The last time Bucky Barnes had enjoyed playing in the snow was probably sometime in the 1930's. Although the Winter Soldier had been kept in Siberia and the word 'winter' was literally part of his title, Bucky hadn't exactly been allowed to go make snow angels. Even afterward when he'd broken free of HYDRA, there was some snow in Bucharest but keeping a very low profile didn't lend itself to allowing much time to catch snowflakes on his tongue. He'd never seen snow in Wakanda, so that'd been out, too. But here, he had all the time in the world to play in the snow, and now he had a husband who was very playful too so it made for a fun time out in the cold.

They took Lucky, Goat Tony and the pokemon all out into the snow as well, which made for a great time at least for a little while. Eventually Tony started screaming and that put the fun on pause for about five minutes while they got their zoo all back inside and dried off so they could warm up. Bucky and Clint went back out for a pretty epic snowball fight. The thing was, when you put two expert marksmen on opposing sides in a snowball fight, they were gonna land hits every time. Snowballs weren't bullets or arrows but they were still pretty fucking great at aiming and launching.

Really messy snow angels were next on the agenda. They both started off doing it right but when they rolled to get up they rolled into each other at the same time and so of course they had to start making out a little in the snow. "We gotta work on the snow angels. We kind of suck," he murmured, rolling Clint over and kissing him. "On second though I don't really give a fuck."

It probably hadn't been quite as long as Bucky, since Clint had last played around in the snow. He'd grown up in states made mostly of snowy months, after all, and had relocated to New York right after his stint with the circus. Back in those early years, it'd been business as much as fun with the Avengers - snowball fights had begun with Jan and ended with Natasha. For a while there, Bobby had been playful, too. It'd been fun.

But it'd also been a few years now, and not just because he'd taken a few stints on the west coast, or traveled the globe. Things just -- hadn't been fun for Clint at all, not for a long time.

He'd been depressed. For a long time. Clint realized that now. And it wasn't exactly something that completely went away. That wasn't how brain chemistry worked, but there were less things here to be stressed about, to take him down some swirling endless road of sad followed by naps.

Bucky was here. And Bucky was great. Practically perfect in every way. The Mary Poppins of past Russian brainwashed assassins, really. So Clint found himself, for the first time, in a very long time happy.

"My snow angel was perfect," Clint corrected, smiling against Bucky's lips. They were both chilled, Clint's jeans about soaked through, and his ears were burning a little, but it was all so good that he didn't care for a lick. "I wouldn't mind it if you gave a little fuck," he teased, raising his eyebrows playfully -- right before squishing a hand full of snow into Bucky's forehead and rolling away to laugh for years.

Both of them had gone through periods of not-fun-times. Bucky hated that for Clint, just as he knew Clint hated it for him. They'd dealt with their fair share of hard times and it was still ongoing. Even though they'd found happiness with each other and had fun most days, they still had hardships. Dark days. Sad naps. The difference was that they were able to go through those difficult moments together. The nightmares, the guilt, the shame, all of it came in far less doses nowadays and Bucky too was just so happy.

Loving Clint was so easy to do, and it felt like it was easy for Clint to love him too. He had no idea when they started innocently/accidentally flirting at comic con that he was flirting with his future husband. That damn centaur fanart and the Mervengers. Bucky owed that fan artist a lot.

He laughed, then growled a bit when Clint shoved snow into his forehead. That laughter; god, he loved that laugh. Both of them were cold, soaked from the snow. Bucky'd tied his hair back but there were still flecks of snow all in it. He crawled after his laughing husband and picked up two handfuls of snow, which he let go of and let the powdery cold fluff rain down over him. "A little fuck, huh," he teased back. "Is that all?"

Together was definitely better than not. It was harder to really fall into a pit of endless despair when you lived with someone who loved you. No matter who was having the bad day, the other one was always there to try and help them out of it. Not having the time to wallow kind of helped. And not having to verbalize anything made it easier too. They could sign, or sometimes just share knowing looks.

And it was better. It just... felt better.

Clint always felt so endlessly grateful for Bucky that sometimes he didn't even know what to do with that big, huge feeling.

And other times, he was just fucking so happy. Like right now. It felt great to just laugh loudly in the snow, teasing and flirting and roughhousing like a couple of idiots who had all the time in the world. Clint made a noise of protest over the dusting of snow, blowing it out of his face as best he could. It didn't really work, and the snow melted down his forehead, into his hair. "Well," he said, moving to prop himself up on his elbows and give Bucky an overly exaggerated appraising sort of look. "It's never so little. I'd take a big fuck, if you're offering."

Being in love was wonderful. Being in love with someone who understood you and just accepted you as you were while also helping bring out the best in you was even better. It had been such an unexpected turn of events in Bucky's life but it was such a welcome development that he was forever grateful for.

The life they had together was not at all what Bucky would've imagined for himself, but it was better than any dream he would have dared to have. Even on the darker days, knowing he loved a man who loved him just the same made everything so much easier.

And the happy days? Best ever. Right now? Best ever. Bucky grinned at his husband. "I know I mix up the cool kid slang because I'm ancient but I think I'm right when I say, go home and go big." Bucky pushed himself up to his feet, then reached down and pulled Clint up easily, right into a deep kiss.

No, it wasn't really what Clint had imagined for himself either. Not at all, really. He'd been married once and it hadn't been nearly so nice as this, not even at their best times. Which was no offense to Bobbi, of course, it was just that life had been pretty good at getting them down and maybe Clint had been too young at the time to really know how to be with someone? He didn't know. All he'd known was that a few years ago, he'd mostly just dedicated himself to the idea of being single and stupid 24/7.

But here they were, and it was fucking great.

Clint kinda really fucking liked the way that Bucky could just yank him up from the ground with no effort at all, and he laughed over it, right into Bucky's mouth before he took the time to be more serious, to press into the kiss, lick into Bucky's mouth like it was the best thing he'd ever had. He liked it best when they both pulled away, feeling a little bruised, mouths red. "Go home and get big?" he repeated it wrong on purpose.

There were probably always going to be moments when Bucky found himself shocked and in disbelief that this was the life he had now. He had moments where he felt completely undeserving, that Clint could do so much better, that he didn't feel he should have such uninhibited happiness because of all the things he'd done in his past. But he'd gotten a lot better about reminding himself that he could still lament the things that had happened in the past but still build a better present and future for himself. He hadn't realized it until it happened, but really, hashing it out with Tony and reaching an understanding with him really went a long way in helping him get to that point mentally and emotionally. His darker days weren't as frequent as they used to be.

That laugh, the way Clint melted right into him once he was on his feet; fuck, it was the most perfect thing ever. Bucky too was a fan of bruising kisses; the kind that left your lips tingling, a little numb, a bit dizzy and light-headed, and your lungs burning with the need for breath. He wanted more of that, along with some wandering hands, clutching and pulling at snow-damp clothing, Clint pulling his hair while he absolutely groped his ass. Yeah. He wanted it.

"Mm, I think that's the right way to say it," he said lowly against his lips, even though that was definitely wrong too. And then it was a game of trying to get back into their house while still managing to steal kisses and clawing at each other's clothes. Bucky had no idea where the animals were once they got through the door. He had a one track mind to get Clint upstairs.

All those things that Bucky wanted were things that Bucky was going to get. And more. Way more. Clint was already tripping over himself, hands clinging to Bucky's waist and then biceps and in one particular instance, his ass as they made it into the house, up the first set of stairs and away from the menagerie of animals that had taken over there. To think, that had once been where he'd mostly lived.

But now he had his big apartment, a two floored loft and they stopped tripping up that first flight of stairs, Clint's deft hands getting the zipper of Bucky's coat undone, pushing it off his shoulders to flop down on the kitchen floor before they moved on any further.

They'd leave a trail in their wake - all cold soggy clothes, and Clint was totally fine with the idea of picking it all up later, because right now he was on a mission. "Frickin love the hell out of you," he said, and it came out mumbled, muffled, because his words were going directly into Bucky's mouth.

That whole saying about marriage causing the passion to die in a relationship? Yeah, that didn't apply even a little bit to the two of them. It'd been burning hot since the start and long after their Vegas wedding. If anything, Bucky felt like they were even more into each other the more they learned about the things they liked, the things they loved, and the things that made their toes curl and nails dig into each other's skin. The love and lust factors were on a pretty even playing field, and it worked so fucking well.

Getting into the apartment part of the house had been a little tricky, but not impossible. They stumbled through the animals and up the stairs all while pulling at clothing until they finally started to actually get things off. It was cold, but Bucky didn't feel it. He was hot for his husband and god, all he wanted was to get naked and give into each other. Clint's words made him grin, though that grin was swallowed up into a heated kiss that had him moaning a response into his husband's mouth before they came up for air. "Love you," he breathed out, "so fucking much." With their cold, wet clothes finally off he pulled Clint right down into their bed and tangled their limbs while rolling him over onto his back and kissing him hard.

It was cold, sure, and it wasn't like Clint didn't notice it but it was the kind of cold that didn't matter because once he was completely naked and down on the bed, everything would start warming up -- Bucky was like the world's best furnace and the dry blankets would take care of his damp hair and skin before the air even got to it.

He giggled into Bucky's mouth, bit at his lower lip, and then his jawline -- not the sexy side bit, but right on his chin, basically, because Clint was an animal and couldn't not be ridiculous whenever the opportunity presented itself. "Love you more," he said, breathy, hands wandering because he was unable to not squeeze at Bucky's ass when it was naked and near him. He liked declaring his love like it was a competition that neither of them could ever really win. He never wanted to win.

He remembered learning a long time ago that getting naked with someone was definitely the best way to warm up so -- this was not only for their physical pleasure but also for survival, right? Sure. He didn't need an excuse to get naked with his husband though, so he was just happy as fuck about it.

Would those little flutters in his heart ever go away? Bucky didn't think he wanted that to be answered but so far the answer was no. It didn't matter how many times they tumbled into bed in a naked knot of limbs or when they'd carefully lie each other down and slowly touch and kiss and make love; his heart was constantly fluttering and skipping beats. How was it even possible to love someone so much and still have the capacity to love him more? Again, there was no need to answer the question; it was just the greatest thing ever.

He groaned as he felt those hands on his ass again and in response he gave a little roll of his hips. A low chuckle escaped him when Clint actually bit his chin. Of course his husband was ridiculous; Bucky loved that about him. It brought out his own playfulness that had so long laid dormant in him. "Not possible," he said, and lowered his head to definitely leave a hickey on Clint's neck. Hickeys were funny and silly and Bucky was so amused by it. "If the wedding ring and centaur art weren't indicative enough, now everyone's gonna know you're taken."

Nah, that flutter was there to stay. It was like that good tingle you got when you saw someone for the first time in a long time, or got an actual real letter in the mail you genuinely wanted to hear from. It was like a text at one am that took your breath away. Something like that. Except it never really faded and Clint saw Bucky every day. It was such a nice feeling, that little something of pleasure and love.

"Totally possible," Clint countered with a laugh even as he tilted his head back more, offering up space for Bucky to do some real good hickey art in. If Clint had anything going for him that Bucky didn't, it was that he bruised like a frickin' picture and was nearly always sporting some kind of color, cut or mark on his skin. Usually due to clumsiness, but the best kinds were the ones that were left in love, though. "Yeah," he agreed, grazing short nails up Bucky's ass, across his sides. "They never woulda guessed before but a hickey'll do it. Everyone's gonna be so jealous."

It was exactly like that. And it happened all the time. No matter if they'd spent most of the day apart, or only a minute or two and they just turned to meet eyes. That flutter was always there. Accompanying it was always that realization of yes, this is my person and it filled him with such warmth and happiness. It still felt like a dream; better even, because it was real. Bucky couldn't think of anything better than loving someone so much, and knowing that same person felt the exact same way about him.

...although sex with said person was pretty close.

One of the things that Bucky had to sort of discover through intimacy with his husband was to find a balance between letting his passion take over and being mindful that Clint wasn't a super soldier. He wasn't going to handle him like a fragile piece of porcelain but he also didn't want to break any bones in his husband's body. He wasn't overly cautious, just aware. It didn't take away from the experience, that was for sure.

He chuckled low in his throat. No, nobody would've known by the dumb googly eyes or the wedding bands but the hickey would tell the tale. "What do you want, sweetheart?" He whispered in his ear, then ran his tongue along the shell of it. "Hm? What do you want right now?"

Clint didn't really need Bucky to be cautious -- sure, it was nice that he was thoughtful like that, but he wasn't really sure it was necessary. He wasn't breakable and it wasn't like he thought Bucky was gonna split him in half with his dick or anything.

And if he did, frankly, Clint was pretty sure he'd be more impressed than he was angry. He'd limp it off for a few weeks and laugh about it the whole time. That seemed fair to him.

Clint let out a weird, shivery kind of giggle when Bucky whispered at him and then licked his ear. It was always such an odd mental processing, when people whispered or said anything close to him at all these days. Hearing aids weren't great for layered translations. "Fuck that feels weird," he said, but clearly sort of liked it. "Was I not promised dick? I seem to remember you promising that."

"I did promise that, didn't I?" A grin pulled at his lips as he drew back and looked down at his husband. His husband. Bucky didn't think he'd ever get over how happy that made him. He didn't want to get over it, either. If he could always be this happy just from thinking about Clint, let alone how elated he was whenever they were together, then life was pretty fucking great.

He kissed down the angle of Clint's jaw to his lips and stayed there for a bit because he really, really loved kisses. It was a way to talk without talking and that was also something they both did really, really well.

They'd taken to stashing lube in the bed for easy access; sometimes under the mattress but this time it was under Bucky's pillow so he blindly grabbed for it and squeezed a bit out onto his fingers. "Gotta make good on my word," he said, as he snaked his hand down, down further, until he was teasing Clint's entrance by pressing the pad of his index finger there and slowly working it in.

"Yes. Follow through. That's a thing. Do it, or else I'll pout. And also leave the top door open tonight so you can hear Tony scream through the night while I blissfully sleep through it. This is a real threat." It was not a real threat, even if it was something he could feasibly do.

Mostly because he wasn't an asshole. Also there was no world in which Bucky would get him all fired up and then decide to Nope out of the situation either. Which was obvious, considering all the places and ways they stashed lube around the house.

Honestly, they were like a couple of lovesick teenagers sometimes. Except, unlike teenagers, they were actually good at kissing and sex. Being in their thirties was fucking awesome.

Clint practically wriggled further onto Bucky's fingers -- never afraid of a little stretch and burn when it was for a good cause. "Fuck. Yep. This is the only outcome of a snowball fight," he decided. They were the only winners in town, so far as he was concerned.

"That's cruel," he said with a low chuckle on his lips. Bucky didn't think Clint would actually subject him that sort of torture, but it was funny to think about it even if he'd be the one suffering while his husband slept soundly beside him.

And no, in no scenario would it ever end where Bucky decided to peace out of having sex. Why the hell would he do that? The chemistry between him and Clint was, frankly, off the charts. The desire between them hadn't fizzled over time; it had only ignited to be that much hotter.

There'd never really been any clear indication of how to figure out who won or when the battle was over. That was actually pretty amusing to Bucky but it also was very convenient because it meant they could call themselves the winners if they wanted. And honestly, given what they were doing now, he'd consider that a win regardless. "Mhmm…" He murmured, while sliding his fingers in and out of his husband to keep working those muscles. He sought out Clint's mouth for another hot, fiery kiss.

"Didn't you know?" Clint asked playfully even as he stretched himself out over the sheets -- wanton and at least a little bit ridiculous about it because playing coy wasn't really something that Clint was good at. "I'm a cruel man. That's basically my middle name. Clint Cruel Barto--oh!"

There was no keeping it up, not when Bucky got down to some real facts business with his fingers (and look, he had really nice hands in general. Long fingers, dexterous in ways that most people weren't, and if practice made perfect, Bucky was using them at some godly levels these days) and leaned down to kiss him at the same time.

Clint obviously kissed back -- clinging to Bucky with one arm even while he rolled his hips, an urgent prompt for more even while he reached between the both of them in order to get his own hand on Bucky's dick. There wasn't any rush, mind, but sometimes he couldn't help but feel a little frantic with want.

Bucky wouldn't call himself a proud man, but one thing he did take pride in was being a skillful lover to Clint. When they first began to get physical with each other, he'd taken pretty intricate mental notes when it came to his husband's body. He wanted to learn everything there was to know about what not only could pleasure him, but could make his toes curl and what made it impossible for him to stay still. He'd become very well versed in all things Clint Barton, but that didn't make him complacent. He was very enthusiastic about pleasuring his husband.

It thrilled him to hear those little oh!'s every so often when he did something just right. It fueled his enthusiasm to do that much more, to redouble his efforts and strive to make Clint see stars. He groaned low in his throat as he felt a hand on his dick and lightly bit Clint's lip. "Mm, you're getting handsy." He chuckled and hooked his fingers just a bit as he started to slide in a third. They'd both been taking notes at the same time, probably. It was ridiculous and cute and it was a wonder they'd gotten anything done properly at all those first few times because they were so busy mentally cataloguing all the noises the other one made.

And giggling. Clint recalled quite a bit of that. And that hadn't changed at all. They both still laughed a lot, and that was probably the best part of all, even beyond the porn noises and moans.

"Fuck yeah," Clint said, because that was the kind of stuff people were meant to say in bed - full of energy and want and enthusiastic consent. It was fucking awesome. Just like that third finger Bucky was pressing into him was awesome -- and Clint said so by keeping up his handsy-ness until he was too desperate. "Okay, okay," he said once he felt sufficiently stretched, ready to be open. "That's good, so good. Need you now, okay?"

The giggling. Lord, the giggling and laughing. They both did plenty of it but not in a way that was deprecating toward each other. It was more like 'wow, holy shit' sort of laughing. The kind that said, 'oh my god, how is it possible it's this good?' The two of them just had so much fun together. They enjoyed each other in every way. Bucky still pinched himself often to remind himself that this life he had with Clint was real. They were really there, really married, and Clint really loved him.

Being so in tune with his husband's body, Bucky knew that when Clint assured him that he was okay, he meant it. He could also hear the desperation in his voice and Bucky was right about there with him. "Okay," he replied, and went for another kiss while he withdrew his fingers. "Okay." He said it again while he reached for the lube and playfully chased Clint's hand away from his dick so he could slick it up. Once he'd prepped himself, he pushed Clint's legs apart and positioned himself accordingly. That didn't mean they'd stay in that position, but for right now he wanted to be close to him this way. He leaned down and kissed him while pushing inside of him.
