Who: Anyone who wants to come by
What: Grand-opening party!
Where: Pancho's Bar
When: Friday Night

The streamers were up (because Jan had insisted), and the bar was as ready as it ever would be. Alcohol was stored in a few make-shift shelves on the back wall and a relatively well-cobbled together bar was freshly polished and ready to go. It wasn't the most well-put-together, place, but Pancho's definitely resembled its namesake in terms of dim lighting, chipped tables and a floor that looked like it should be sticky. All in all, Carol was pretty proud of what they'd made. The minifridge was even a good choice since it allowed them to keep some drinks cold (they were going to have to find a larger one in the future, though).

She had warned Peter that the pizza oven needed to be ready by that evening, but she wasn't sure how on the ball with that he was. She'd been busy doing damage control on some electrical issues they were having with the fridge and double checking to make sure they actually had drinking cups (that took a little bit of maneuvering, but Clint came through with the coffee mugs). Yup, vodka from coffee mugs, a mini-fridge filled with a variety of stolen beers, and mismatched chairs. And, of course, the balloons. The annoying, awful squeaky balloons that had floated into a couple of corners of the room, save for the two that kept dragging on the floor and that Carol dreaded would pop at some point that evening. Definitely professional.

Karaoke was set up in one corner of the room with a make-shift stage and Christmas lights (Yes, more Christmas lights) decorating around it. Old 80s rock music blasted from the speakers for now, and Carol stood behind the bar, ready to serve as needed but more than willing to drag anyone else into the position should they so choose that evening.

The thing was Tony was doing his best, he wasn't great at it of course, if he was he'd have had a much easier time dealing with his friends and you know just navigating the whole sort of trying to be a hero thing. Maybe his priorities were weird - but you know it was good for him, to let loose sometimes, to focus his sort of more manic energies on collecting cheeses and a little less on the other things he could be doing with himself. And Jan helped too - talking him down when he worked himself up over something that probably wasn't that big of a deal at the end of the day.

"Yeah," He agreed when Tony mentioned the cave. That was something he knew and it seemed like this Tony knew about it too and he kind of wanted to ask but really looking at Tony told him enough to know that he didn't really need to know more than that. "The academy came after." Because that was easier and safer and well frankly more fun than anything having to do with what came before.

"Iron Man came first, then the Academy - it was just me at the beginning then Jan, and then we got Loki and after that more and more people started joining up. And we just kind of ... you know? Tried our best to work together, to stop people from trying to take over the world, things like that." He shrugged and finished his drink.

"Hi," He said after he set the cup back down again.

Weird, Tony thought. But maybe the age difference was what did it -- when Tony had first started as Iron Man, he'd been nearly forty already. He hadn't been looking for a group to join, not even remotely. It was necessity more than anything else that had eventually gotten him to mesh with the Avengers -- had someone invited him to a school? He would have denied that request immediately. If he'd been in his late teens though? Yeah. Maybe he might have gone for it. Learning proper cohesion probably wasn't a bad idea, considering how poorly his own world's Avengers managed sometimes.

"I didn't get started until I was... thirty eight?" Tony said, figuring that maybe the other Tony might want some information too. Even at that age, he'd sought out information enough to maybe come off as a bit nosy, sometimes. "But wait, Loki? Like, Thor's brother?" He'd heard tell of one being here, but he hadn't actually seen the guy or seen a threat as of yet, but that didn't mean he wasn't wary. "Who possibly could work on that faculty at a school like that?"

Thirty eight. Just hearing that felt like forever away to Tony, what did he do with all that time before then? Tony couldn't imagine it. "What were you - I mean before?" He couldn't help himself, because it was so many years between now and then and Tony wasn't sure what those years could have been filled with.

"Oh yeah, Thor's brother, Odin made him join up actually." He shrugged, they had a complicated family but Loki had been a welcome addition to the Academy, even if he left Tony feeling a little flushed and awkward from time to time. Not unlike the one who was here now. But the one who was here now - Tony didn't think he would be one that this Tony would know either, which meant yet another Loki out there somewhere and that idea was kind of terrifying.

"Nick Fury started the school, with Odin's help. Hank Pym, Ares, I built some robots to help with training." He started listing off some of the Academy teachers, a lot of it they did on their own though, figuring out how best to work together, how to get stronger and better defend not just the school but the world too.

"A merchant of death," Tony said, going for a tone that was slightly sarcastic, but failing somewhat. Liquor ruined that edge, frankly. "I was the CEO and head of R&D for Stark Industries." And jesus, he'd been so, so good at selling weapons. Every now and again he thought about how much simpler life had been when he'd been blissfully ignorant.

"Odin. Of course he did," he said a little blankly, because that didn't fit his image of Odin or Loki and frankly, Tony didn't care for that shit at all. He also didn't care for that professor's roster. And not only because he didn't know who Ares was. Hank Pym? Really? Tony was so surprised by it that he didn't even have any words right away. "Well, at least you had a Jan," he said after a minute because it seemed better than whatever else he could come up with.

"Anyway," he went on, standing rather abruptly -- and feeling very proud of himself for not toppling immediately. "I'll leave you to it."
