Who: Anyone who wants to come by
What: Grand-opening party!
Where: Pancho's Bar
When: Friday Night

The streamers were up (because Jan had insisted), and the bar was as ready as it ever would be. Alcohol was stored in a few make-shift shelves on the back wall and a relatively well-cobbled together bar was freshly polished and ready to go. It wasn't the most well-put-together, place, but Pancho's definitely resembled its namesake in terms of dim lighting, chipped tables and a floor that looked like it should be sticky. All in all, Carol was pretty proud of what they'd made. The minifridge was even a good choice since it allowed them to keep some drinks cold (they were going to have to find a larger one in the future, though).

She had warned Peter that the pizza oven needed to be ready by that evening, but she wasn't sure how on the ball with that he was. She'd been busy doing damage control on some electrical issues they were having with the fridge and double checking to make sure they actually had drinking cups (that took a little bit of maneuvering, but Clint came through with the coffee mugs). Yup, vodka from coffee mugs, a mini-fridge filled with a variety of stolen beers, and mismatched chairs. And, of course, the balloons. The annoying, awful squeaky balloons that had floated into a couple of corners of the room, save for the two that kept dragging on the floor and that Carol dreaded would pop at some point that evening. Definitely professional.

Karaoke was set up in one corner of the room with a make-shift stage and Christmas lights (Yes, more Christmas lights) decorating around it. Old 80s rock music blasted from the speakers for now, and Carol stood behind the bar, ready to serve as needed but more than willing to drag anyone else into the position should they so choose that evening.

America | Jan :: IN YOUR DREAMS CHAVEZ

Jan couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, my bad, I didn't realize this," she boxed the air in front of them, "was America only space!" She held her hands up in surrender but smirked. "Out of the whole room you just happened to be in this area? Alright. I guess we've been dodging each other for long enough." Too long. Jan didn't want to tear the town apart, especially after they had come together to really make it more like home. At least comfortable while they tried to figure out how all of this was working. But she might be willing to sacrifice a few broken buildings and extra supply runs through the doorway if it knocked that obnoxious look off of America's face. Why did she always have to be so UPSET all the time. It wasn't like they all wanted to be there, but you couldn't just be sad about it! You made the best of a bad situation! At least she had friends here with her! Jan caught sight of the Kate behind her and couldn't hold it back any longer; she rolled her eyes. While Kate was a different kind of raven-haired beauty, she couldn't even compare to Tony. America was crazy.

"C'mon, Chavez, what's your problem? We're just trying to have a good time and you want to come in and make it all sad and dreary! At least your girlfriend is here!"

America | Jan :: OH NO YOU DIDN'T

"What's your problem," America scoffed, she hadn't come out looking to fight with anyone but it seemed like that was exactly what Jan wanted. "I'm just out here trying to have a good time and you have to come in here running into people. Just watch where you're going. It's not that hard." That girl was always pushing her buttons like it was what she lived to do, to get in America's way and try and make life more difficult for her. But considering her taste in names she guessed she shouldn't have been surprised.

"Excuse me?" She said eyebrows creeping up when Jan started in on her mood and called Kate her girlfriend. "What is wrong with you? Did you come out here just to start a fight? Because you messed with the wrong chica, little girl." America might not have wanted to fight but you know she never backed down from one either. And she certainly wasn't going to be talked to like that by someone like Jan, who was only just this side of insane.

America | Jan :: HA TRY ME

"Oh sooorrry for getting in your way! Guess I just have to be brushed aside and stomped on by the great America Chavez! Thought you were cooler than that chica." Alright, so maybe that was going a little too far, but Jan was upset! She didn't understand why America was actually upset with her because NO ONE would actually get that upset about the name of a village. Especially when, in the end, it was all in good fun! Everyone else thought it was funny, why did Chavez have to be the one to ruin all the fun?

Despite her appearance, Jan wasn't one to back down from a fight. She puffed out her chest a little, standing up a bit straighter and gave America a small, but cold smile. "I wouldn't say I wanted to start one, but I wouldn't be opposed to one either." What she had hoped to be something that could be water under the bridge, it was obvious that they needed to settle this once and for all. And if it included some physical punches being thrown, so be it.

America was an intimidating person and that was kinda an understatement. Jan knew what kinds of things she could do, her powers, and her mind was already coming up with a strategy to kick her butt. Not actually hurt her, she doubted either one of them was that upset, but definitely enough to maybe embarrass her and knock her down a few pegs.

Yeah, that sounded perfect.

"C'mon Chavez, you and me, we can finish this. Last woman standing is the victor." Which, obviously, would be Jan.

America | Jan :: YOU'RE DEAD
[info]starsandhearts

Jesus what was wrong with this girl, it wasn't like America had been wandering around slamming into people then talking down at them for doing it in the first place. It was like Jan had wanted to fight from the start, and maybe she had, but if that was true she'd picked the wrong girl to mess with. America didn't back down from a fight, not even when it was against little pipsqueaks like Jan.

"Fine then, don't cry about it later when you've got a face full of dirt, you asked for this." She didn't care about the stupid name of the town, she called it what she liked, what she cared about was Jan being an insensitive jerk and maybe she cared about it a little bit more than she might have normally after having a little bit to drink. But the point remained she was angry and she wasn't going to let Jan push her around and insult her just because she wanted to.

So if Jan wanted to fight then they were going to fight.

And America well - she didn't fight by the rules, when Jan threw down the gauntlet America didn't bother to pick it up instead she threw the first punch without hesitation, Jan had messed with the wrong girl and she was about to see how true that was.

America | Jan :: BRING IT
[info]tiny_queenbee
2019-04-25 12:49 am UTC (link)
Jan flew across the room, taking out a few tables and chairs before her back hit the wall. Oh, so it was going to be like that was it? "Always trying to get the upper hand, no matter what, huh?" Jan swore under her breath and jumped up, shrinking down to make a beeline at America. She turned, her foot out to kick her square in the chest. While her size may have been tiny, it was the optimal force to try and match what she had dished to her.

As her foot connected with America's chest, Jan grew bigger and pushed herself backwards, away from any more swings that America might wanna try and dole out. "Nice of you to try and sucker punch me before I'm actually ready."

Re: America | Jan :: IT'S ALREADY BEEN BROUGHTEN

Maybe they should have taken this outside to start with but America was so annoyed with Jan and why couldn't she just leave her alone. She hadn't bothered trying to talk to her since they'd had their initial argument about the stupid name that America was definitely not using for the town, and she didn't mess with her stupid boyfriend Tony, so why did Jan have to come along and try and ruin America's good night?

Which was why she didn't bother taking it outside, punching first and then maybe once the dust had settled she'd ask questions later. Jan went flying with the hit and then suddenly she was tiny and hitting back at America, and she only managed to keep her feet under her, but she definitely took out a couple of tables in the process.

"You get to be ready when you start a fight," America scoffed rising up off the ground and flew at Jan again, ignoring what were probably shouts for them to stop as she did.

America | Jan :: THAT'S NOT EVEN A WORD

As soon as America started to come at her again, Jan was ready. She followed suit, flying towards her opponent, picking up a chair and tossing it towards America. She was hoping for a distraction as she shrunk amongst the commotion and went to punch her in the jaw. She hadn't even scratched her last time and she didn't want to be the only one feeling this tomorrow morning.

Distant shouts were heard, but they were all in the background as Jan tried to dodge and fly around the various punches America seemed to be throwing. She'd shift between tiny and large, trying to get a punch or kick in, smiling if one landed. She was already starting to feel a bit better, even if she was taking a few more hits then what she could land.

America | Jan | Tony :: HAVEN'T YOU SEEN 'NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE' YOU PLEB???
[info]starsandhearts

It had been a while since America had gotten to fight like this, and honestly she missed it, it felt good to throw punches and feel like she could take out some of her frustrations with being stuck her on someone deserving of her ire. And Jan had definitely earned each and every hit that America aimed at her.

Tony who had been debating whether or not he should just go home after a truly embarrassing night hadn't expected any sort of fighting but suddenly tables and chairs were being toppled over and America and Jan were throwing punches and well - this was definitely a distraction from his really bad night but he had a feeling they'd both be feeling pretty ashamed of what was going on come morning.

"Jan what are you doing!?" He tried to get her attention, pushing through to maybe get between them, though please don't hit the face he bruised easily. "Come on guys! Stop this!"

America | Jan | Tony | Kate:: ARE WE SERIOUSLY QUOTING MOVIES RIGHT NOW?
[info]tiny_queenbee
2019-04-26 04:48 pm UTC (link)
It took Jan a moment to register that Tony had somehow gotten in the middle of things as her sights were on America and trying her best to knock the girl out. She didn't actually want to hurt her per se, but she would find immense satisfaction in seeing her walk around with a black eye.

Her fist was bunched, coiled back to spring at America and she almost ended up hitting Tony. "Get out of the way Ton!" She tried to duck and move past him; this punch had America's name on it.

As soon as the fight had broken out, Kate had stepped back because she thought it might be good for the two of them to get their energy out; it had been building ever since their arrival and maybe they just needed to let out some steam. But then it had escalated and their new bar was beginning to get trampled.

Kate knew better than to get in the middle of an America fight, but Tony's interjection caught her attention and she sighed. Well, she couldn't let him get pummeled like Jan. "America...AMERICA!" She was going to regret doing this. She pushed her way through, stepping in the middle of the fight, placing herself in front of America. "Hey...HEY! Cut it out!" She raised her hands, praying that America would notice it was her and not her opponent. "It's our new bar and you're tearing it apart! Where else are we going to get a drink after something like this?" Because Kate definitely felt like one more before the night was over. If there was anything left to be salvaged from this incident.

America | Jan | Tony | Kate:: YOU STARTED THIS
[info]starsandhearts
2019-04-27 01:21 am UTC (link)
"Come on, Jan this isn't you." Tony said holding up both his hands standing between his best friend and America both of them looking very much like they'd love nothing more than to charge right through him and well - that'd just be the cherry on top of his night if he was being honest, but he trusted his friend.

And well he trusted America too - not in the same way of course, but she was one of the good guys. "Come on, let's go outside, you and me we can cool off for a bit." He suggested because the bar wasn't going to survive a full out brawl and they were definitely headed in that direction it was obvious.

America, well part of her was tempted to go right through Tony, but her fight wasn't with him - she didn't care about him one way or the other, Jan was the one who kept pushing, and demanding things that were frankly ridiculous, and making decisions for everyone when she had no right. And America just wanted to have a nice night, and Jan had to go and ruin that too - it wasn't enough that she was a pain every other minute of the day she had to be one here too.

But then there was Kate and well... Kate was her girl. And after that it was pretty hard not to see the damage they'd done already, how very quickly things had escalated and she deflated. "I-" She started and stopped, "I have to go." She didn't bother looking back or worrying about Jan and if she was going to be stopped by Tony, America just needed to get out of there and so she ran, right out the door and into the night away from everything and everyone.
