WHO: Remus Lupin and Eddie Kaspbrak WHAT: Snowy chats WHERE: Around town WHEN: Afternoon RATING: Low
One of Remus' favorite sounds was the sound of snow right when it touched the ground. You had to listen very carefully, and there couldn't be any other louder sounds that might drown it out. But if you were lucky, if you listened hard enough, it sounded like the softest wind chime ringing when the flakes connected with the ground or each other. It was beautiful. In a town like Starklandia with no loud hustle and bustle like in Diagon Alley or in the muggle world where automobiles were so loud, it was easier to hear it. Sometimes when he was healthy enough, he'd venture out at Hogwarts to listen. A few times when hiding in the Whomping Willow prior to the full moon, he'd drag himself to the boarded windows and cast an extended hearing charm to hear it. But here in Starklandia, he could hear it just by walking outside.
He'd never been able to tolerate the cold for too long due to his health, but that was what warming charms were for. Remus had charmed the inside of his coat to keep him warm, as well as the long, fluffy scarf he had around his neck. That certainly helped, though he'd still need to probably duck inside a shop at some point to warm up before he made the walk back home.
He'd already popped into COFFEE, and taken the charmingly humorous owner up on his offer of hot chocolate because -- chocolate. Other than listening to the snowfall, Remus also had been doing a bit of scouting to sort of come up with the most logical perimeter to create the reverse snowglobe he'd spoken of on the network. He had an idea for a spell to cast in order to do it, but he wasn't terribly sure if the idea would even take off. Granted, if they ended up with snow up to their waists, it'd probably be in their best interests to do it. He took a sip of his hot chocolate, and looked up to watch the snowflakes falling down around him, clinging to his hair and coat, landing on his nose. Snow was lovely, at least during the first fall.
