Who: Octavio Silva and Beverly Marsh.
What: A literal run in.
Where: Doors into mall.
When: Tuesday morning.
Rating: TBD.

You see, for most people, this place would be jarring. This place would be a reminder they were stuck or a prison. Octane, well he just didn't care. Which also wasn't true. He cared in the sense that he wanted to go back home, but what was the purpose of any experience if you didn't just roll with the punches. Of all the places he could have ended up, this wasn't that terrible. The town, Starklandia, had great things all and all. Generally good people, even if they bickered and fought with each other. Electricity and heat. People who were fun, and most of all - brand new experiences and adventures.

Which, Octane was sending himself on right this moment.

Since his trip through the doors with that drink of water, Klaus, Octane's wardrobe had expanded nicely. Of course, pants were not a major thing he was overly worried about. Not with the metal legs of his, but he still had to cover his torso. It was something about exposed chest only covered by a tactical vest that screamed not dinner attire appropriate. So now he had shirts, and sweatshirts, and more shirts. He had shirts for days. Dressed casually and thinking of those casual day shirts he had, Octavio was really not watching what he was doing as he ran through town and right into the house that held the mystical doors that led to different dimensions.

Now, when it came to running as fast he did, you couldn't stop quickly. This became an issue quite suddenly as he came barreling into a woman who had just opened a door. The impact probably more shocking, but the problem was they were now falling over. Options were things that people had in this situation, but not Octane. Sure he played in murder games, but didn't mean he would let chivalry die at his hand. With a shift, so that the woman had a soft impact - Octane position himself to take more of the brunt of their fall, while he as politely as possible guided them. Once on the cold metal floor, he sighed. It went better than expected. "Gracias a dios que estarás bien." Octane muttered helping the woman and himself back to their feet.

"My apologies." Octane offered his apology. "I didn't hurt you to terribly?" Octane asked as he looked her up and down, but on the up glance catching a port window with an incredible view of space. "DIOS MIO! Look at that view!" Octane now focused on the stars and cold vacuum of space. It was basically home, if you were traveled through space as much as he did. Looking back to the woman he wiped his hand on his shorts covering the part of legs that were still human, and offered it to the woman.

"Since we had an abrupt meeting, I'm Octavio Silva." He offered a bright boyish smile. "Most call me Octane."

"Beverly." Repeated taking her name to memory. It was simple enough to remember, and luckily most people here just went by one name. Back home, with the games having to remember not only a name, but a showname also. It got to be a lot after awhile. Except Pathfinder. It was just Pathfinder for that robot combatant. Regardless, of any of that, he had to rip his attention to where they were exactly other than in the middle of space.

"If I had a guess, I would say we are on a space station of some sort." Octane stated as he gesture to the vast space beyond the windows that looked out. Bringing himself back down from his excitement he looked about the area and it was bustling about with people. Of greens, blues, and pale complexions such as the pair of them.

But everyone had bags of different labels. Was this a.. "OH!" Turning to Beverly, Octane nudged her. "This is perfect!" Pointing towards a pair of doors. "We're in a mall!" Now this was exciting. Since receiving a strange letter for Secret Santa, he had to find gifts for that person he never met and get them something fun. Side stepping, Octane shifted himself to step out of the way of a hulking green alien. "Oi." He watched the monstrosity of a humanoid walk by. "Uh, maybe we should stick together so we stay out of trouble. Hm?" Octavio glanced to Beverly with a shrug.

"Space?"

That was a little difficult to comprehend - because Beverly had obviously never been before, could only imagine the diamonds of a thousand moons or supernovas or galaxies or dense air. She had nothing to compare it to, but given the look of everything. "I guess you're right - oh, okay," that was her hopping aside so the large verdant gentleman could get past. God, she must stick out like a sore thumb here.

Regardless, the idea of browsing some kind of shopping mall, many spinning planets away, that just called to the more thrill-seeking side of her - and she wasn't about to pass up the opportunity. "Yeah, let's stick together," she agreed with a nod. "We could get some shopping in, at least?" She too had to find a Secret Santa present - and certainly anything from deep space mall would be unique. "I wonder if there's a directory around here - like, what kind of stores do they have?"

Only one way to find out - to dive right in. Adventure.

"Space." Octane reiterated. "It's wonderful."

So it was decided, they were going to stick together and find things fun here in this place. "I wonder if my accounts work here?" He inquired to himself mostly. "If this place recognizes money from where I'm from, we're set." He offered with a smile cheerfully. But it was only a part of the equation. Looking around more, he pointed towards something like a kiosk. "That?"

And he was off without waiting for his new friend, with speed from his augmentations assisting him.

Arriving at the kiosk, Octavio started punching away at the keys on it, and immediately figured out his way around. By the time Beverly would get to him he looked over. "Okay, so I have no idea what any of the store names are exactly, but they sort by categories, and they offer maps." He tapped away and picked up a datapad showing Beverly the tech and the map on it. "This station is gigantic, but we can find things we might want to stop at." He tapped on an icon, and immediately all the food places were marked. "Mi amor, they have pretzels." The look on his face was almost desperate. "We have to get pretzels." There was a pause as he looked down then to her again.

"I apologize. I didn't take your wants into consideration." He frowned. "What would you like to see?"

Wow, okay, he moved quickly. She supposed that was a good thing - Beverly would do her best to stay with it, given her very 'plain vanilla human' status. Taking steps to catch up, she joined Octane by the kiosk and studied the screen, fascinated with the layout and the tech of it all - obviously it was light years (like, literally?) past what they had back on good old Mother Earth.

"If you think I'm going to turn down a pretzel in space, you're crazy," she grinned. "Hmm, let's see what else - "

She did an experimental taptap with a manicured nail, reaching over to see what was what. "This is - I guess kind of a trinket shop? That would be good. I need to get a Christmas present or two." It was possible that Earth accounts wouldn't work to pay for things but they could try. If not, well. Maybe there was a currency exchange somewhere?

The moment that Beverly agreed to the pretzel, their agenda was set. Perfect! Taking the piece of tech, and sliding it in his back pocket for them to reference later, Octane looked about to get his exact location to lead them for their first stop. "Uh. This way!" Octane announced while pointing.

While they moved in that direction, Octavio kept his speed closer to match his compatriot. "So." He started. He was still fairly new to the town, so he was still learning his way. "How long have you been stuck in town?" He asked looking to Beverly. "What did you do previously?" Just simple questions to get to know her.

Which led to the next question. "Do the doors always lead to such strange situations?"

"Only a few weeks - almost a month, I think?" Beverly tried to calculate when that moment was, the time when she'd fallen into a new dimension (literally), scared and sopping wet and not wearing shoes. It had been cold too, it still was cold - but at least she was better equipped to handle it now.

And she was making friends. Like this enthusiastic Octane guy here, who accompanied her into a space mall. Would the wonders never cease?

It was interesting to look around too, as they walked, heading for whatever passed for pretzels - she was intrigued by the idea. And by the design, which looked very futuristic - reminded her of the Jetsons, really, curving and round forms, probably inspired by flying saucers and atomic diagrams. "I was a fashion designer before this," she added. "So all of this is - well, it's definitely new. I've only been through like two other doors and they were strange but not bad. The first one was also a mall but it was a 90s mall."

Like from her teenage dream years. "What about you, what did you do before ending up in town?"

Alright, so she hadn't been her much longer than he had been. It had been a week or so for himself. Or longer? Shorter? It was something like that. Truly Octane didn't particularly pay attention to the time. What was in his interest other than getting back was enjoying the full adventure that he was on.

Like now! Meeting Beverly and literally running into her was a combination of a few things for him. A new friend, and a stunning one at that. They were going to have a grand time.

Considering his fashions he had at hand back in the times he was in the Apex Games. A fashion designer might have been useful. Something that might have stepped up his fashion game some. "That's awesome. I wasn't one for fashion." Octane answered honestly. Which led into his previous profession.

There was no hesitation from the young man. "I was a contestant in a series of games called Apex Games." Both of his hands went behind his head while they walked, cradling his head. "They're my final performance really.." He paused some. "Seeking that next rush is difficult, so have I completed The Gauntlet, and got my legs I decided to compete." Octavio shrugged nonchalantly.

"What great rush than fighting for your life?" He sighed some. "I was 'midst a game when I ended up here." Frowning it was obvious that it bothered him he was pulled from it. You didn't get rich or famous by not competing.

Fighting for your life. Beverly snorted in dry amusement, feeling a prickly chill course up and down her spine. "I did the fighting for my life thing," she assured. "Once when I was a kid, then later just now. It wasn't that great." But she'd come out of the experience alive, so that was something - only side effects were persistent and probably permanent light sleeping, bad dreams, and a boatload of trauma shared between her and her friends, and none of them wanted to talk about it or address it, and just just thought they could get away with it being A Thing That Happened without ever mentioning again.

But let's not get into all of that, shall we?

She assumed they were coming up on what was the space mall food court - because she definitely saw stands for ice cream in little dot form. Freeze-dried, maybe? And probably snacks in little space tubes - like coffee and other delicious things, but coffee in a tube was definitely what she wanted. "Well, I guess you'll get another rush sampling space food?"

Considering her words he thought for a moment. It was logical that not everyone would have the same sheer desire for that rush he sought after. The jump before looking and with no hesitation. "When I was a kid, I was more jumping off of things I wasn't supposed to." There was a pause before he added. "I still do that though." He laughed. "I believe that people should be allowed to make the choices they want, so you choosing to not want to fight perfect." He laughed as he bounced on his two legs some with a little extra spring walking backwards in front of her. "Besides, it's probably the smarter decision. I never was one to think things through."

With a spin he looked forward towards the area they were encountering. It had food he knew, and food he had never seen. This food court seemed to stretch for a long distance. How big was this place?!

Looking over, Octane smiled a charming smile. "The rush isn't the food, but the date you try the food with." Which was true. Sure eating was good, but the company is what made it the adventure. "Lets get a bunch of stuff to try and we'll sit down and try it all!"

"I have a feeling you do a lot of things you're not supposed to," Beverly smirked. He just had that troublemaker air about him. But not in a bad way - sort of a carefree way, that reminded her of herself once upon a time. The smells of the mall food court were interesting, they tickled her nose, and the view from the windows even better - it was like looking right out into the heavens, supernovas and galaxies exploding into her vision with endless color. "Do we have any...money? To try all the things?"

It was a decent idea, since she was feeling a little peckish in space, but - she didn't want to use the five-finger discount here and end up in space jail. Who would they call for bail money? They'd probably be screwed.

She was responded to with a devious grin and a shrug. There was plenty he wasn't supposed to do, and that he did anyway. Not things in malice, but exactly that. He was carefree. Ride the good vibes sort of deal. "Well, I suppose it's up to the person and how the construe.. 'not supposed to'." Octane challenged. While they were starting to line up, for whatever they were getting first, Octavio couldn't help but shrug. "I have no idea." He frowned. If didn't get his pretzel, he was killing someone. Metaphorically.

When it was their turn, Octane just came out with it. "How do you pay? We're not from these parts." Where the bright orange alien behind the counter proceeded to explain that they took all sorts of payment methods and currencies.

Still have his own method of paying from home, he ordered up two pretzels and then tapped his card to a reader, and it toned - flashed green - and their purchase was final. "Hah! Success!" Turning to Beverly he handed off one of the pretzels. "We have money!"

Was everyone an alien, but them? Though Beverly supposed that, to those who frequented this mall, the very human-looking people were considered alien. It was all a matter of perspective? "This feels a little bit like a dream, but I've already pinched myself," she chuckled - nope, it was all real. Just an acid trip through the doors, that was it.

She took the pretzel with an ooooh, examining it curiously. Most of her soft pretzel experience fell into the category of 'overpriced at a baseball game' or 'sad, frozen supermarket version' so this was definitely a treat. "If we have money, I can find us some ice cream then?" she suggested.

Octane did say he wanted to try a bunch of things, so, maybe they could sample whatever space mall had to offer.

Space and aliens, man. To be fair, he had only encountered humans up to the point of his coming to Starklandia, but who cared. Orange, green, pale, or slug man. They were all... people? Whatever. You'd get the point. Octane didn't care the shade of their skin as he cared about them as being a person. But none the less Beverly's comment made Ocatvio reach out, and pinch her lightly. "Hm. Seems real enough to me!" With a laugh he maneuvered out of her reach to avoid retaliation. Couldn't make it too easy.

Nodding he munched on the soft pretzel a bit. "Yeah. We have money." He took a good bite and then got excited about ice cream prospects. With a mouthful of pretzel he spoke. "Weee ould giit ith crm!" Then he realized what he was doing, and how unflattering. Swallowing quickly. "YES!" Simple response.

They were walking as it was he stopped to look at Beverly. She was nice. He nudged her lightly. "Wanna check that store out while we figure out where ice cream is?" Octavio gestured at the store he was mentioning.

She rolled her eyes, fondly - he reminded her of Richie a little, which wasn't a bad thing. Beverly adored Richie - jury was still out if she'd end up feeling similarly about Octavio here, but she guessed she'd see. "I mean, you'd have to be a killer of joy to not want ice cream," she pointed out. Pretty much everyone loved the stuff. It was a universal rule (except if you were lactose intolerant, but that was just sad and lactose-free ice cream was a thing anyway).

Breaking off another piece of pretzel, a small piece to pop into her mouth, she nodded. Crystal blue eyes slid toward the store in question, doing a quick assessment, but she didn't really see why they couldn't go in. "Sure, why not," she nodded. "Do you have something specific you would want to find?"

A loud gasp erupted from Octane. "Nooo!" He shook his head. "How dare you suggest such a terrible thing." Frowning, he looked away in a pout. "I am bringer of joy and good times." And death, but that was a part time gig. "We're getting ice cream, and you can't stop me." He said matter of fact, or as if they hadn't already decided to get ice cream. Mostly that she was the evil one baring their ice cream endeavors.

Following suit, he munched on his pretzel being less careful with it, ultimately shrugging about places he wanted to find. Swallowing his food he glanced her. "I'm not sure. Honestly, I need so much stuff since I just got here." He paused looking around. "Well not here, but back there here." He paused thinking about it but moving on as he moved towards the store. "What about you? Anyone you're shopping for?"

"Yeah, I get that. When I first arrived I had basically nothing as well." Just the clothes she had been wearing, which were sopping wet - she'd gotten into Van Dyne's immediately and put on warmer things, and since then she'd accumulated something of a wardrobe.

Who was she if she wasn't Beverly Marsh, fabulously dressed? It wasn't something she really could picture for herself, honestly. If she had nothing, she at least had her ability to present herself to the world, looking collected and put together.

Anyway, so they'd be looking for a variety of things in the space mall, apparently. "I could use a Secret Santa present but I have some backup ideas and options so it's not required," she shrugged, dusting pretzel salt off her hands. "Still, how cool would it be to get a gift from space?" Rhetorical question.

"I managed to get some clothes from a small snow town with Klaus, but other than that I'm still lacking." Octane shrugged. When he arrived he was in what he was wearing from the games but toting an assault rifle in a snowball fight. A little extreme, but Sirius explained some things and they teamed up for the battle to come. It was a blast!

Considering some of his options he sighed. "I don't even know who this Crowley guy is. Never met him." With a shrug. "I'll just get him something weird." Octavio laughed at that.

"It's the coolest! Space is so cool!" But now being in the store at hand, there seemed to be a ton of things. Posters, clothes, and weird little trinkets. Well, this was a good first stop for some of those good things they needed!
