Who: Anyone who wants to come by
What: Grand-opening party!
Where: Pancho's Bar
When: Friday Night

The streamers were up (because Jan had insisted), and the bar was as ready as it ever would be. Alcohol was stored in a few make-shift shelves on the back wall and a relatively well-cobbled together bar was freshly polished and ready to go. It wasn't the most well-put-together, place, but Pancho's definitely resembled its namesake in terms of dim lighting, chipped tables and a floor that looked like it should be sticky. All in all, Carol was pretty proud of what they'd made. The minifridge was even a good choice since it allowed them to keep some drinks cold (they were going to have to find a larger one in the future, though).

She had warned Peter that the pizza oven needed to be ready by that evening, but she wasn't sure how on the ball with that he was. She'd been busy doing damage control on some electrical issues they were having with the fridge and double checking to make sure they actually had drinking cups (that took a little bit of maneuvering, but Clint came through with the coffee mugs). Yup, vodka from coffee mugs, a mini-fridge filled with a variety of stolen beers, and mismatched chairs. And, of course, the balloons. The annoying, awful squeaky balloons that had floated into a couple of corners of the room, save for the two that kept dragging on the floor and that Carol dreaded would pop at some point that evening. Definitely professional.

Karaoke was set up in one corner of the room with a make-shift stage and Christmas lights (Yes, more Christmas lights) decorating around it. Old 80s rock music blasted from the speakers for now, and Carol stood behind the bar, ready to serve as needed but more than willing to drag anyone else into the position should they so choose that evening.

Thirteen | Rose :: Can you get drunk?

“Sounds kind of boring,” she echoed her thoughts. “I mean, you’re the Doctor! You can’t be without your TARDIS!” She remembered the few moments she had seen the Doctor with his TARDIS and she couldn’t imagine him (or her) without it. Still, it also seemed like the Doctor to give themself a ridiculous challenge like that, just to see if they could. Still, she figured the Doctor would get bored without it sooner rather than later.

“Crystals and a biscuit dispenser?” Rose tried to imagine but her mind kept going back to the TARDIS she remembered. “Is my room still there?” Probably being used by one of the other companions, but she wondered if some of her clothes might still be on board. Was that weird? “And the pool? I remember never being able to find it, so I just wore my bathing suit under my clothes for a bit of time.” Ridiculous, but she actually had. She had become fairly familiar with the TARDIS layout, but for whatever reason, the pool seemed to be the one room that continued to evade her.

Rose tried to give her a reassuring smile back, but she wasn’t sure how convincing it was. So she slammed back the rest of her drink, setting the empty bottle on the table and glanced towards the karaoke machine. “Whaddya say Doctor? Ready to get our groove on?”

"It was. Most of the time, it was." The Doctor smiled, but it was probably obvious something behind her eyes was different. She was hiding stories about what she'd been through on Trenzalor, things that Rose didn't need to know. Not now, perhaps never. Changing the subject was good.

Yes. Talking about the now (or closer to now) was best! "Oh! I'd have to check, the rooms tend to shift around a bit each time. There's still a pool- I think. Somewhere? I hope. Haven't found it just yet." Poor Rose. The Doctor remembered that fact fondly, smiling and leaning back against her seat.

And then, Rose was turning her attention to the machine and 13 had to remind herself what Rose was talking about. "Groovin' is good. i'm good at groovin'. Sometimes. But yes! Are you ready?" She grinned, happy to focus on current activities and situations. Sometimes it was better that way.
