Who: Losers et al. But basically anyone can show up, lbh
What: Partying in Tozier Style
Where: The Losers House
When: Dec 25th

The halls were decked. Balls were out. Whatever. Richie had tried decorating to his best ability, which had been slightly hampered by his lack of know how — years and years as a live-alone bachelor didn’t tend to make a guy decorate his house much — and by the lack of a general store in which to get decorations. Still, those doors had come in clutch, for the most part. There was a little fake tree (and some presents underneath, even!) and plenty of strung up lights and Richie had made sure to put mistletoe in literally every doorway because he was a chaotic monster on a goddamned mission, okay.

As promised there were drinks. And snacks. And chicken tenders (well made by Beverly) and Mac and Cheese (not quite as well made by Richie, but he’d tried and therefore no one could criticize him) and some other holiday stuff.

But the dance party was the appeal here and Richie, with his absurd amount of records and even more now that he’d gotten some for Christmas, was fucking ready with a stack curated specifically for the holiday. And, of course, with Stan in mind too.

Christmas in Hollis was blaring, he somehow had two drinks in hand, and Rich was fucking ready for whatever the night was going to bring.

"Chag Sameach," Stan replied dryly as Richie just grinned at him like that, really it was a good night, you didn't grow up in America and not get exposed to Christmas after all, and after he'd walked out on his own Bar Mitzvah he hadn't followed his own faith's traditions too closely either. He wasn't having a bad time was the point.

"No?" He asked frowning, because well, cheese dicks were probably the sort of thing one learned to appreciate, but beyond that it seemed like things were pretty well done. "I don't know, I think you could make a real go of it if you wanted." He grinned all the same, whether or not Richie believed him was besides the point. He just had the strength of his convictions and in this case it was that Richie could definitely plan a party if he wanted to. Who cared if it was a good party or not?

"Well, don't say I never tried to help you," He shrugged it off, "It's not a bad Christmas though, is it?"

"Maybe," Richie hedged, unsure. "It's not like comedy's doing me much good here anyway. Then again, neither would be party planning." Richie wasn't really sure what he ought to be doing in this place, but since there was no money, he wasn't really all that sure it mattered anyway. It was all just stuff to pass the time and feel normal again. It was also something that Richie wasn't going to worry about right now.

"I'll think about it," he decided because -- whatever. Maybe he would. "Have another cheese dick in the mean time. And a drink." Speaking of, he topped his up while he was around the liquor and then leaned against the counter. "It is pretty good. It feels festive. And we're all together." It had been something he'd been worried about before.

"Suppose we're both in the market for a new job these days." He admitted, because well - it wasn't like accounting was doing him any good here. There didn't seem to be much call for that sort of thing in a place that didn't actually use money - so Stan was going to have to figure something else out, less of a job and more of just a way to pass the time, it was well and good to spend his days with his friends now, but in time he'd want more, he was certain of that much.

"I don't know," Stan wavered when Richie offered him another cheese dick, "I mean how many of those can a man have before you have to worry?" He asked shaking his head, but at the very least he could handle another drink, it was a party right? And sometimes that was just necessary. And those cheese dicks made it necessary as far as he was concerned.

"Yeah," He agreed nodding though, because it was pretty good, festive even, and they were all together, maybe not all of them, but the four of them could be enough, for now. "It's been a long time since we've managed that." Decades, so having the chance here? That wasn't something to sniff at.

They'd all want more eventually. While the shine of being with his best friends wasn't really going to wear off, that didn't mean there weren't more hours in the day than any of them really knew what to do with. Richie was used to traveling, to spending a good portion of his days on the move and the other portion practicing, getting nervous, being rewarded with attention for a job well done, being invited to after parties for just about everything. Coveting his days off with an earned laziness, listening to records and playing video games and just wandering around town to find interesting things.

Richie hadn't really realized he'd been lonely most the time, but he'd kept pretty busy. Here, it was like the direct opposite of that.

"Listen, I don't know about your bathroom habits or how plugged up you do or don't get. How many Cheesy Dicks you can handle is solely up to you, my best Stan."

He tapped his fingers against the counter top, considering. "Too fucking long," he agreed. "And never again. Have a shot with me, Stan."
