Who: Bill and Dan
What: Kissin' maybe
When: February 14th after the party
Where: Outside the library

It had been a night. With whatever love magic was in there, or lust magic was it? Magic of some kind that had people behaving every which way. He'd seen Dan make an exit earlier than most and rather than linger and watch the kissing booth fallout he slipped out after him.

Firewhiskey still lingered in the back of his throat but his plans on getting shitfaced hadn't exactly come to fruition, still the alcohol gave him a false sense of warmth. Even still he slid his hands into his pockets against the chill. It had been warm inside and outside sobered him up some as he walked a little faster to catch up.

"What no Valentine for me, huh?" Bill called after him as Dan was about to head into the library. "I'm wounded, after I went to all this trouble," he flicked his wand easily conjuring a long stemmed red rose, "of getting you this."

Bill was being good, Dan on the other hand seemed ready to test the limits. But they were his limits to test, so Bill wasn't going to be mad about it. Even if a well placed thigh at a well placed height attached to a well handsome man was enough to send a ripple through him and his core tensed to avoid rutting forward against that lovely thigh.

He stroked Dan's jaw with his thumb, the lines in the corner of his eye, the bottom of his lip as he hummed in agreement. "You can have whatever you want," Bill said with a little smile. Bill had come on a little strong, more flirting to give Dan something else to think about besides this strange scary place and the people there, but the attraction was real and he was more than he'd expected.

"I'm not in a hurry, love," because really what was there to hurry about? Although he was being very good Bill did roll his hips a little because he was human and Dan felt wonderful. "Well much of one."

He chuckled throatily, hands slipping around and splaying on Bill's back for a moment. Dan rested his forehead against the other man's, trying to calm himself down - easier said than done, but he was doing his best here. "Thank you," he said sincerely, and he meant that.

It was years of celibacy, and fear, and then being shoved back into emotions and feelings and not remembering how they worked or what to do (a fucking frog in boiling hot water, he just jumped right out) and he was probably doing a lot wrong, but if Bill was willing to be patient with him and let him figure some things out, then - maybe that would lead to something good. If he told him to fuck off, then Dan would understand that too - he was, after all, used to being alone.

Bill closed his eyes for a moment, breathing out slowly as their heads rested together. At least the fear had gone, Dan seemed well mixed up sure but not outright panicking anymore. "You don't have to thank me for doing the minimum required not to be an arse," Bill said with a little smile.

He pulled back then, to get Dan's knee out from between his legs and then smoothed his shirt back into place so it didn't look like Bill's hand had just been up there. Bill retrieved the rose he'd given him earlier and handed it back to him no worse for wear having been tossed aside for a heated moment. "Maybe if you press it between some pages it might keep," Bill suggested.

Dan took the rose again, a fond glance at the petals. He'd definitely want to keep it - preserve it between the pages of some heavy tome and not toss it away, because it was technically the first flower he'd gotten...well, ever. "I will," he promised, then shifted his gaze up at Bill, through those dirty blonde lashes.

"Um - I'll see you again soon?" he uttered quietly, hoping that he would. "Maybe I can...come see your books. If you wouldn't mind a visitor."

"I'm not hard to find, at home, in the garden, around somewhere," Bill assured him with an easy shrug. It wasn't a commitment, best it wasn't, no hurt feelings that way. Not that Bill usually let the chance of getting feelings involved be a possibility, it was messy and he didn't care for messy.

He and Klaus had a good thing, they were friends and Bill kept him sober as best as someone could for another person and they had benefits but he knew what that was. Two people who liked sex and liked each other and no one would get hurt, it was safe and Bill was really good at safe.

Bill took Dan's free hand and brought it up to kiss his knuckles before he backed away and turned toward his own house. "Happy Valentines," he called back to him before he turned the corner.
