles Morales and Tony Stark (MCU)
WHAT Discussing...things?
WHEN: Saturday Afternoon
WHERE: Outside Pancho's

Miles was settling in okay, getting used to the idea of being stuck here after only a few days of panic attacks. He was lucky to be staying with Peter, though. The older Spider-Man had talked him down a few times as Miles would wake up in cold-sweats or try again to wake himself from this "dream" by pinching himself until he was nearly bruised.

But now, it wasn't so bad. He was keeping himself busy by exploring the town, practicing a few spider-moves here and there, hanging out with Peter, and trying to get to know the people around the town. Even if Miles stuck to Peter most of the time. And Carol. She was intimidating, but she was cool and didn't mind him hanging around Pancho's to talk to Peter while he watched them work.

Which was sort of why Miles wanted to make this special for both of them. It was kinda like payback for everything they were doing to help him out. And it gave Miles something else to keep his mind on rather than worry about what his mom and dad were thinking while he was away.

He sat on a folding chair outside (borrowed from the bar), and he was staring at a blank piece of paper on his drawing pad, pen tapping the side of it to the rhythm of the music he was listening to in his headphones. Thank god he'd remembered his MP3 player that day, or he'd be sunk without music while he was here. The poor kid was so oblivious, he wasn't even very tuned into his spidy-sense at the moment.

"Uuuuh...yeah- well one girl. Gwen. Not this Gwen here, but another Gwen...kinda got my hand stuck in her hair and....we had to shave her hair off to get us unstuck. She wasn't happy about that." And all because he'd had a crush. She looked good with the fade, though. Even if he wasn't supposed to like it.

"I have my pens. I was hoping to ask Peter if he wanted to go out and look for paint with me when I'm ready to start it up. I'm thinking of painting the name. Maybe coming up with some cool background. Not sure what it should be, though. Got any ideas? What do you think they'd like up there?"

That had been the hard part. He wanted it to reflect the owners AND the bar AND the place as a whiole. Something everyone could enjoy.

"I can't see how she would have been," Tony agreed mildly, frankly a little impressed that Miles had lived to tell the tale. Messing with a woman's hair even on accident seemed like one of the fastest ways to regret a decision ever. "A girl with the name Gwen or a different version of the one here?" Tony was ever curious about the multiverse, and how things worked or differed in other places.

He turned a little to look at Pancho's, the side of the wall there that was empty and could use filling. It was charming that the kid wanted to do something like that, to make a heartfelt contribution in his own way. Peter'd love it, he was sure. Carol too, even if she might be less inclined to openly say so.

"I'm terrible with art," he admitted, because Tony never considered the clean, thin lines of his own design work to be real art so much as construct. "But they're superheroes, so I'd guess adding in some of their signature colors could only help you."

"Uh...different version of the one here. Same name, looks kinda like her and also does the..." He made the hand gesture that all Spider-folks did when they used their webbing. "I haven't really gotten to talk to her yet, though. She seems cool on the phone." He shrugged.

"And I'm lucky the other Gwen was cool. Like, REALLY lucky. I know it." He really did. And while part of him know he'd probably never see her again, another part of him regretted not telling her how he felt about her. About how cool she really was.

He nodded, staring at the wall and considering with a slow grin. "Yeah? That's a pretty good idea. But...I also gotta incorporate the whole Pancho's thing. Which is sorta hard." He cocked his head to the side, trying to picture it. "I just keep seeing cactuses. Cacti. How do you say it?"

Tony liked Gwen. He'd fixed her ipod and built her a little speaker system to play her music on when she'd first shown up and she'd been something of a delight, like a strange mix between sassy and polite.

Teenagers were all weird, really. But Tony found he was just... fond of them. Kids.

"So long as you're aware," Tony said, giving Miles a thoughtful sort of expression because it was hard not to notice that tiny bit of regret or whatever that was wafting off of him.

"Cacti. Why do you keep seeing those? I'm pretty sure it's just meant to be a dive. Er." Wait, teens weren't supposed to know about dive bars.

"Yeah, but like Pancho reminds me of a desert or something. It's weird. So Peter's thing is...red and blue. And so is Marvel's. Makes it easier. Not sure how I can fit a cactus in there, though." Miles was already moving on to think about his work but then he just shook his head and glanced at Tony.

"Thanks, by the way. For the help- oh!! Maybe I could paint like a Banksy thing on the wall- have Spiderman crawling up on the side and um... What should go on the other side?"

He figured painting a big blasted hole on the side might not go over too well considering...then again, maybe they'd find it funny? Peter had a good sense of humor. Carol, too. Sort of.

"Just do a little cactus, small and somewhere out of the way to get it out of your system," Tony advised because he didn't need to know about art to know that sometimes the best way to get rid of an itch was to actively scratch it.

"Well if you have Spiderman on one side, it only stands to reason Carol's gotta be on the other one?" He said, squinting at the building in question again. That hole was really awkward. He should probably get around to helping fix it, now that he was thinking about it. "Maybe cacti in space, instead," he mused.

A little cactus was probably a good idea. And Miles was nodding "I think space cacti might be better for sure." Miles sighed and just started drawing, outlining what would be the building and the wall. After a second, he looked up again and just sort of stared at it.

"Huh....what if I just got their outlines on the building? Like not really them...but then again, it should probably go with a theme." He always got stuck at this part, and his attention turned back to Tony.

"So was there another me in your universe? I mean, there was a Peter right? Not that you'd know. I feel like I might be the only Spider-me out there. " And for some reason, maybe he was a little jealous at the idea? Of course, hew as also too insecure to want to let on.

Who didn't like space cacti? It just had a ring of adorableness to it that even Tony could get behind. Mind, it was Miles' project and he just had to assume that no matter what the kid came up with, it'd be just fine. Sure, the blank paper wasn't very helpful in showing actual skill, but Tony was pretty big on letting kids do their own thing.

Anyway, it seemed like Miles was just spitballing ideas out into the world and it didn't much matter if Tony was there for that, or no one at all. He'd figure it out.

He did pause for a moment over the question, though. "There was another Peter," Tony agreed, and it wasn't like he was missing what Miles was really asking. Or maybe not asking. "If there was another version of you, I never met him. It could be an age difference thing, maybe you weren't born yet, or bitten yet, or whatever else. Timelines are strange, and I think we all know that by now." He tucked his hands into his pockets and lifted his shoulders a little in a shrug. "Maybe you're just someone I get the pleasure of meeting in the future."

Miles grinned at the notion, watching Tony for a second then shaking his head and laughing. "Man, other me is gonna be pretty lucky if he gets to meet you guys." He meant it. Tony was cool. Then again, they were all pretty cool.

"Hey, you think you could introduce me to Captain America? Or maybe Thor? It'd be really cool to meet a Thor." Miles was nervous to approach them himself. Hero complex and all that. And he still didn't feel quite worthy enough, even if he was starting to get used to the idea of himself as Spider-Man.

"I mean, I know I know you guys....but it feels weird just to go up and tell them who I am and that I've been hero-worshipping them since I was a kid."

"Maybe," Tony agreed, although he clearly wasn't convinced. He didn't feel cool, he felt more like meeting up with the Avengers was something of a death wish for superheroes. He'd already gone and gotten Peter into a mess he hadn't been able to get out of (even if he was here, alive. Whole.), Miles didn't deserve the same treatment.

Miles' next question was just so teenaged and hopeful that it actually ripped Tony away from the road of dark thoughts that he'd been about to walk on. "You want me to introduce you to Thor and Captain America," he said flatly. "What am I, chopped liver? You want me to borrow you a pen so you can get their autographs, too?"

He was teasing, of course. He'd introduce the kid. And he'd make it as awkward for everyone as possible while doing so.

"Definitely. Well, except for the whole being stuck here thing." Away from his friends. His parents. He was worried about his parents, actually, but he tried to put it in the back of his mind. He'd be home soon, and it would be cool. Right?

"No, I didn't mean it like that! I mean, you're amazing! It was so cool meeting you- is so cool meeting you!" But Iron Man wasn't his favorite and Miles cleared his throat. "I just...uh..."

Actually, their autographs would be awesome, but he didn't outright say it. He just made a bit of a face then looked back at his drawing pad. "I just meant if you had the time or happened to see them. Or something."

Yeah. That was a concern, being stuck here. Maybe less for Tony than other people, because -- well. It was easy not to really want to face the truth of defeat. But Miles was young and probably had a lot going for him. Parents who he missed and probably hadn't been without, before. Tony.... wasn't not sure how to handle that, or even if he should at all.

"Kidding," Tony soothed, holding his hands up in the universal signaling for relax relax. "If course I'll introduce you."

Miles' fear turned into excitement and his eyes grew a little bit wider as he smiled."Awesome!! Thank you! Seriously." And then he realized how pathetic he probably sounded. Clearing his throat, Miles just nodded. "I mean it, Mr.Stark.This is great." He smiled.

Seriously, Tony probably only had the slightest idea what this meant to the young Spider-man, but he was just going to act cool. The other spider-people always acted cool, right? Yeah, he could do it!

Maybe. Not really.

What was it about all the little spiders and their need to call him Mr. Stark? Tony couldn't help the wild face journey he probably went on over Miles' earnest tone and overly polite words. It was just -- it was a thing. A thing that got him slightly choked up, frankly.

"Sure," he said, a little rough around the edges. "I'll just -- ah. I'll let them know. Next time I see them. Hey. Good luck on your art, it's gonna be great."
