WHO: Peter B Parker and Obi Wan Kenobi
WHAT: Obi Wan has lost the high ground
WHERE: Just outside town
WHEN: Tuesday Afternoon

Distress signals weren't exactly a normal thing but they were starting to be something that Peter was seeing more and more of as more people found their way to this strange world they'd become stranded in. And well, he never could resist a call for help. So when this one came in Peter made sure he had his web slingers and made his way out past the edge of town and down to the lake where he saw the ship that had crashed there.

He might be able to pull it out, he was strong after all, it was all a matter of leverage really and just how stuck in the mud the ship was already, so you know no telling how that'd go. Peter raised a hand as he approached, just to be sure the guy had seen him coming and he wasn't taking anyone by surprise. The last thing he needed was some jumpy new guy getting carried away.

"Hey!" He called out across the water, "You okay out there?"

Obi-Wan could tell that Peter felt a great deal of pride (he didn't even need the Force for that), so he just smiled and let the man think he did it on his own. No point in explaining his true identity just yet, right?

"Obi-Wan Kenobi." He simply reached for the man's hand and shook. "It's good to meet you Peter. And um..yes. It was actually a surprise. My systems shut down and I had to do my best landing...here. Where is here by the way?"

Peter was still confused. This planet hadn't been on his scanners just moments before. He looked around then back at the man. "I assume you're a local?"

That was certainly an interesting name but, Peter knew better than to comment on something like that, Aunt May would never forgive him if she heard he was making faces at people's names. "Huh, well that's weird, "You were flying by?" He wondered because that was something new, if there were people flying around overhead he certainly hadn't seen any of them, not in ships anyway, he'd noticed both Carol and America up over the town once or twice but as intimidating as they both could be they weren't ships and they didn't seem like they'd been able to get out either.

"Uh... we're calling it Starklandia," He said kind of helplessly, feeling a little silly every time he introduced the place by that name, but you know it had stuck and no one had offered up an alternative so here they were using a ridiculous name with the new people and making terrible first impressions because of it.

"A local? Oh no, no - uh, I'm not actually sure there are any locals." He admitted, frowning, "We have all kind of just shown up, a little less with the crash landing, but you know kind of the same thing. And we just showed up here and we've been stuck ever since."

"Space." The Jedi confirmed and a nod up towards the sky. "As I said, my ship shut down and then...well, here I am." He was lucky to have landed it as intact as it was.

"Starklanida? Interesting." He shook his head at the name. Who was he to judge a place by its name, right? "Is that the name of this planet or the town?" Again, he was just trying to piece together what sort of planet he'd arrived on. But as Peter continued to explain, his small smile faded into a more concerned, serious look. "Shown up? But from where? How?"

That didn't make sense. He wasn't aware of any technology that could do something like that. "Do you have any communication with the outside? Any idea who or what might be behind this?" It sounded rather sinister, and certainly something he would investigate. "Perhaps I can help, even." He assumed that Peter might not know what a Jedi was, but if he did he knew his robes might give him away. Usually, someone would have commented on it by now.

"Who's in charge around here?"

"Right sure, space." Peter agreed, cause that was a place people just were on their own while they were wearing their bathrobe. But you know maybe he had, he wasn't going to judge someone on their choice of outerwear not when he was new in town. "And here you are."

"We haven't really voted on a name, it's just something people started using," He explained and shrugged, feeling like maybe he needed to defend it a little bit for some odd reason. "Uh, I don't think... I'm not sure there is a planet? Well maybe, but the town is Starklandia." There had to be a planet right? Like, they weren't just on some sort of floating city in space that'd be insane.

"It's hard to explain? I had gone through a portal between dimensions and when I came out the other side I was here, but - it's different for everyone." Because yeah if everyone was just jumping through portals the way he had then sure maybe they all got the wires crossed and ended up here, but some of them had been like dead before? Or nearly dead? And this guy had crash landed, it was all kind of weird.

"We can't get any signal out of this place, there's a network but it's local only, and well, we can't seem to leave the town either so you know getting out and like trying to find any sort of outside seems off the books too." He shrugged, it probably wasn't all that helpful for Obi-Wan but you know things were just this messed up unfortunately.

"We don't really have a designated in charge sort of person, maybe Steve - uh Captain Rogers, or Mr. Stark." he shrugged, they would be who he'd go to if he felt like he needed an in charge sort of person he supposed.

"So you think this is a ship, maybe?" The sky and surroundings appeared outdoors. Obi-Wan could feel a breeze on his face. He'd never encountered a ship with such a detailed ecosystem, but he wasn't going to rule out the possibility. Especially considering how Peter reacted to the idea of this being a planet.

As Peter started talking about portals, Obi-Wan was becoming less and less convinced the man was sane. This was beyond anything he'd ever read about or heard of. He slowly nodded, but all he felt from Peter was honesty. The man truly believed what he was saying.

"I think it would be best if I spoke with them. I have a matter of great urgency I need to attend to, and time is a factor." He was trying to stay calm, but after what he'd just been through it was hard. He could feel his anxiety building at every moment. Padme was alone and scared, and her husband was... Well, he had been pushing that thought to the back of the back of his mind.

"A ship? No I don't think so." Peter said shaking his head that sounded kind of crazy, just as much as the idea of this being a whole planet felt kind of weird too, cause like if it was a planet they'd be able to travel to the rest of it right? It was more of a pocket universe, like just a town and that was it. He didn't think this was some sort of empty Earth.

Yeah it was a lot, Peter knew and he didn't blame that slow nod that spoke volumes even if Obi-Wan didn't actually say anything.

"Well come on, we can get back to town and get your phone and see if we can find them," He said simply, he didn't mind handing the guy off to someone else if that was what he wanted, because well - he'd done this several times and it felt like with all that experience he should have a better idea of what he was doing when introducing new people to their situation and yet - that seemed to be a skill that continued to elude him.

He also wasn't about to touch the whole sorry you're stuck here, so your urgent matter is gonna have to wait thing. Cause yeah.

Obi-Wan just nodded, holding back on asking what a phone was but happy to walk with Peter. "Thank you. I'm sure we'll figure this out." He grinned and nodded.

"Interesting abilities, by the way. The..." He held out his arm to indicate the webbing. "What species are you?" He knew it might be rude to ask, but the abilities were new to him and he assumed Peter must be something other than human. Or perhaps just part human.

"Yeah," Peter agreed leading the way back to town, the ship looked pretty much done for so Peter wasn't worried about it going anywhere, so they could come back for it later with a little more help and see about working on it and getting it fixed up again. "No problem, helping people is kind of what I do."

"Oh," Peter huffed softly when Obi-Wan mentioned the web-slingers and then almost stopped when he asked what species he was, "I ... am a human?" He said okay yeah it wasn't a question, but he'd never had anyone ask him what species he was, he was just used to people okay. People with ability maybe, but you know they were all still human at the end of the day. For the most part.

"These are actually web-slingers." He held out his arm for Obi-Wan to see the device he used to create the webbing, "I created web-fluid and then designed these to shoot it out, so I can use it for well pulling, normally I use it to swing around the city but were a little vertically limited here." He explained.

"You...swing?" Okay, that was weird. Obi-Wan didn't see a lot of things that surprised him these days, but that was one of them. "Around a city? Why?" He was trying to figure this one out. Never in his life had he seen or heard of such a thing. "Doesn't it get in the way of speeders? I'd think taking a vehicle would get you there faster."

Then he thought back to Peter trying to drag the ship out and asked. "...Your strength...most humans wouldn't try to pull a speeder out like that let alone a space-worthy ship. How did you think you could do it?"

He was starting to suspect things were not all they seemed here. And that maybe this Peter didn't even know who or what Obi-Wan actually was. That would be a change.

"It's faster than driving?" Peter shrugged and being up high was good for what he did, being able to keep an eye on the city and things like that. "Speeders?" he asked frowning he didn't know what that was but whatever it was it wasn't anything that got in his way while he was swinging through the city. "I don't think we have those, I'm pretty much the only thing up there, except for maybe the rare helicopter but those aren't around that often."

Okay the strength was maybe not strictly like normal human but that didn't make him not human either. "Uh well I'm kind of super powered?" He admitted lifting his shoulders just a bit, "So I can do things that most people can't. So I've got more strength than your average person, and I'm faster than most people too."

But you know other than that and a few other things Peter was totally normal. Totally.

Obi-Wan shook his head, curious about this world and what Peter was describing. "I can't recall being too many planets without some form of speeder..." Perhaps because the influence of so many galactic alliances had a far, far reach. Then again, in ancient times it was probably less-so. And with less technologies. it occurred to Obi-Wan it might be possible that he was in such a timeline, but that seemed impossible too.

And yet...none of this made sense. He could still not feel the presence of any other Force users...and everything beyond his immediate environment felt empty. It was troubling.

"Super-powered?" This was amusing, and yet- no. This man was no Force user. "Hmm..." He stopped for a moment and stared at Peter.

"You say this is not a planet, but another place entirely? "

"How many planets have you been to?" Peter wondered, because sure there were other planets and stuff out there, but most humans only really knew about the one, it was the rare few who knew how far reaching the galaxy could be. And even then Peter had only ever really hung around Earth, he was much more a New York boy than he was astronaut.

Something about this guy was strange, he dressed like he was still getting ready for his day, or maybe like he was from a lot longer ago than he seemed, but at the same time he was in a space ship so that couldn't be true. Maybe there was some kind of collapse of modern society and people just started wearing robes everywhere they went, he quickly glanced down at his feet to make sure he didn't also have slippers on, but that the technology managed to stick around - that didn't really make sense but maybe it was what had happened?

"Uh yeah, you know like... the Avengers?" He offered, maybe he hadn't heard of Spider-Man but most people had heard of the Avengers.

"I don't know for certain but from what I've been able to observe so far we're in some sort of pocket dimension, it's bringing together people from all different realities and putting them here in this one place for some reason that I haven't really been able to work out just yet." He shrugged, he wished he had better answers but this was where he was with things. "It doesn't feel like a planet because we can't leave the town - you try and go through the woods and you end up on the other side of town when you come back out again, you try and fly out but you get stopped in the sky, there doesn't seem to be a way to leave. Why have a whole planet when you only need this?"

Obi-Wan laughed. "Many. Dozens at the very least. I suppose I'd have to really think about it since I've never counted." He had noticed the man look down at his boots, which was curious but he said nothing about it.

"Avengers of what?" He truly didn't know what the man was talking about.

Different realities. That seemed odd, but he was trying to follow along. From what was being described, Obi-Wan was starting to think of several things it could be. None of them good. Something in his face darkened and he looked back at the town. Still..he could feel nothing.

"....There is no presence here." He said quietly. "The Force is unusually quiet It's never this quiet." He started walking towards the town.

"I'm going to ask you a question that might seem strange- do you know of the Jedi? Or of the Galactic Republic?"

"Dozens?" Okay that was pretty cool for a guy in his bathrobe, he could dress however he liked Peter decided. "Are there people on all the planets you've visited?" Not that it was any less cool if there wasn't, it was pretty damn cool either way.

Okay definitely from a different dimension entirely if he didn't know about the Avengers. "Have you heard of Superman?" He wondered because he was from another dimension too, but he was super powered as well - that could maybe help smooth things out a little.

He watched as the man looked toward town, frowning like he was looking for something but couldn't see it. "The force?" Okay yeah, that did sound strange, there was no denying it and Peter just held out his hands as he shrugged. "Uh, no I can't say that I've heard of either of those things."

Obi-Wan laughed. Yes, either this planet was different or the people here were not very advanced. "Of course. All sorts, all species." He shook his head." I am going to guess that your planet has yet to be space-bound?"

He again shook his head, the name unfamiliar to him. "Unfortunately, no."

"Hm. Okay. Well, the fate of a larger civilization is at stake. I'm a Jedi, sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves and to follow the light side of the Force. It's hard enough to explain the Force to those who know what Jedi are but needless to say my mission has galactic consequences and it's very important that I return to it as soon as possible." He was clearly a man of singular focus. "WIll you help me, Peter Parker?

"I mean we've been to space, there's just not you know.... people out there." He shrugged but he supposed different, well there were people just you know, not tons, and they certainly weren't you know traveling to dozens of planets finding people out there. It was definitely a different situation.

Okay so some other dimension all together then, which was strange, but Peter supposed, not stranger than any other person arriving from some place he'd never heard of.

Peter wasn't sure what to do with Obi-Wan's request, cause like of course he'd held but Peter was pretty sure this place wasn't making exceptions for the fate of civilization. "That's intense," He said finally, "I'll help you as much as I can, but I've got to be honest with you man, we've been stuck here for almost three months and no one has been able to figure a way out. But if you want to try and help we're all hoping to find a way home again."

To Obi-Wan, it still sounded primitive. He said nothing more of it, though he was definitely trying to piece together how this man had such powers and why he would be called to a place like this. Whatever this place was.

"Alright. Then we'll work together." It wasn't the first impossible situation he had found himself in, and he doubted it would be the last. "Perhaps you could update me on what you know so far? Is there a cantina somewhere?" Was that what they called it?

"A place for drinks, I mean." Because he was starting to feel like he could use one. If only to try to wrap his head around the situation.

"Okay, then." Peter agreed he was happy to try and see if this guy had a new take on the situation they found themselves in, because he felt like he was coming up against a wall every time he tried to think of a way out, or even just a reason for them all being here.

Peter couldn't help the way his eyebrow went up when Obi-Wan asked about a cantina, he was pretty sure he'd been to one before, some little hole in the wall place MJ had found where they got tapas and drank until they were both flushed and stumbled home some hours later.

"Oh yeah, yeah we have a bar," Peter agreed, sure it had a rough time over the weekend but he and Carol both had made sure that America and Jan knew they were going to sort it out and get the place back in working order after what they'd done so you know it was pretty much back in full working order. "I actually run it with my friend."

"So you're the welcoming committee and the cantina owner. Anything you don't do?" Obi-Wan smirked and shook his head, now taking a few steps ahead of Peter towards the town.

"We can discuss the rest of the plan there." He also knew it was the best place to meet anyone else who might be important, right?

Peter huffed and shrugged, "Just kind of happened that way, for some reason I tend to be around a lot when we get new people." He admitted, it was a little weird but he didn't mind it that much. It was a confusing thing to wind up here and well maybe he didn't make it easier but he could be a friendly face through it all at least. And well the town had needs after all, and if it was something he could do to make it better then he'd certainly be there to do it.

"Yeah, we can introduce you to Carol to while we're there, she's been to space, you'll like her." He added with a small smirk.

"Hm..." Obi-Wan nodded as they walked, staring ahead at the town as they drew closer and realizing just how small it was. And how old even the buildings looked.

"Who is Carol?" He spoke over his shoulder, already putting together lists in his head. He'd talk to these locals, perhaps scavenge around to try to repair his ship. A booster might help his communication signals to go farther. Yes. While Peter doubted there was a way out, for Obi-Wan that wasn't a possibility. There was always a way.

"Thank you, by the way. For your assistance. I know there are many people in the universe that would not be so willing to help."

Peter was amused watching Obi-Wan walk ahead of him, to be fair of course it wasn't like the town wasn't in plain sight, but still. "She runs the bar with me, lives above it - she's kind of like me? But you know... cooler and stronger and all of that." He shrugged, it was hard to quantify super heroes, but you know sometimes you just did what you could for the sake of ease.

She might have some idea of what he was talking about too, since she'd been of world for so long, Peter was positive there was plenty out there in the galaxy that he'd never heard of but that Carol was more than familiar with. So it'd be a good place for him to start.

"Oh no problem, it's kind of what I do. Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and all that." He waved off the thanks, he never had done what he did for that, if someone was in need of course he'd help out. Especially since he'd gotten that reminder of who and what he was with Miles.

Obi-Wan laughed and nodded. "Sounds like someone else I know." His thoughts drifted to Padme and his smile faded some.

"Spider-Man? Is that what they call you? A bit on the nose, don't you think?" Obi raised an eyebrow at Peter as he waited for him to catch up. "Are there others who can do that here? The um...web-thing?"

He was curious to know about those who were trapped here. He figured it was just like any other well-traversed town. New species, new people. It was exciting, and if it weren't for the crisis at hand, Obi-Wan would have loved to stay and get to learn all about it.

"Yeah?" Peter asked grinning, "Do you have superheros where you're from?" He wondered, seeing the way Obi-Wan's smile faded he didn't ask directly about the person he knew but gave him something a little more general, and hopefully easier.

"Well I named myself, but yeah. When I've got my costume on, people call me Spider-Man." He agreed and shrugged. "I got bitten by a radio active spider, it only seemed right that it become a part of my new identity." He'd built his entire identity up around that and it had worked for him all these years, it had better be on the nose. "Actually yeah, that's the thing about this place it brings people from different dimensions together - but that means sometimes parallel dimensions, so there is another Peter Parker here who is also Spider-Man where he's from. And then there are others from slightly altered universes who have similar powers." He wouldn't out Miles and Gwen, they could do it on their own after all.

"Most of the others have their own powers though, none of them are from the place I'm from so you know I don't know everything they can do." Though they did all seem similar enough to their counterparts that he wasn't too surprised by most of it.

Obi-Wan smirked a little, a hint of something in his eye and he nodded. "We do. We call them Force users. The most famous are the Jedi." He smiled at Peter, letting him put the pieces together and now this might be a bit more enjoyable to toy with him.

Different versions of the same person? That did seem...new. He couldn't remember hearing of something like that occurring in any stories he'd read before and wondered how such a thing could even be possible.

"Interesting." A simple comment as he shook his head, wrapping his mind around it.

"Well, only have Jedi. Though others species have different abilities. However..." He looked around and saw the remains of a fallen try. Lifting his hand, he concentrated, tapping into what he could feel of the Force and the branches and trunk slowly raised into the air. Obi-Wan smiled at Peter. "We make due. We use the Force- which is the essence and energy of all things in the Universe. It connects everything and everyone. And it grants us abilities like this when you're tuned in enough to it. Though....it can also be dangerous." He lowered the tree again and shook his head.

Peter was surprised to hear Obi-Wan say that they had their own superheros where he was from, but he supposed it shouldn't have surprised him, most places seemed to have something like that, at least from what he'd seen so far. Jedi was a weird name, but maybe no weirder than the Avengers sounded to Obi-Wan.

Yeah it was complicated, Peter knew that - it'd probably be easier for Obi-Wan to wrap his mind around when he did actually meet the other Peter Parker and maybe the Tonys and Steves, nothing like a little empirical evidence to prove a point after all. "You have no idea, man."

It was interesting though that there would be only one kind of power developed by people where he was from, but then Obi-Wan paused and held out hand. Peter thought maybe he'd like shoot something out of him or maybe like.... punch something? Whatever he didn't know, he didn't expect the log to start lifting up off the ground but it did and his Spider-Senses were all over the place at that little display. "Wow, that's pretty - can anyone do that?" He wondered and then paused narrowing his eyes at the log and then back at Obi-Wan and then back over his shoulder to where they'd left the ship up on dry land.

"Did you-" He held out his own hand and made what was more a face of concentration and less of constipation mimicking what he'd just seen Obi-Wan do with the tree, "To the ship earlier?"

He was definitely pleased with Peter's reaction to what he saw and tried not to laugh when he was asked about the ship. "Maybe a little." There was a coyness in the way he answered, even winking and shaking his head. "I mean, that's not all we can do, but it's an example. Some Jedi used to be able to fly, I hear." Of course, those were centuries old tales.

"If by the only powers you mean the only natural super...ability, then yes? But some have cyber enhancements, nothing nearly as powerful as Force users, though. And the talents can vary. Some are better at persuasion, others can predict the future, it really depends on the power of the Jedi..or Sith." He paused, shaking his head. "Either way, I hope that answers at least some of your questions."

"Yeah?" Peter asked grinning at the thought of that, it was pretty cool really, to be able to tap into some sort of energy that was in all things and be able to use it like that, whether it was to lift things or fly or whatever else these Jedi could do. "That force stuff sounds pretty cool."

So that was interesting, that some were better at it than others, it made sense of course, but you know - it was just different from what he knew. "Some of them, I'm sure I can come up with about a million more, but I'll let you settle in a bit more before I start throwing those at you." Peter promised with a small grin.

They were nearly back to town, it really was a small area they were confined to, but it was starting to maybe not feel like home, but feel a little less like a place they were just squatting in for the time being. "In the mean time we're nearly there so hopefully we can get a couple more of your questions answered."
