Who: Anyone who wants to be spooked in space!
What: Scary alien time
Where: Through the doors and into USCSS Nostromo
When: Open throughout the Halloween Event

While returning to Earth from Thedus, the Nostromo was diverted to the Zeta II Reticuli system when the ship's mainframe intercepted a distress beacon originating from an uncharted planetoid. The ship is top of the line for her age, complete with hypersleep chambers, mess hall, infirmary, and other industrial areas. The ship also comes equipped with the AI designated MU-TH-UR, to answer questions and make sure the crew is on mission. And through the ship there is a feeling of being watched, though the crew seems to be nowhere to be found.

'Evidence of the Nostromo's unceasing mechanical vigilance was everywhere on the quiet ship, in soft hums and lights that formed the breath of instrumental sentience. It permeated the very fabric of the vessel, extended sensors to check every circuit and strut. It had sensors outside too, monitoring the pulse of the cosmos. Those sensors had fastened onto an electromagnetic anomaly.'

Inside the bridge, small and built only for one person, there is a read out of the mission:

Nyx himself would be hard pressed to think of something worse than this. The time him and Val cleared out a the living dead from the hardware store wasn't even this bad. That was a calculated and simple method of eliminating the threat they had to deal with. This though, this was a gods damned monster that was able to likely destroy them easily if they weren't careful. Pulling himself together he looked to Kitty.

"Alright. Take stock. You can.." He paused looking for words. "Walk us through walls? Can you do anything else?" He questioned so he could look at things more calculatedly. "I have my magic. Lightning, fire. I can make that barrier I did earlier. I can go invisible, and warp. Though Warping you and I is a little tough if I had to do it, but it's possible." Flexing his free hand he prepared himself. Steeled his nerves.

"I agree. Getting out of here is absolutely priority one." Then the scream. The blood curdling scream that echoed through the ship's hull. Followed by rapid automatic fire, which was deafened by the later silence. Nyx was torn between tasks. Help survivors, and make it back to his princess. "That is ominous." Nyx whispered not noticing the Xenomorph slinking down at him.

"Right, yeah walking through walls, I can go entirely intangible if I need to - I can make you the same if we need it, I just have to have a hand on you." She added, needing him to know that if she reached for him she needed him to reach back so she could keep him safe, she and John hadn't had time to talk before they'd needed to make use of her powers the first time she went through the doors, this didn't have to go the same way.

"If I can get close enough I can phase it through something too, through the floor, a wall, out into space." That'd probably be good, or even half way, trap it in a wall or the floor, maybe she could even phase her hand into it - that thing had a brain right? It had to if it was alive? At least she thought it must.

She was still thinking about possibilities when she heard the scream, and the sounds of gunfire, her eyes went wide as she looked in the direction she thought she'd heard it coming from. "I thought we were -" She'd been getting ready to say alone when she saw it this time, the shape moving in the darkness, slowly like it might take them by surprise and she moved then, pushing Nyx out of the way to phase herself through the monster that had been coming for them, she only unphased for a moment, but it was enough to realize what a mistake that was, she held back the scream as best she could as she pulled her arm back and put herself in front of Nyx even while cradling her arm in front of herself, she could still protect them even if she was hurt - she'd take stock of the injury later, when they were out of here. "Go, we've got to go."

Well, wasn't Kitty so damn useful in this situation. Between the pair of them, they were going to be just fiiiiine- It wasn't that he was mad, but he was mostly caught off guard by the shove. Nyx managed to stay on his feet, but his attention was diverted long enough to miss mostly what was happening with his comrade. When his blues landed on Kitty, she was cradling her arm and he already knew it was bad.

"Fuck."

Moving forward the weird alien was moving awkwardly. So whatever she did to the creature was enough to fry some of it's wires internally to cause it to move unnaturally and bump not only into walls and objects. With little hesitation, Nyx grabbed Kitty on her good side to keep her moving with him. "Lets go." Nyx agreed. Through one door, and into the corridor as it was clear, he kept moving them. Then out came one of the other aliens from an intersection. "Hold on!" Nyx said underhand throwing his blade right past the creature. Clutching Kitty it happened in a flash. Second? Third? Whatever, he still managed to yank her and him through the warp right past the alien where clutched his blade again keeping them moving. Nyx just hoped she could hold her lunch through that.

Ducking into a room, he hit whatever controls to shut the door and hoped it would last. "Lets see quick." Nyx said quickly looking at her arm, which wasn't looking good. Then a bang on the door behind him brought his attention. Not getting a single break, that was for sure.

It was only that she had a lot of experience with injuries in desperate situations that kept her from crying out after what felt like acid had been poured on her arm, thankfully she'd phased again and there wasn't any left on her skin even after she pulled her arm free of the creature. But there had been damage done to her and they didn't have time to let her sit around an examine it the way she might have liked to - not when it was becoming increasingly obvious that they weren't alone here and that the one monster they'd dealt with wasn't the only one.

She leaned into Nyx and let him pull her out of the room and through darkened corridors trying to find their way out, the door back to town or maybe even just some answer that would help them finish off these things. It all happened quickly after that, moving and suddenly she had moved from one place to another and they had a door closed behind them again, though if the sounds of the creatures on the other side were any indication it wouldn't last long.

"It's - I don't know, burned maybe?" She winced finally looking at her arm now that they had just a moment. "We've got to find the door out of this place, my arm can wait, it's not falling off and at this point that's all that matters." She didn't care about the rest and in truth if losing her arm meant they got out of it alive that was a trade she was willing to make.

In the room there was a console, Kitty examined it a bit, it seemed outdated, like the tech was old despite this being a ship in space. It was strange, but Kitty could work with it, "Here." She said pointing to the internal map she'd pulled up. "There is an escape pod here," She told him, and sure it wasn't ideal, but considering the way these things were coming at them, getting off the ship might just be their best bet. "I can get us most of the way with phasing." She told him, "We might miss all of them entirely."

Burned, it looked burned and well as gross as this was... it smelled burned. Not fire as if scorched and charred but chemically. That was for the time when they got back, when they could focus on treating her wounds appropriately. In the immediate, the biggest concern was exactly as she said. Finding the door out of this place. The house was absolutely playing them all for fools it seemed.

Glancing through the small port window, Nyx watched the alien bang against the door again before it took notice of him - using the small mouth inside it's mouth to launch outward at him shattering the small window. Nyx had barely dodged it, in a fashion where he thought his life flashed before his eyes. "I think your plan is the right one." Nyx agreed jumping back over to Kitty. "Because, phasing is probably the best way to get us there."

Nyx tightened the grip on his weapon in his right hand, and held his left to Kitty. "You're the guide now, you lead the way." Nyx followed Kitty with no hesitation of where she was leading him through the first wall. He was just hoping they'd get to a door or that said escape pod - which ever first to get away from this nightmare.

"Shit," Kitty swore as the alien began to break through the door, or at least broke through the glass nearly managing to latch on to Nyx. This was not a good situation at all and they were very obviously outmatched by these things. They just needed to find a way out and get back to town as quickly as possible, or at the very least get off this ship.

"Okay, just - keep a hand on me, okay, whatever happens, whatever you see, whatever we're facing, keep a hold on me and I can keep you phased with me." Sure maybe phasing through the aliens wasn't going to be the best thing for either of them but as long as she kept them phased they should be fine, or mostly fine.

She held on to him too though, and with his agreement that she was leading the way she started off, phasing through a wall and into the next room. The map she'd pulled up was small and not nearly as detailed as she'd have liked but it would do the job well enough. They jumped through a couple halls and a few more rooms, through machinery and what looked like sleeping pods of some sort maybe? She wasn't sure - there were too many unknowns here, but she kept them moving until they came up to the final door.

"Okay, I'm going to open this - I don't want to phase through it since I'm not sure if there are any sort of technical parts in the door that I'll fry. So just.... keep an eye out I'll get this open and we'll get out of here."

The way these aliens operated, were very close to like how things he'd notice fighting Niflheim. Almost robotic or like a hive. Something driving their instincts and giving the, directive. Nyx didn't know how it operated exactly, but he was absolutely not interested in anything more than getting away from this hellscape.

Holding onto Kitty Nyx paid attention to the surroundings. There was absolutely more than one or two or however many. They looked very similar to each other, so Nyx really wasn't sure. But what he was sure of, was that they were apex hunters trying to get them. Eat? Did these things even eat? And with which mouth? Just more questions with even less answers.

Making it to their final destination, Nyx turned from Kitty while she worked on the escape pod. Looking about, he looked down a corridor and saw it. It was a door that did not look like the others. It was their door. Their escape. "Hey." He whispered slinking back to Kitty patting her arm. "Hold up." He dragged her with him to the edge of the intersection on the corridor and pointed down at the door. "Look. Is that.." Nyx's tone hopeful. "That's our ticket, right?"

She didn't like this, the way this was set up the escape pod - she knew the way ships worked, and this was - well she should have known better than to just run for the pod and hope they could get in. Ships didn't work like that, there would be some sort of hub, some sort of display to set up the ejection of the pod and now she was there fighting with tech she didn't quite understand knowing that if they didn't figure this out she and Nyx were looking at the very real possibility of not surviving this place. She'd have just phased them through the door if she wasn't worried that she might just fry any tech that was actually important to keeping the craft space worthy.

Things never could just be easy it seemed. For all that she had hoped that this trip might be a change from her usual fast paced insanity that she normally found through the doors, it seemed that nothing had changed and she was here now stuck in this place and the only silver lining to all of this was that John wasn't here too.

Thank god for Nyx really, keeping an eye out as she worked to try and open the door, spotting the thing she hadn't seen as she'd been so focused on the pod. She let him pull her away from where she'd been working to see what he had noticed. Her stomach sank realizing what it meant. "We're going to have to run for it." She said after a moment. She didn't like it, it was a bad idea, a narrow corridor but with their ticket back home on the other side what other option did they have.

"We'll do it like we did before, yeah?" She said making sure they were on the same page, "You keep close and I'll do my best to phase us through any of the worst of it - all we have to do is make it to the door and we're out of this."

One of those things, where for their first time together in this type of situation, they both just ran right into their duties as a team. Without even voicing too much on their roles. They both just knew things that needed to be done, and that showed when it came to Kitty. She wasn't a soldier, that much Nyx could tell, but she was absolutely a team player. That alone, made it easy to work with Kitty during this high stress situation.

While they took in the surroundings, and Nyx couldn't help but agree. That door was their prize and the thing they needed. "Run for it. You take point, and I'll be right behind you." Nyx nodded some watching for movement in the corridor. Having seen the things move quickly and appear from nowhere, it made it a risk for sure. "I think we need to stay low since we know they like being up above, but quick."

Taking a deep breath he steeled his nerves again. Simple as that, and he was calm and ready. These were just a different breed of monster for him to fight. Nothing more fearsome than what he fought during the war with Niflheim. This, he could handle. "Alright Captain." Nyx smirked. "Lead the way." With her on the move, Nyx was right on her heels.

She was relieved at least that Nyx seemed to be okay with her taking a bit of the lead, trusting her to phase them both when they needed it, to get the door to the pod open but now - well now things were getting more complicated as if things could get any more complicated than being trapped on what seemed to be an abandoned space ship filled with alien monsters. But here they were.

"Just make sure you keep close, whatever they are - they aren't .." She trailed off hearing the sound of something coming up behind them, no they didn't have time to stand around talking about what they were going to do, they just had to do it and Kitty was going to trust that Nyx could keep up. So she grabbed him, almost wanting to keep them phased through the whole thing, but knew it wouldn't be reasonable to do that.

But she moved quickly, ready to phase if she needed to, keeping an eye on him and the door, always keeping her eye on the door lest it disappeared again leaving them stranded a second time.

And then there was a flurry of movement off to one side of her and Kitty didn't have time to brace herself for whatever was coming for them.
