It was very rarely brought up. None of it had even happened in Sirius' timeline yet, and while Remus had been through most of it, he hadn't learned the whole truth until he had a very informative talk with Sirius' younger brother who was no longer in town. And then when James all but confirmed then piece of the puzzle he'd been unsure if he believed, everything fell into place. But there was no relief in finding out the truth (other than that it had cleared Sirius and Remus both of the wrongdoings they'd been accused of). The only take away they had was that the love he and Sirius had for each other had always been true, and they'd never betrayed each other or James. It helped Remus sleep at night, but it was still awful and painful and he and Sirius both avoided talking about it as much as they could. The sad part was, they couldn't really even reminisce about their youthful days as a foursome, because it was all a sham. Well, Remus didn't believe all of it had been a lie. He just thought Peter fell into something he couldn't get out of and instead of turning to them for help, he turned on them to save himself. It didn't mean he excused him; if anything, that was even more painful than if he'd just been lying since day one. He wouldn't reject the idea of talking about it if the subject came up, but he also wouldn't jump at the chance to divulge about their shitty ex-friend.
"I love Sirius with my whole heart and soul, and even I can honestly voice that he requires a great deal of patience," he said with utter fondness in his voice. "He's a handful, and then some. Has been since we were children. I take it you understand what that's like."
Remus glanced up at the sky to watch the snowfall. It was beautiful, even if it chilled his bones. He didn't mind. He'd just ask Sirius for extra warm cuddles under a blanket later. "Oh, a good while," he said. "Sirius has been here a wee bit longer than me, but it's been.. about eight months? Almost nine. Wow. I'm not sure if I should say it's flown by, or if it feels like I've been here forever."
