WHO: Everyone who wants to drown their sorrows or something
WHAT: Getting drunk about it
WHERE: The Spider-Web
WHEN: Today

Sure waking up to find that he was for some reason attached to a wizard nearly half his age hadn't been on the top ten best ways to start his day list that Peter most certainly did not keep somewhere in the back of his mind, it hadn't actually been on the top ten worst ways to start his day list either. So that was something to consider. Not that it made it any easier to deal with knowing that for some strange reason he found himself tethered to Sirius, things had gotten very strange very quickly, and considering his history with strange well - Peter thought he was handling the whole thing admirably.

Tonight though, well they were at the bar, because even tied together like this people still needed to eat and Peter wasn't about to just throw all of this away because he was mildly inconvenienced. So he was doing his best, passing out drinks and making food and hoping that at the very least, they could all just spend a little time there that evening and pretend like things weren't entirely fucked.

"Nothing like a couple of drinks and something good to eat to at least help make you feel like things aren't quite as bad as they might seem." And certainly he'd lucked out he thought, but like John had said, things could always be worse.

Since his rather rude awakening, Stan felt like his days were somewhere between begging to slow down and making some kind of exercise in compromise. It wasn't the quiet and sort of orderly way he liked to live his life, and it wasn't quite as over the top and grenade filled as he'd worried it might be, but it was something in between. And for now it was okay, in the long run? Well Stan wasn't quite so sure of that.

But for tonight he and Octane both agreed that drinks were necessary, and he found Richie with a drink and his own tall and too good looking shadow not far behind him.

"Looks like you managed to get out on good behavior tonight," He said with a chuckle after he'd gotten a drink for himself and a promise out of Octane not to go running across the bar and yank him out of his seat while he talked with Richie for a little bit.

"Or was it his good behavior that got you out?" He asked.

Compromise really was the name of the game, for everyone involved in this weird, weird week of Starklandia what the fuckery. Even Richie and Steve had had to have talks, navigating how their day was going to do, when they ought to be doing what and how. And where. It was -- tiring, frankly. And a little rough, because while Steve wanted to get away from things by running and couldn't, Richie was the sort to fidget and move and pace a lot and he -- hadn't been able to do a lot of that.

He'd gotten really fucking good at vibrating his leg while sitting in place though, and that was going to be an impossible habit to break now.

"It's never my good behavior," Richie said with a grin, leaning over to get Stan into a tight hug. "But god, getting out feels pretty fucking great, doesn't it?" Somewhere that was neutral ground for just about everyone.

"Don't know why I even bothered asking," He said with a huff of amusement, but was only too happy to lean into the hug that Richie offered him, grabbing him in a tight squeeze in return. How he'd managed to go so many years without this really did feel almost impossible to believe, how had he ever felt whole without his Losers around him? How did he not feel the wide and horrible gap inside him where they were meant to be, that was still not quite full without the others who were meant to be there to complete their merry band.

"Can't argue with you about how good it feels though," He agreed, "Never thought I'd consider going out like this to be a sedate evening by comparison, and yet here we are." He shook his head.

Octane was.... a lot, and that was putting it mildly in Stan's opinion, politely and mildly. He wasn't bad really, just a lot more than Stan was really up for on most days. But he was surviving and that was the important part in all of this. "So how are you coping? You haven't ended up getting another eyeful have you?"

"I'm not sure either," Richie agreed with a lopsided smile -- rubbing his nose a little obnoxiously into the curve of Stan's neck. Eddie wasn't the only one he was missing, right now, even if it was who he was complaining about most loudly. But Richie felt a little sadder every day he wasn't next to all of his Losers. They'd been apart for too long before this, and now Richie couldn't fathom even an entire day apart from Stan and Beverly, either. He didn't want to have to.

"We should get you out more, after all this," he mused, because just hanging out at a bar was pretty chill. So long as they pretended they weren't stuck to someone else at the same time.

Richie glanced over his shoulder at Steve, who was currently making the most soppy faces with the Mayor that Richie had ever seen. It was probably the kind of faces he made at Eddie. Eddie, who was notably absent. "It's okay," he said after a moment. "No more eyefuls. I've been hanging out in the gym a lot. And watching Steve made disapproving faces at Bill for existing." Poor Bill.

In truth, Stan missed it too, maybe it was obnoxious or something else, but whatever it was it was something that he needed with his Losers. This kind of closeness and being denied that, Richie off with someone who was decidedly not a Loser, and Bev caught up with some strange guy, and Eddie out too he was without all of them and he hated it. More than he had known until right in this very moment.

So he looped an arm around Richie because if they were gonna lean into one another he was going to hold on to him to drag it out a little while longer and knocked his head against Richie's lightly as they talked. "Maybe so," He agreed, "Things were getting a little quite for a minute there." Not that Stan ever minded the quiet, but well - maybe he needed to look at things differently here, this was a second chance after all. He should be making more of it.

He huffed softly shaking his head while Richie told him about he'd been spending his days, "Well that doesn't sound too terrible, you learning anything new after putting in all that gym time?" He teased, "Probably a better use of your time than what I've been doing, which feels a little like a constant stream of yelling no again and again after he thinks up some new crazy idea." He said with a shake of his head. Octane wasn't bad, not really he knew - he was just .... over eager? Over-excitable? Overly-caffeinated? He was a lot more than Stan was used to at the very least and he was doing his best to try and not to end up getting himself killed in the midst of all of this.

With the Losers, Richie had always been a little clingy -- he'd forever been leaning on one of them, his arm looped conspiratorially around someone's shoulders or half in their space however possible. It was weird he'd forgotten it, had turned into someone who wasn't like that at all. He'd had his reasons, he supposed. Secrets and repressed bullshit. But he was glad now that he remembered and that all the present Losers not only tolerated it, but seemed to feel similarly.

"Yelling no again and again, huh?" Richie asked with a laugh, "sounds a little par for the course for you, Stanley. Maybe you didn't yell, but there's always been some firm disapproval in your tone." Because Richie had been that kid. Over eager, over excitable. He still kind of was. Maybe not on this dude's level though. "I learned that when you work out, you feel it in places you didn't know existed the next day," he said wryly.

He frowned while Richie laughed, sure maybe there had been some, maybe a lot, of disapproval in his tone when they'd been younger, but to be fair they had been idiots and they needed at least one of them to be the voice of disapproval from time to time if only for the sake of their continued survival. "Okay, but like, none of you ever suggested things like throwing hand grenades or dragging each other around on trampolines when we were kids either." He defended himself because this current situation was different to anything that had happened to them when they'd been young.

"Maybe you wanna keep it up, I bet you'll stop feeling those places so much if you do a bit more." It was his time to chuckle then, grinning while Richie told him some of how he'd been spending his days lately. "Or try and get the Captain into something a little less active, yoga?" He suggested helpfully, "Or maybe meditation?"

"No, I guess we never had a hand grenade phase," Richie said, a little on the unnerved side because yeah, that was pretty fucked actually. "We did have a rock war though, I'll have you remember." Richie had been the only one who'd taken a rock to the head that day, but it'd been worth it. And at the time, Stan certainly hadn't been telling them no. He'd joined in, same as the rest of the Losers.

"I think this is a little less active for Steve," Richie said with a grimace, although it was mostly fond. "I might keep it up though. It's kinda, you know. Maybe a good sore, I guess." And it was maybe a nice way to get some energy out, considering how small this place was. "Can you imagine?" He asked, wonder in his tone, "Me? Meditating? The world would explode. Or maybe just my head." Sitting still, being quiet and not thinking about anything was not something Richie would ever be able to manage.

"We did have a rock war," Stan agreed, and that was the thing about the Losers wasn't it? Because on his own well Stan was ordered and evenly paced and he went slowly at things and considered his options. With them he didn't do that so much, oh sure he wasn't quite ready to run head first into danger the way some of the rest of them did but he didn't sit back and wait all the time either, he joined them in rock fights and went into horrible haunted houses and defended his friends. He needed to get some of that back again.

He winced when Richie grimaced and he thought he could understand that, he had a feeling Octane was running on less than full strength over the last few days but it didn't stop Stan from feeling exhausted at the end of each day either. "Might not be all bad, sometimes it's nice to feel that good kind of sore." He agreed, he'd been familiar with that from time to time, not that Stan was the work out all the time kind of guy, but he'd done it enough to know that feeling. "Don't explode, we'll all be inconsolable if you do." He warned, "Try some of that Jane Fonda jazzercise or something instead."

"And we'd do it again, if we had to," Richie said, reaching for his drink. Not his first of the night and it definitely wouldn't be his last. If he had to be stuck with someone like Steve, the advantage was that he had someone who would definitely be able to carry him home later on. Plus, well, he'd been sitting here for a while and Eddie hadn't shown up yet. So. Down the hatch?

"Stan," he said, pressing his face into his friend's shoulder, because he couldn't help himself, the idea was just ridiculous. And therefore hilarious. "The only way I ever do that is if it's next to you. Do jazzercise with me, Stanley. You've gotta."

"Yeah," Stan agreed again, "We would." He didn't want to end up in a position where rock fight was his only option, but if it came down to it, for the Losers he absolutely would do it again. Where Richie seemed to be a little more loose with his alcohol consumption, Stan was taking his time, the last thing he wanted was to find himself drunk around Octane who knew what he'd end up being dragged into in a state like that.

Stan grinned reaching up and ruffling Richie's hair when he leaned into his shoulder again. "Gotta buy me a few more drinks before I'll agree to that one, Richie." He teased, but really the idea of it alone was nearly enough to make him agree. Because it would be so fucking ridiculous, but in the kind of hilarious way that Stan only ever let himself get around the other Losers and he'd missed that. He had a lot of time to make up for.

Well, that was just them, wasn't it? Richie was fast and loose and ready to make mistakes, and Stan was well thought out, thinking ahead. Sometimes really really lamented the fact that none of them had known each other for their more formative college years. It would have been such fun. They would have gotten into such trouble.

"I'll buy you as many drinks as you want, Stanley," Richie said, already raising his hand to signal more drinks. It was nice when they just floated on over to you. Magic was fucking crazy, and Richie was almost into it here. "I'll teach you the dirty, dirty art of double fisting, yet."

Stan was entirely certain that if things had gone differently, if he had been able to grow up really grow up with the other Losers his life would have been something else entirely. But it had been what it was, they'd all missed out, but they were getting a little bit of what they'd missed out on here now and that was going to have to be enough.

Like this, RIchie getting them more drinks because he'd had a stupid idea and then had the stupider idea of telling Richie about it and now they were going to do this it seemed. So yeah, things were good, better than good really, Stan wouldn't say he was glad things had gone the way they had because well - it had all been shit really, but he was glad that at the end of it all he was here with them. "God, double fisting that just sounds like something designed to give me a headache."

"It's only because I love you that I'm not turning this into a sex joke, Stanley," Richie said, grabbing their drinks out of the air and pushing one directly into Stan's hand. Look how helpful he was!

"But that's fine. You're doing it wrong if you don't regret a little bit the next day, you know? Just give Octavio a coloring book and then sleep in tomorrow. You deserve it."
