alwaysactive ([info]alwaysactive) wrote in [info]snapthread,
Natasha's eyebrows rose up toward her hairline just a touch when a man suddenly appeared behind the desk, it didn't take a genius to figure out he'd been on the floor - it was, well she didn't really know what it was. A far cry from the five star hotels she was used to staying in perhaps. Still he had a nice smile, warm and friendly, even if a bit silly. She decided she liked it, even if it wasn't what she was sued to. "Ah yes, I think so." At least that's what her manager had said. So she hoped that things had actually been taken care of and she wasn't just going to end up standing here with nothing waiting for her.

And she nodded when he asked her name, not sure if he actually knew it on his own or just the reservation - but she saw it there in the book of reservations, no computers tucked behind desks here it seemed. It was quaint, and she got the impression that had been part of the point. A little bit of distance from things like the internet and comment pages and a little more time in the real paper and pen kind of world.

"That's me," She agreed. "It's quiet, is it always this quiet around here?" She wondered, curious now and well, she wanted to talk a little bit maybe, with someone who didn't look at her with pity or confusion. It was a welcome change.
