WHO: Klaus Hargreeves and Sirius Black
WHAT: Another arrival
WHERE: Near the center of town
WHEN: April 1

So things were not ... looking all that great. Sure Five had a plan, but was it a plan that would work? That wasn't even something that Five could say, but what else was there? Stay where they were and just let it happen? Or try and change it? Okay yeah maybe Klaus would have chosen to stay if it was just him, but the thing was it wasn't just him. It hadn't been just him for years. So they did it.

Or maybe they'd died trying, it was hard to say, the line was a little blurry there.

"Daddy?" He sat up with a start, his hands empty when not long ago they had been anything but, part of him expected to find Reginald standing over him ready to continue their talk from earlier. But there was no one else around. There had been a lot of turbulence though, the world ending and all that.

"Five!" He shouted, looking around for his littlest big brother, and then his biggest little brother, "Luther!", finally "Diego! Allison?! Vanya?" His tone a little less sure and a little more seeking with each name he called out. He frowned.

"Well that's weird, have you seen any of them?" He turned to where Ben ought to have been, his constant companion through the best of times and the worst of times. Only where Ben ought to have been there was nothing but empty space. "Come on, you're not out here trying to blame me for all this, did you see what we just did? You should be jumping up and down with me right now! I don't care that the world was ending!" Maybe he sounded a little like a petulant child, but well that was sort of his brand.

"Come on, is this because I said I didn't want to spend time with you? That was practically two years ago. Ben! Where are you!" The where he was all seemed so much less important than where his family had gone, he could deal with the rest of them not being where he could see them but Ben - Ben was a part of him. And something was very very wrong.

Well. Sirius had been on his way to go peep out the doorways because he'd heard they were doing something weird today (as opposed to how weird they normally were, he guessed?) but had to pause on his way there because there was someone new standing there by the well and the main square.

New and loud. But like, in a talking to themselves sort of way, which Sirius got because he did it all the time, but maybe not so much in the way of whole conversations. It'd defeat the purpose of forcing other people to pay attention to him, if he had those kinds of conversations alone, after all.

Overall, the guy looked mostly harmless with a side of nearly groovy. Like he enjoyed Gary Numan and the B-52s, maybe. Still, anyone who talked to themselves quite so much required a touch of wariness when it came to introductions.

So of course, Sirius had none at all. "Brilliant pants you got there, mate. You new here?"

Okay well he wasn't alone, there was someone but it wasn't any one that he'd expected to see - well expected was a strange word, it was hard to really expect anything when you were a Hargreeve, but that was besides the point. Klaus looked over his shoulder and took in the young man for a moment, he had complimented his fashion choice though - which was less a choice and more just the way he rolled out into the world, but he'd take it.

"I guess that's all a matter of where here is. When exactly are we?" He asked, and paused actually taking stock of his surroundings. This was not just an earlier time that he'd landed himself in, it wasn't some version of home at an earlier point - unless it was like... much earlier. But then that made this guy a little out of time as well.

"You're cute, you haven't seen a ten year old running around here looking like he'd just as soon murder you as talk to you?" He really needed to find those other lunatics before they ditched him here and they created another end of the world event just because they couldn't get along.

"Maybe a guy about ye high," He said holding a hand up over his head, "Shoulder's like-" He held his arms out to either side as far as he could go. He could absolutely go on listing the rest of them, but he had a feeling that if they had made it they'd stick close to either Luther or Five, so they were his best bet.

"They call it Starklandia," Sirius said, tilting his head to the side like a slightly confused puppy -- not because he was actually confused, but instead curious. Because this guy, brilliant pants and all, was asking the right kind of questions. Not a lot of people tended to do that right away. "But it's mostly a joke, I think. It hasn't got a proper name, so we go with it. "When is a little more dodgy. I'm from '79, but my friends are from 1981 and 1982, and there's a few blokes from...2018?" He shrugged, like it didn't matter. Or maybe just like he didn't care.

"I am cute," he agreed, because when a guy was right he was right, and Sirius wasn't going to disagree. "Haven't seen any kids around though, not really." Except that little Peter kid, maybe, but Sirius hadn't so much met him as been in the same vicinity as him. But he wasn't ten and he didn't seem all that murdery. "And no, not really. I met a bloke, looks a bit like he's corn chip shaped." He drew a triangle with both hands, and then rose his eyebrows high. "Who're you then?"

"Starklandia," He repeated the name, parsing it over in his mind - he was pretty sure such a place didn't exist, but he'd been pretty sure that Five had been the only one able to travel in time and he'd been wrong about that, so he wasn't about to go and argue the point. If he wanted it to be Starklandia then sure, that's what it was. It was when they started getting into the when of it all that Klaus became a little more interested, pursing his lips as several dates were listed off, the 70s, the 80s, and right up to the time that he'd come from and well wasn't that interesting.

"So are you all with the agency?" He asked, because of course there was an agency, Hazel and Cha-Cha didn't just get a time travel box from no where and come along to kill their family, they'd gotten orders and orders came from somewhere, and a town full of people who had seemingly time traveled - sounded like the work of an agency to him. Of course all of this was just wild speculation on his part, but he could be right sometimes, he didn't have to have Ben looking over his shoulder to know things.

Speaking of Ben, Klaus looked around for him as well. His disappearance was the most worrying. Klaus had been away from the other family members before, he'd been on his own, but Ben had always well, been there. And now suddenly he was alone and Klaus felt it like a chill going down his spine.

Corn chip shaped, that was definitely not Luther - he was much more brick shaped than any sort of snack food you'd want to sink your teeth into. Not even Diego fit that description. "I'm Number Four," He pause a moment looking over his new companion before he held out his hand, palm down not unlike the way one would when asking for a kiss, "but I prefer Klaus." He'd keep the Hargreeves bit to himself for the moment, Four was enough to give away the Academy ties to someone who knew probably.

"Agency?" Sirius questioned, but didn't seem particularly interested in an answer because he was shaking his head no in the hard negative because the only group he cared to be in was the Marauders and an agency had the vibe of dress clothes and being on time for things, neither of which were things that he was very interested in. Nope. No Agency for him.

He realized he wasn't being greatly helpful to this guy though, who was clearly new and clearly lost. And missing people. Which was a pretty terrible feeling, he knew. "Where are you from, then?"

It was a good question he figured. Maybe they'd be halfway to figuring something out then. Probably not, but it was worth a go. "And have some self esteem. Number four's barely good. Aim higher, Klaus." Sounded German, but Klaus himself didn't, so maybe not. "Sirius. Wotcher?"

Okay maybe he'd been a little hasty with the whole agency line, but you know he had to take a wild stab in the dark every now and then. He had to be right occasionally, part of him wanted to look over where Ben ought to be, he'd be rolling his eyes no doubt. Klaus hadn't really realized just how often he and Ben interacted, how much he'd depended upon him being there, even just to sass at. But suddenly without him it was all he could think of.

"No agency then. Probably for the best, we wouldn't be on good terms if that was the case." Better for all of them that there was no assassins here, at least not immediately, he'd just run from the end of the world the last thing he needed was more people out to kill him. "Toronto, 2018."

Klaus cocked an eyebrow at the kid and grinned, "Trust me I tried to claim number one a long time ago, Luther wasn't having it, and dad - well he assigned the numbers, and there was no arguing with good old daddy dearest." He shrugged, the order had become less important to him as he'd gotten older, though the sting of it was still there, maybe because Luther had clung to the numbers far longer than any of the rest of them, still trying to lead them as their number one even now. Well where was he now?

"Wotcher. I like that. So we've established the varying timelines and that you haven't seen my brothers, and we're in a town with a made up name. And I guess something went wrong with Fives plan to zap us all to the past because I've ended up here, maybe they're just .... a little lost." He said feeling a little helpless and lost about all of this. Together with his siblings they'd just ended the world so you know it was a little bit strange to suddenly find himself alone, but maybe that was better? Maybe they couldn't end the world if they weren't together. That was something to consider at least.

"The future doesn't seem great," Sirius pointed out a little wryly, because everyone who came from 20whatever seemed pretty wildly messed up. Not that he had any room to talk because only two years from when he was from, it seemed like everything went to shit and never really came back from that. And how could it? A world without James Potter probably wasn't any kind of world at all.

"Your dad gave you numbers for names?" Sirius asked, a little wary, because -- that sounded even worse than his parents. Mind, his family traded the same five names or so down multiple generations so it was quite possibly the same damned thing. He wasn't sure though. Either way, it didn't sound great, and Sirius got that. And there was nothing better than two perfect strangers bonding over bad parenting.

"S'possible they'll show up? Later? Sometimes that happens. Different times, or different pacing or whatever. Wouldn't worry about it too much, mate. Howzabout in the mean time we find you a flat? And a telly-phone. Those're brilliant."

"It's not really, I don't recommend it." Klaus paused and considered for a moment, "The past wasn't that great either though. Maybe it's just living that isn't all that great." He suggested with a shrug, he'd tried being dead, though only briefly - it had been okay, not the best thing ever of course, but it had been something. Dad had been there so maybe being dead wasn't that great. But if everyone was dead then they could stop trying to save the world so that was also something to consider, all things for another time, whenever the rest of his charming siblings decided to show up.

"There were seven of us, though I think even one might have been too taxing for him to bother with a real name. So yes, we all were given numbers for names." And they all got one day of the week one on one with daddy, Klaus would have skipped his each and every week if possible, but that had never been an option either.

He nodded, looking around, feeling like a part of him was gone each time he looked to confirm something with Ben and found him not there. It was a potential future he'd never considered, not since Ben had latched on to him all those years ago, they were tied and now to be on his own, well and truly on his own here in this place - Klaus wasn't sure he had the stamina to make it through without falling back on bad habits. "Oh yes, I'll take one of each." He looped his arm through Sirius', "Lead the way then to these phones and flats, it looks like I'm going to be here until the rest of the family shows up."

"Better than the opposite," Sirius said, and had to believe that, particularly now that he knew he'd lost people close to him. He didn't want anyone else to die or be dead, even some stranger with great pants and decent hair.

"At least he didn't name you all directly after him?" Sirius suggested, because that was the kind of nonsense he'd had to deal with. Not that it mattered much now, he'd taken all of himself and made it his own what felt like forever ago now. He rather suspected maybe Klaus had too, unless his dad also dressed like he was in a rock band. Probably not.

"Hah, you're fun," Sirius decided, adding a little pep to his step, because no new person deserved any of his sad. This place was dodgy enough. "I can tell you what houses have people. Then you can just pick?" He pointed at several of the colorful houses, blue, red, another blue. "There's not all that many of us."

"I was only dead a short while, but it didn't seem all that much better than living - so maybe you're right about that." Klaus agreed, because dad had been there and honestly if that was what being dead meant he didn't want to have anything to do with it, no matter how bad actually living got.

The very idea made Klaus snort, "Oh god, the world would not be able to handle seven, well eight plus dad, Reginald Hargreeves." He shook his head at the mental image of it all, Luther would have loved it. "We were bad enough just being numbered, I can't imagine the havoc we'd have wrought if we'd been anything else." No it was better the way they had been, and they got to pick their own names down the line, and Klaus was.... well it was weird maybe, but then so was Klaus, and it was his, and that was the most important thing at the end of the day.

With Sirius leading the way Klaus listened as he explained the lay of the land, telling him he could just have his pick of any of the places that weren't currently occupied, he liked that very much, anytime he got to choose for himself Klaus was all in. "It does seem a little quiet around here." He agreed, "Do you guys have any sort of entertainment here? Or are we going to have to create our own?"

"There probably shouldn't even have been one, given how shite a name it is," Sirius observed, not at all shy about giving his opinion on what or what not a good name was. Reginald sounded stuffy. He'd likely have been a Slytherin, he figured. He sounded like the sort.

"Oh, there's plenty of entertainment," Sirius said, patting Klaus' hand consolingly, because it wasn't much of a truth at all. "I mean, there's the house of doors if you feel like popping into another dimension and just seeing what the fuck that's all about. Sometimes it's good, sometimes everything tries murdering you. Just depends. Otherwise now and again we all camp out on the square and wait for the really sexy corn chip to turn up with his shirt off. Now'n again there're little public barbecues?"

"You are absolutely right about that, god could you even imagine - a world without dear old Reginald Hargreeves." Klaus said it with wonder in his tone, it wasn't like he'd needed his dear old dad to come into the world, in fact he might just have been better off without him, they all might have been. But that was just the kind of wishful thinking that came of finally being free of the old man.

If Sirius was right about the entertainment Klaus hadn't seen much evidence of it yet, but then he started explaining a house with doors to another dimension, now that was interesting, he might just have to pop in and see what he found there. It sounded like exactly the sort of thing Five would be into. "So just a typical Tuesday through there occasionally then," He nodded that made sense every dimension had to have a Tuesday after all. "A sexy corn chip? Oh now that sounds like exactly the kind of entertainment I need." It'd just be a shame if it was the sort of thing that only happened occasionally rather than on a more routine basis. "How often is this good looking snack around?"

"I could say the same about Orion and Walburga Black," Sirius said, but it was with a lopsided kind of smile, like the two of them were in a secret club now. Bad parents! Those were a thing! But also they were obviously both very groovy and great people even with negative influences, so it was fine. Why dwell on things that weren't any kind of fun at all?

"Sure. If that's what happens on Tuesdays." Well, it was now. And there was no telling what day it was behind some of those doors. "It's sorta fun. Sometimes. Not always." He contemplated how often the hot guy he'd seen strolled around without a shirt, and then wondered why he'd never gone and said hello, because it rather seemed like something he ought to do -- not just because he was a snack but because Sirius tended to like talking to everyone. "It's often enough to notice it," he decided. "He likes doing laundry in the river."

Klaus pulled a face when he heard the names of the parents that had brought Sirius into the world, honestly he'd gotten off easy himself. "Walburga, that's really a battle axe of a name." He could just imagine the sort of woman who had a name like that. It sounded like they'd both managed to get themselves away from parents who had no idea what to do with names or children and were much better off for it.

"Sometimes Wednesdays," Klaus shrugged, what was normal was hard to say after the kind of life he'd had and it seemed like this place was just more of the same so he could handle staying here while he had to, waiting on the rest of his siblings to get their act together and show up so they could get back to the business of unfucking up the earth. For now though he'd focus on this little bit of good looking and the other attractive people who seemed to be part of the gathered groups. "Laundry in the river, that does sound like the sort of activity that needs a couple of spectators." Klaus decided, "I'll have to try and catch him out there some time then."

"And what do you do when you're not looking at shirtless and good looking men in the river?" He asked, because yes Klaus would make sure to see this snack, but why should he ignore this good looking man before him right now?

"The screaming alone," Sirius said in agreement, because Klaus had no idea really. Not even one. But he appreciated the face that he got over the reveal of only names, so that was something. He shrugged, because whatever. This place was removed from any kind of worry in terms of his past. It was only his future he was concerned over.

"I like Fridays. Long weekends. Good for exploring. Plenty of that here, and all." He didn't know much about doing laundry in a muggle way, but he tended to agree it was kind of the Snack to do it where people could watch. "Early mornings if you can manage," he pointed out, because some people liked mornings and not sleeping in and that was weird, but sometimes Sirius happened to be awake at the same time too and that was when the magic happened.

"Me? Oh. I like exploring with my mates. Me and my -- Remus. We've been checking the Doors out. I've got a bike I take around too. S'pretty groovy. You should come with some time!"

Screaming was something Klaus knew a little bit about, maybe not from Reginald but he knew enough of it from other places and well he could sympathize, any place that was full of that was best avoided as soon as possible. "None that here though, by the looks of it." It seemed they both were going to be free of that for now - Klaus just hoped it lasted.

"Every day could be Friday if you treat it right," Once he'd left the Academy he hadn't had much use for days of the week, they were for people bound too closely to time and structure and he'd wanted nothing of that in his life and so he'd left that behind just as much as he'd left everything else. Though he pulled a face when Sirius told him he'd need to get up early to catch the snack doing his laundry, he'd have to stay up rather than try and find his way out of bed at that hour, it would never happen otherwise. But he'd make it happen, every snack deserved to be seen from time to time.

"Your Remus." He repeated with a wide grin on his face, all the better for explorations to have someone you could call your own along with you. "I bet it's all pretty groovy, that sounds perfect, you and your Remus can show me how it all works sometime."

No, there was no screaming. Not unless you counted the people just doing it for the sake of it because boredom was settling in. James'd probably have a lot of screaming to do sooner or later. Sirius might join in too. But that was a different. It was fun screamy instead of yelly screamy.

"Like a summer holiday," Sirius mused, clearly liking the sound of that. He'd been on his before he'd ended up here, and it'd been good -- going out to hang with his best mates, visiting Muggle towns to get drunk and do karaoke, try weird foods and hit on anyone who looked good enough to notice. It wasn't the same here, but it was different now. He could deal with different.

"My Remus," Sirius agreed easily, even though it'd been something of a mistake, the way he'd said it the first time. But now that it was out there and out loud it seemed well right enough. "We'll have a good time," he promised and then stopped in front the row of houses. "Most're free minus those two there, and the end one there--" He pointed at a few.

"Never had one of those," Not really - but Klaus pretty much lived his whole life as a holiday so it wasn't all that important, but he imagined that his frame of mind was exactly like that, a summer holiday every day. Just enjoying himself and living each day like it might just be his last. That sounded like a summer vacation in his estimation. "Sounds right though, summer holidays."

Klaus never did mind someone calm and confidently taking up a little bit of ownership over someone, he certainly would have done the same if Dave was here, but that was not a thought that he was going to let himself indulge in. No instead he just grinned as Sirius agreed that yes Remus was his and that they could have a good time trying out the door sometime. "I'm sure we will." He agreed letting his eyes roam over Sirius just briefly.

He looked as the empty houses were pointed out nodding, "And which one are you in?"

"It'll be summer soon," Sirius observed, although he wasn't really all that sure how seasons passed in this place, if he was being honest. Still, he wanted Klaus to know he could very well have a summer holiday if he wanted to; it'd be soon enough. Even if it felt like something for a late start for a man who was clearly older than Sirius was.

"Brilliant," Sirius said, preening somewhat because he wasn't lacking in observational skills and was well aware of the look that he was getting just now. Sirius was fairly vain, and more than liked it when other people realized his good looks. Even if he was - er. If there was something with Remus. Enough to claim some ownership over, even if Sirius hadn't quite done anything else about it yet.

"I'm right there. Blue house. Can't miss it, so no need to be a stranger."

"That'll make this a first then," He decided, a vacation while he waited on the family to catch up - that really was life wasn't it? Waiting for his siblings to catch up and see what he did, whether it was the abuse of their father, or the pointlessness of their supposed mission, or Ben, and now this. He could use a vacation though, he'd had a rough couple of years recently.

If more people in this little town were like Sirius Klaus didn't imagine it would be much of a hardship for him to remain here for the time being. And if he was being honest he might have preferred this, he'd just been through kind of a lot, a chance to breathe and appreciate some good looking people was something he wanted to indulge in."

Following Sirius' finger Klaus took note of which house was his, "Not too far at all then," He agreed, "Guess I'd better pick my own then and see what other sort of trouble I can find around here."
