Who: Anyone who wants to come by
What: Grand-opening party!
Where: Pancho's Bar
When: Friday Night

The streamers were up (because Jan had insisted), and the bar was as ready as it ever would be. Alcohol was stored in a few make-shift shelves on the back wall and a relatively well-cobbled together bar was freshly polished and ready to go. It wasn't the most well-put-together, place, but Pancho's definitely resembled its namesake in terms of dim lighting, chipped tables and a floor that looked like it should be sticky. All in all, Carol was pretty proud of what they'd made. The minifridge was even a good choice since it allowed them to keep some drinks cold (they were going to have to find a larger one in the future, though).

She had warned Peter that the pizza oven needed to be ready by that evening, but she wasn't sure how on the ball with that he was. She'd been busy doing damage control on some electrical issues they were having with the fridge and double checking to make sure they actually had drinking cups (that took a little bit of maneuvering, but Clint came through with the coffee mugs). Yup, vodka from coffee mugs, a mini-fridge filled with a variety of stolen beers, and mismatched chairs. And, of course, the balloons. The annoying, awful squeaky balloons that had floated into a couple of corners of the room, save for the two that kept dragging on the floor and that Carol dreaded would pop at some point that evening. Definitely professional.

Karaoke was set up in one corner of the room with a make-shift stage and Christmas lights (Yes, more Christmas lights) decorating around it. Old 80s rock music blasted from the speakers for now, and Carol stood behind the bar, ready to serve as needed but more than willing to drag anyone else into the position should they so choose that evening.

Oh yes. She'd heard of Asgard. "I know of them." Arrogant sons of bitches who liked to place themselves above a lot of other races in the universe. She hadn't heard the name Thor, necessarily, but she had heard of Loki and Odin in her time traveling the universe. Mostly because of the destruction they'd left behind. She finished the liquor in her cup and filled it again, offering Tony a bit more. Between the two of them, there was probably going to be no scotch left by the end of this conversation.

"Asgardians have a flair for the dramatic. Kree...not so much." She smirked. "Though the cape sounds fun. I almost considered wearing a cape. Okay, not really." She smiled and took a drink of the newly filled mug.

"So...did he name himself after the god Thor or was it a vise-versa sort of thing?"

Hulk sounded like someone they'd want on their side. Carol nodded. "There's a warrior on Sakaar that reminds me of. Big green guy, very popular. I lost a bet once because of him." She didn't really get to stay on the planet for that long. There was always something else she had to do- another emergency to rush off to solve.

Tony finished off his scotch in one quick swallow before letting Carol top him up because it was starting to feel a little bit like he ought to just be keeping up now. Not like a competition, exactly, but something close enough. An unspoken competition, maybe.

"I can't think of a single advantage to having a cape," he said honestly, even if a proper set of drapes did hang dramatic and striking on Thor. Didn't matter, it wasn't for him. And he couldn't see it being for Carol either. "But I'm pretty sure it was the vice versa. Norse legends after him and not the other way around? I don't know. It's a headache to consider."

Tony's eyebrows rose over that though. "He is a big green guy. One who'd sort of gone missing in space for a year or so. Might have been him." Weird to think that Bruce had been one of Tony's better friends before falling off the map so suddenly.

Carol probably should have warned him that she was a quick drinker and that it took her more to feel anything from the alcohol due to her powers and Kree blood. But where was the fun in that? Especially seeing Tony Stark think he stood a chance. So, she let him and kept mum for now. She'd make sure she stopped pouring before she had to carry him home (hopefully).

"Yeah, neither could I. Kept thinking about how I could get caught in a jet engine or something, and that wouldn't be any good." Mostly for the get. She was pretty sure she'd just blow through it and be fine, but it wasn't worth the risk.

"Huh." She was letting it settle that Tony's Thor could be the same as the mythological Norse god, Thor. Another drink and she shook her head. "How old is he?"

Tony's description sounded dead on, and Carol tilted her head to one side. "Your Hulk didn't wear purple pants, did he?" She was starting to think they were one int he same. "I almost took him on for the hell of it, but didn't have the time. Now I kinda wish I had."

He'd figure it on his own eventually. Maybe. Probably. He was a genius, even when he was drunk. It was just that he stopped being quite as observational when he was too. They'd get to it when they got there. For now, Tony was simply enjoying the conversation and the abundance.

"Exactly. And then it'd get in the way during flight. Or fly into your face when you're trying to make a dramatic speech. It's just a bad design. But I'm telling you, he pulls it off. Somehow. It's absolutely ridiculous. Strange could do the same thing, actually. At least his cape was weird and sentient, though. "He's -- somewhere past a thousand, I think. Which apparently to him is like, twenty five? It was a conversation once." And Tony, probably not that ironically, had been drunk.

He paused though, at that question. "Well, for a while there he didn't wear anything, but it was blinding old ladies and small children so I -- yeah. He's got purple pants. Jesus. Small universe."

Carol laughed at the thought of trying to give some dramatic, hero speech only to have a cape flying around her face. Oh yeah, that would definitely go over well with the likes of Ronan the Accuser breathing down her throat. "Okay, definitely never going to try the cape thing."

Wait, she was having trouble following drunk-Tony's conversation. He jumped from Thor to someone else and a sentient piece of clothing? She made a face, looking at Tony like he was losing it. She was amused, though. She was definitely going to keep plying him with alcohol just to see what would happen.

There was a man truly that old? She'd heard of beings in the galaxy that could love so long, but someone who came to Earth? That was new. "Huh. Guess I can't brag about looking good for my age anymore, huh?"

Again, Carol laughed. The scotch was definitely starting to do the trick. "Poor mothers and children! Thank god for purple pants. Yeah, this sounds like the same guy. He was a super-star, though. There were masks and his face was on clothes and little dolls. People loved him." She drank and shook her head. "I never met the guy, but I imagine he was living it up."

"What?" Tony asked, even though Carol hadn't, and pushed his again empty glass forward for a re-up. He frowned, thoughtfully. "Oh." Had he said that part about Strange out loud? Probably. Tony was going to blame not the liquor, but instead the fact that he worked on his own so much he was used to just saying what was on his mind to no one in particular. Yeah. That was a great excuse.

"You can keep bragging. Unless he shows up. Then maybe the rights will be revoked." He spread his fingers wide over the idea of it, like he didn't quite know what to say on the matter.

He leaned forward a little until he could rest his chin on his palm. "Depends. The Hulk might have been living it up, but Bruce --Banner -- he's not the sort for that. He's mild mannered. Feels more than a little bad about anything Big Green does. Makes for quite the dichotomy. Well. He eventually makes his way off that planet anyway, if our timelines are matching up. Maybe you'll get a go in a brawl some day, but I don't really recommend it."

Carol topped him off noting the bottle was starting to get sort of low. "Will do, then." She nodded about the bragging and heard him out about Bruce. Two persons in one body. Carol imagined it wasn't easy for the poor man, possibly experiencing everything and not getting a say in any of it.

"As far as I know he's always been big and green. That's sort of scary to think about, though." A sobering thought she didn't really welcome right then.

The mention of the Hulk possibly showing up caused her to smirk a little and glance back at Stark. "You don't think I can take him" She raised an eyebrow, realizing this Tony hadn't know other-her, either. She was curious about what he did know about her.

"He thinks so too," Tony pointed out. It probably should have been sobering, but frankly, he was used to it. Bruce was pretty used to it too. They'd drank about it, Tony'd teased about it and -- well. He always had liked poking potentially scary things with sharp sticks. It was how they'd become friends in the first place.

"I think it would depend on his mood," Tony corrected, tracking his finger around the rim of his mug. No, he didn't exactly know what Carol was capable of, but he could infer a lot from conversations with both her and Steve about it. She was a powerhouse heavy hitter with some sort of energy manipulation. And, he assumed, due to her youthful appearance but older age, she probably had some sort of healing factor like Steve did. If not more so.

It wasn't really the point. The point was there were very, very few things out that there could outmatch the Hulk. Assuming, of course, that the Hulk gave a shit enough to come out and play. Last he knew of it, Bruce had been having some pretty heavy performance anxiety. "But I also think you'd probably get along."

She would accept that answer for now. Taking a drink from her mug, she leaned on the bar a little and looked out over the patrons, considering what she might tell him. She hadn't exactly shown off since she'd gotten here. No reason. Flying around a little here, pulling up a few trees there, that was easy enough. But she would have to admit she was itching for a scrap. Sparring was Carol's favorite method of clearing her head. She just hadn't found anyone willing, yet. Maybe Steve, but he was busy with his gym.

"He seems like a good guy, and I like to think I'd get along with anyone who's not trying to kill me. Or pissing me off."

She noticed Tony was getting a bit of a glaze in his eye and she was starting to think about cutting him off. She was feeling it herself, which meant that he must have been pretty hammered by now (even a heavy drinker might struggle with consuming half a bottle of scotch in such a short period of time).

Then again, maybe not. "Here's to him showing up, then." She raised her cup in a toast then finished off the contents in one swig before refilling it again. "You might wanna slow down, Stark. Otherwise, someone's going to be carrying you home if you're not careful."

Most of them here -- or those who were Avengers at least -- were people who didn't sit still all that well. Even Tony was feeling the itch lately to get his suit on and to find somewhere where he could let loose a little. It was really a wonder that no one here had exploded and demanded a fight yet. Surely, it was coming. There was a 47% chance that Tony would be involved. Last time he'd done the math, anyway.

He blinked up at Carol and only offered a bemused sort of smile over her worry. "There'd have been a time when this wouldn't have even phased me," he said, which was practically an admission that yes, he was pretty sure he was phased now. "Don't worry too much," he said, waving his hand dismissively before standing and regarding the other bar patrons. "I'll mingle it off and have some carbs. I won't be napping on the pool table you don't have."
