WHO: Klaus Hargreeves and Loki
WHAT: It's a game
WHERE: Loki's place
WHEN: Today

Klaus was feeling the itch, the restless sort of thing that crawled in under his skin and that he knew he could make go away very simply, but the thing was he was still waiting for his siblings, for Ben especially and he worried that if he didn't keep up this new found sobriety he'd miss them. And well after they destroyed the world together he was kind of hoping that maybe he'd find them again, they were all he had left after all. Which yeah he knew it, he was the last person in the world who he thought would be waiting for anyone in his family, but the apocalypse did funny things to a person apparently.

So you know making it a game - that was appealing and would get his mind off the things he didn't have and instead focus him here in this place and the people here. And Loki ... well Klaus already knew what good company he could be, so of course once he'd gotten the invitation he made his way over.

And like usual Klaus was good at putting on an eager and relaxed face, which he wore as he leaned up alongside Loki's door after he'd knocked. Magic users were just so interesting.

No, Loki didn't need flowery descriptions -- he was from Asgard for the most part, after all, and there was a lot of that going on over there. One could only take so much quivering before it got annoying.

"No," Loki admitted, he'd not been to rehab, although he did understand addiction on some base level. Not to drugs, but other things. Power, mostly.

It could be ruinous.

"And I assume that you're trying to stay of sound mind." Obviously. It would be something of a game, he supposed, then. A mutually beneficial sort of thing where they both had fun and Klaus was distracted enough to stay in the lane he was on. "Why don't you come have a seat?"

No, Loki didn't really strike him as one for rehab, even if there was a point when it might have been something he needed, though Klaus wasn't sure that was true either, Loki was a difficult read. And Klaus was usually fairly good at reading people, maybe he ignored what he saw there often enough but he still saw plenty. But Loki - there were layers upon layers there, and for the moment he was more than content with what he'd seen thus far.

"Attempting, yes." Klaus agreed, it was strange, he'd done it before when he thought that it might be the only way to see Dave again, when it was court ordered, when he was perhaps in need of a place to stay, no matter how briefly. But this - this was new - staying sober for the sake of his family? Klaus had never tried that before.

He moved from his idle inspection of Loki's space and went to sit with him, comfortable and relaxed whatever it was Loki had in mind didn't worry him. "My siblings," He said leaning in Loki's direction, "They were all gifted with powers more interesting, and far more useful than my own." Well that had always been what he'd thought, he was starting to rethink that now though, though how useful was the ability to conjure spirits when there were no spirits? "I had a knack for dampening mine and having a good time while doing it - without them here though, it feels like I should at least try, until they manage to find their way here."

"Siblings," Loki lamented with a huff that was somewhere between amused and annoyed, "It's always something with them, isn't it?" Whether they were stronger or had better powers, or were more worthy -- well. Sometimes there was simply no measuring up.

He reached over hand threading through Klaus' hair and offered a playful little tug when he got near the end. It was a good length for that sort of thing, just enough handhold. "What are your powers?" He asked, curious. "And is it that you want to use them, or that you want to make your siblings proud by staying on track?" Both, maybe. Starklandia would have been an easy place to stay on the wagon, but for those doorways where one could find just about anything they were looking for if they spent enough time at it.

"With mine in particular." Klaus agreed. Sure often it was him who was the something of course, but as they'd gotten older his other siblings had joined him in learning how to be disappointments to their father so he supposed he couldn't claim sole ownership of that any longer. At least not until they saved the world. Then maybe he'd reclaim his title and the rest of his siblings could go back to their lives. Whatever was left of them.

The trace of a smile crossed his mouth at that tug, not enough to hurt or anything near that, just the feeling of it for now it seemed and Klaus was more than okay with that as he relaxed just a bit more. "The conjuring of the dead," Not exactly the most useful thing in the middle of a fight, he wasn't strong like Luther, or able to move through space, or any of the other things his siblings could do. It was both, far more than Klaus wanted to admit if he was being honest, "I could find them maybe," He said after a moment, "If I wasn't quite so distracted." He didn't know if his powers worked like that, but he hadn't known they'd worked the way they had with Ben either.

"Really?" Loki asked, somewhat surprised by the power that Klaus had. It was an interesting one, and not only because it was .... well. Useful. Although somewhat because of that. But Klaus seemed lively, so it did come as a bit of a surprise. Loki considered that for a moment, and ran his thumb across Klaus' jawline. "My sister is the Queen of Hel," he admitted, thoughtfully. "Death is a strange business. I've always tried avoiding it, personally."

Still. Klaus had said he was looking for a distraction, and Loki meant to deliver. His thumb moved down somewhat, pressing at Klaus' throat and feeling the heartbeat there. "Do you think your siblings dead?" He asked.

"Dad used to lock me in mausoleums when I was a kid - like it would help me deal with the fact that I had ghosts screaming at me for things I could never understand." Yes, he really could conjure the dead, and normally he didn't even really have to try for it to happen. Ben was his baseline even when he was high he could get Ben. Other than his brother though he usually had to try at it if he wanted someone specific, otherwise it was just any ghost in the damned area that decided it'd be fun to wander in and tell him all about their gruesome and terrible deaths.

For now though, Klaus let himself breathe and relax into those easy touches from Loki, "It's not so bad," He admitted after a moment, "Being dead, god is kind of a bitch, but-" He shrugged, so was he, so he could kind of relate.

He didn't worry as his thumb moved lower, pressed against his throat as they talked a little and he had to pause and truly consider it. Whether or not his siblings were dead now, if that was the reason why they were all not here and not simply because they'd gotten lost. But why not him? "I'm not certain." He admitted, it'd really put a damper on the whole saving the world thing if they were, but beyond that he just kind of would rather they not be dead. "I don't think they are, even if we were running from the apocalypse before I showed up here - I think they just... got lost?"

"Interesting parenting method," Loki said, but decided not to comment on that further because probably every damned person in this place had a sob story to tell about their father and Loki didn't intend on making it himself a contender in something that wasn't even a competition.

"It's bad enough," Loki said shortly, because he'd died before. More than once, even, although he always wormed his way out of it. The last time had been something truly special.

"Alright," he decided after a beat. "I'll help you." Because Loki wasn't heartless, not even remotely. Because he understood longing for a sibling who was missing. Even if he didn't necessarily always like Thor, he always loved him.

So he moved slightly, his whole hand circling Klaus' neck, firm and solid. "Do you want my help?"

Klaus huffed a little, interesting was definitely a word for it - but he wasn't really interested in talking about Reginald Hargreeves and his parenting methods - or lack there of as it turned out. Not when dear old dad was dead and still wanting to give him disappointed lectures from the afterlife. No, there were far more interesting things here in his present.

"I guess it can be," He agreed, death was another one of those things that felt a little like maybe they didn't need to touch on too much, it sounded like Loki had his own experiences with it, and Klaus had a feeling those things were kind of unique to everyone. So his not so bad could have been a contrast to whatever Loki knew of it. Especially with a sister who reigned over Hel.

This space felt a little easy to float in, not quite present but certainly not gone the way he lived so much of his life, instead just experiencing it as they talked. It was new and interesting and Klaus found that he liked it. Who knew actual human interaction would agree with him so much.

And then Loki's hand moved again, less of a light touch and more firm then, his hand around Klaus' neck and he was right here back in his body and he nodded, pressing his lips together. "Yes," He agreed, "Yes I would like your help."

Human interaction was a funny thing, really. Because Loki himself had been sure for a very long time that it wasn't something he was interested in. He was above it, and well above Midgardians.

He couldn't remember, exactly, when that had changed. Maybe it was after his rebirth, before he'd gone and killed himself again. Now it was just something he longed for. Even if it wasn't something he'd ever really admit.

This was -- it could be good for both of them, if only because it was mutually beneficial.

So he bit at Klaus' earlobe, a sharp nip, and held down just a little bit tighter. "And you'll behave?"

"As much as I need to," Klaus said easily and quickly, he certainly was capable of behaving, though he found most situations rarely called for it. And those that did were rarely worth his time. But this thing with Loki, the sharp press of teeth and the weight of his hand against his throat - well that was something that he considered well worth just a little bit of good behavior.

All thoughts of potentially escaping the realities of this place with any number of the things he'd found through the door were pushed out of his head, instead focused right here and right now.

What made it all better was that Loki did not strike him as the sort to do something he didn't want to do, he could wheedle things out of even the most unwilling when he wanted to - but this was something else entirely.

"What a good boy," Loki murmured, releasing Klaus' neck so that he might lean in for a kiss and to bite his bottom lip on the way there.

It was true, admittedly. Loki didn't do much of anything that he didn't want to. He had a way with words - silver tongued, they'd always called him back on Asgard, and it hadn't been used much as a compliment so much as a warning.

Well, no one had warned Klaus about Loki's tongue, no doubt. But he had plenty of time to learn.
