Who: All the town kids who want in
What: Hot Tub Party
Where: Tony's house
When: Today

This place was great, his dad wasn't around and he didn't have classes or tutors or anything to bother him. And he had a house full of bots and his pokemon, it was quite possibly the coolest place he'd ever been and people were coming over, it was gonna be a party!

Sure he didn't do much in the way of planning but he had his fridge full of cheese and there were drinks everywhere and Dum-E would totally make juice if people wanted it, it seemed to be about all he could do but Tony loved him and he was glad to have him there.

And well .... it was gonna be cool, he'd never had a party before, not with kids his own age so he was ready and he was antsy kind of pacing a little bit while he waited for people to show up. And just when he thought he had it all ready Tony realized there was one thing left he needed and quickly found a piece of paper and some tape scribbling a hasty note and taping it outside on his door.

Come on in! It's party time.
No adults allowed!!!

A couple of the other kids were having a party, at least that's what she'd heard. And none of the weird adults were allowed, some of the were okay - well Tony, Tony was okay. She wasn't sure how she felt about the rest of them though. So a party seemed like the perfect excuse to see who else was here, maybe some of the other girls would be here, or maybe not. She didn't know.

But she'd never been to a real party before, so she was kind of excited to see what it would be like. And she heard there was a hot tub so she wanted to see that too. And maybe there would be not tampered with snacks that she could enjoy.

There were a lot of variables really, but Natasha wanted to go, so she did. Though she'd told Tony before she left that she was leaving, she didn't want him to worry - but he had said she could do whatever she wanted. So that made it okay. The music was a little loud, and there were a lot of boys (Natasha wasn't sure she was thrilled about that), but a robot gave her juice so she was having a nice time, not really dancing as much as she was swaying just a little to the music while she decided what she would do next.

Natasha lived at his house, his house with Tony and Gwen and Natasha. When Steve looked at her sometimes he felt like his heart was going to explode out of his chest. It was a strange feeling, not like in his stomach like they sometimes were. But like he felt after seeing him Mom after she'd worked for days and days. So seeing her standing there, Steve couldn't let her just sway on her own.

"Hi Natasha!" He said all smiles as he bounded up to her. Well all smiles and a wheeze, because he was Little Stevie Rogers after all and he crammed his inhaler in his mouth to take a puff.

"I'm not a real good dancer but I'd sure like to try, if you wanted to, to maybe dance with me," he said as he looked around. No one was dancing, but Steve didn't ever really care about everyone else.

Steve was nice, Natasha liked him. She'd see the way he was with Gwen back at the house, and now here he was all smiles and happy, she liked seeing him happy, it set a part of her at ease to know he was happy, like things were right when he was happy. And he was smiling at her and that was nice too, she decided.

"Steve." She smiled a little shy but pleased that he'd approached her. But she wasn't embarrassed, as much as she was just a little bit unsure of what exactly she felt about Steve. He was familiar and nice, and he smiled at her, no one did that really. She liked him.

"Yeah?" She asked with a sudden excitement at the idea of being able to really dance, maybe no one else was dancing but she didn't really care of people were dancing too as long as she got to do it. Natasha loved dancing, she was good at it, and no one had to teach her that, she'd always been good at it. "Yes!" She paused, hesitant for just a moment, not quite embarrassed but toeing the line of it, "I mean, if you want. I'd like that."

Steve didn't think anyone would ever want to dance with him back home. The girls liked Bucky, they chased him around and around and Steve, well he thought they weren't so great anyway. They were mean and made fun of him when they were in a group even if alone sometimes they were swell. But not as swell as Natasha. She was beautiful with red hair like the best candies and maybe he loved her. Not like how he loved Bucky, but maybe like loveloved her.

"Yeah!" He replied eagerly before he took one last puff on his inhaler and crammed it back into his pocket, practically tripping over himself to offer her his hand. Steve wasn't a good dancer, but he'd watched a lot, when ever he could and hoped one day maybe someone might want to dance with him.

They'd done a lesson once at school, he'd stepped on the girl's foot and she'd been real sore about it after. So he was going to be careful not to do it again. The music wasn't right for dancing, but Steve wasn't very good at following the rhythm anyway as he did a simple box step.

Steve was nice, it was strange to meet a boy like that. She didn't meet a lot of boys really, it was mostly other girls and they weren't very nice most of the time. She understood it of course, she wasn't always very nice either. But she missed that, being able to just have fun and Steve was fun, just looking at how excited he was about dancing she could tell he was nice. And she liked that.

He wasn't a great dancer, Natasha could tell that immediately, but he was dancing a nice easy dance and she loved it, and she moved with him, counting the steps to herself just a little as they danced even when the music didn't quite fit to the style. But ballet was her preferred style and that wouldn't have worked either.

"You're pretty good," She told him, it wasn't exactly a lie - he was good enough and better than all the other kids who weren't dancing so that made him good. "I liked dancing." She told him trying for something that was more honest.

Steve was absolutely not pretty good, but Natasha was pretty swell to say it. He tried though, extra careful to be light on his toes so he didn't stand on hers. It wasn't much in time and it was a little jumpy, but it was absolutely a dance so there was that. "I never danced before, especially not with a pretty dame like you," Steve told her with a shy little smile.

Girls loves Bucky, all he had to do was smile at them and they'd giggle. When Steve smiled people were sometimes nice, or they were laughing at him for his wheeze. But Steve didn't let it get him down. "Liked? You don't like it anymore?" Steve asked her as he tried to spin her under his arm but he wasn't tall enough and had to stand up on his toes.

There was just something about her and Steve took her hand again and so all their fingers interlocked. "I missed you," he told her and he wasn't sure why he said it, but nothing had ever been so true.

"Never? You should dance more, it's fun." She told him surprised, he'd come right up to her and asked like that, who wouldn't like that? Maybe Steve was a little small, but she knew kindness when she saw it and he had plenty of that. There was too little of that in her world, she wanted it there with him.

Truth be told she hadn't realized she'd said it like that until Steve pointed it out. She didn't think it was wrong though. But it was too, she liked dancing, but she also used to like it too. It was confusing. "I like it," She agreed as she bent her knees just a little to spin with Steve as he stood up on his toes making it just a little bit easier for them both like that.

It should have been strange to have him say that to her, but she thought maybe she felt that too. And she squeezed his hand gently, pressing her forehead to his. "I missed you too." She didn't need to understand it fully to know it was true. She had missed him, the thought of him, like he'd been pulled away from her.

She hadn't made fun of him, instead she ducked under his arm and made it easier. There were plenty of fellers there she could have been dancing with, but he was with her. Which was crazy because Bucky was right there and he was something else, Steve could have just stared at him for hours and hours. But he wasn't staring at Bucky, he was watching Natasha in a strange kind of awe. "You're real beautiful," Steve told her softly.

When she leaned into him Steve wanted to wrap her in his arms, to lift her up off the ground. But he couldn't really do that. Now that they were together things were better, Steve was better and he didn't want to let her go.

"Don't go anywhere again, okay?" Steve said and he was serious. His little family there, Bucky, Gwen, Tony and Natasha, he wanted them to stay right where he could reach them.

She laughed when he told her she was beautiful, no one said that to her. But even as she laughed a little it warmed her to hear it from him. Like his opinion mattered more than others. "You're nice, Steve." She said rather than brushing off his compliment, she liked it and she thought she liked him too. Which was strange, wasn't it? But it felt right too.

It was a weird feeling dancing with him like this, wanting to hold him close and knowing he'd always catch her. It wasn't right was it? This little boy? But she knew there was more to him. Everything about this place was confusing, and she'd known it since she'd woken up that first morning and found Tony in the kitchen. She couldn't quite make sense of how it wasn't right but she knew it was and she supposed this was just one more part of it all.

Still she nodded when he told her not to go anywhere. "I'm right here." She promised him. "I don't want to go anywhere else." And it was true, there was no where else in the world she wanted to be than here in this place with these people. She didn't want to make Steve sad either. "I promise."

Because Bucky was here, Clint was here too -- not like he needed to follow the other boy around, but he kind of wanted to so that made it different and fine, he figured. He hadn't been to this sort of party before -- mostly only the birthday kinds. Or, sometimes when Barney was feeling bored, he'd sneak them into the Chuck E Cheese in town and they'd pretend to be friends with the kids who were having parties in order to get free pizza and cake.

This was different though. There were a LOT of kids and NO adults which meant it was pretty cool. But it was also kind of loud. A nice guy who called himself magic had shrunk down some purple hearing aids for him and they worked really well! Except it was still like -- trying to hear twenty different things at once, all at the same volume and Clint wasn't so sure he liked it because he kinda felt like his head was being squished in with all the noises, especially since he'd spent the last few days hearing pretty much nothing at all.

He didn't wanna be the whiny little kid that made Bucky leave with him because he had a headache though, so he was just gonna try and ignore it for a while. The best way to do that was to find a distraction -- and he found on in a red-headed girl that was standing by herself. She looked so familiar that he had to wander over to her. Just had to. "Hi," he said, wiggling his fingers in a greeting.

"Hi," Natasha returned the greeting, she hadn't been totally sold on the whole party thing at first, but the longer she was here the more fun she was having. She'd never been to anything like this and with so many kids around, she was glad Tony had told her she could do whatever she wanted because this wasn't really something she'd have let herself do normally, but with permission she was happy to be here.

"I'm Natasha," She introduced herself because that seemed important, even though he seemed kind of maybe familiar? But she wasn't sure. Maybe it was in the same sort of way that Steve was familiar too, like he was someone that she knew and maybe cared about and liked having nearby.

"Are you having fun?" She asked him. "I've never been to a party like this." Not with so many kids and everyone seeming like they were having a good time, it was strange but also fun in a good way.

It wasn't like Clint didn't like it. He just wasn't sure how to process it all. But it was pretty darn nice to just hang around people his own age, particularly since everyone seemed really nice. It really woulda ruined a lot of his mood to have to get into a fight -- especially since the odds were he wouldn't win. That didn't stop him, of course, but it did kinda suck sometimes.

But she seemed nice. Definitely not like someone who was gonna make fun of him or start a fight. "Hi," he repeated with a toothy smile. "I'm Clint." Natasha. It felt so familiar and good, like he knew her already and was positive he liked her. Maybe not the same way he was positive he liked Bucky, but close. "It is fun," he agreed, bobbing his head up and down. "But it's loud. I think parties are supposed to be loud though."

Clint. That name was familiar, so familiar, like an ache in some deep and desperate part of her that she didn't know what to do with it. But looking at him, with that silly smile on his face, Natasha knew she liked him, that she'd keep him safe if she had to. But it was a party, they were having fun, they didn't have to do anything like that.

"It is loud," She agreed with his assessment, "Sometimes they're loud, I've seen quiet ones before." She admitted though, but that wasn't really the kind of party you had fun at, "I think that's the kind adults have." She told him, "Do you want to go see the hot tub?" She asked. "It might be quieter up there?" She added, because she didn't think he liked how loud it was, it had to be bothering him if he mentioned it, right? At least that was what she guessed.

Clint didn't care for the idea of a quiet party -- it wasn't like he didn't want this one to be loud, after all. That meant that everyone was having fun. He just thought it was pretty hard to focus because it was all happening at once in his head. Which was lame. But it'd have been worse to not hear anything at all.

Still, he smiled - somewhere between shy and lopsided - when Natasha offered to go check out the hot tub. Because that seemed pretty cool and he wasn't sure if he'd ever seen one before that wasn't on TV. "Yeah," he agreed, "Let's go see."

Natasha's red, red hair was a beacon, but he woulda found the way up to the roof anyway even if he wasn't following her, he thought. It just helped. And it was quieter up here on the roof -- the music not really reaching the open air and there were just less people. So Clint let himself exhale in relief before turning to really inspect the bubbling water. "Wow," he decided, duly impressed -- and then a little embarrassed with himself for not even having thought to pretend he was cooler than this in front of a new prospective friend.

Steve was cute in that sort of earnest eager way of his, but Clint was something else entirely. She liked it when he smiled like that - he seemed nice, familiar and nice the way so many people here did, in a way that said she knew them but she still couldn't really place how. But at this point she'd stopped asking and just accepted it. Introducing herself when she needed to and running with that familiar feeling when she didn't.

She lead the way, up the stairs to the hot tub that she'd heard plenty about more than a little impressed by it, up on the roof like this, and so big. She peered over the edge of the tub into the bubbling water, it was very cool. And she even nodded at Clint's assessment, wow was absolutely right.

"Why does he have the only one?" She wondered, curious about that almost more than she was of the hot tub itself. "I live with Tony and he doesn't even have one." Which felt even more strange, if anyone should have one it should be him, but why him exactly she didn't know. It just seemed right.

Clint didn't know why Tony -- the kid one, not that other one that he hadn't met yet -- was the only one with a hot tub, but he didn't really think to question it either. It didn't seem like the sort of thing that he would ever have personally and so he didn't think into it much further than that. "My house has three floors," he said, like that possibly explained something (It didn't).

Still, he pulled his shirt off and tossed it aside without much deliberation at all and then chucked his shoes and socks off too. Because if someone had a hot tub, he was sure as heck gonna try it out. "Maybe everyone's just got something different. You wanna go in?"

Three floors was more floors than some of the other houses she'd seen, so that was something different too. Maybe Clint wasn't wrong about everyone having something different. She probably wouldn't choose a hot tub if she got to pick something, but she didn't know what she'd pick either. She'd think about it, and she could talk to Tony about it later, he'd know better why this Tony had the hot tub, and maybe he could help her find something too.

As for trying it out? Well why not? They were here, Tony had bragged about it they should try it. She pulled off her socks and shoes and hiked her dress up a little bit, she didn't have to get all the way in she thought. She could sit on the edge and try it fine. "Just a little bit." She decided, "I don't want to get all wet." She admitted. Even if it was tempting, she was already thinking about walking back home dripping wet and didn't think she'd like that.

"S'okay," Clint said stepping into the tub with all the bubbling going on -- but not sitting yet because it was hot and he wanted to get used to it first. If that was possible. He wasn't sure he'd ever been in a tub this hot, and he didn't really know what he'd been expecting because it wasn't like it was a swimming pool or anything. "I'm not gonna go in forever or super deep," he went on, "I'm not supposed to get my ears wet for long."

Still, he splished a little and splashed until he was plopping himself down next to Natasha. It had been easy to decide that they should be fast friends, he didn't know why -- it just felt like it made sense. "You wanna play twenty questions?"

It wasn't like a real tub, not like a bath at least - but it was kind of neat, she thought of the hot tub. She'd have probably liked it more if she let herself get in all the way, maybe she'd do that later. Not today, she liked sitting on the edge though, the bubbles felt nice around her legs and she swished her feet back and forth a little while Clint splashed around a little bit before he'd decided he'd had enough and joined her.

He was silly, maybe a little goofy, but in a way that she liked she thought. And as he sat with her she decided they were going to be very good friends. She nodded eagerly at his request for a game, "Yeah, I'll go first." She said thinking of something that she could use before she decided on her new favorite thing Lucky Charms. Happy to play with Clint and just enjoy the party.
